It shouldn't, Theoretically the game should be ready for release by now, It is just Selling and marketing the game would be really difficult right now.

Yeah that's what everyone thought when they said it would be released fall 2013. I'm not holding my breath for a release anytime soon given their track record...
I think if the release date was a month from it would be in Beta. But I think they are trying to add new features with the extended delay.
Put it this way with the extended time, it better be damn good.
I was assuming that they aren't so much adding features, as adding flavor etc, while they fix the features that delayed it in the first place, probably feature creep. Granted I'm fine with the delay, so long as I get a decent game, and by decent I mean a functioning post ww2 grand strategy, so something no one has seen thus far.
Also they're likely polishing and balancing, and no paradox game can have enough of that.
If they don't respect the release time schedule there will be a total disappointment, if they don't provide DD's on regular basis more peoples will lose interest in the game, then moderators that act as STASI's officers deleting every topic that's asking for new infos, guys, seriously, there is nothing new to talk about in that forum since the last DD of 4 months ago, peoples are bored to the bone to always talk about the same topics openend one year ago, we need more and continuos infos.
Seems there is no patience left in the world. I have no clue but for arguments sake let's say they put in some really neat cool feature. But during testing they found that it caused some major bugs or problems. You then have three options. 1) Release it with the bugs and other problems. 2) Tear out the new things and release on schedule. Or 3) Take the time and fix the new features so that when it is release it is not completely broken.
As usual people get mad when something isn't released when the original plan said it would. But the option is to delay and fix or rush it out the door.
I have no clue if this is the case but it at least makes logical sense.

The topic is about asking for new DD's and new infos, if you're ok about knowing nothing about East vs West that's ok too, you'll buy a game of which you'll know exactly nothing

OK, i really support any request for information (and it is nice to be allowed to talk about it without getting banned ).
We didn´t get any relevant information since almost 3 months, and the last DD is now almost 4 months ago. While i´m not saying that i´m pissed off, i can atleast say that i´m slowly getting a bit annoyed. This is probably the game i was/am/will be anticipating the most over the last few years, and i can´t wait to get more information about it. While it really is up to Paradox to give us more or less information about this game, i really ask them to reconsider their policy of giving this game probably the least information of any game they published in the past few years. It has become even that bad, that TOG a (very big) DLC ( but still not more then a DLC) for CKII has got the same number of DDs as EvW, a game that it is very anticipated by many people.

Yeah, more DDs, more info, more screenshots. EvW got a lot of attention when it was announced, it's a game that many users are impatiently waiting for. EUIV is already out, there is no reason not to prioritise EvW now.
See, I have patience, I have been patiently waiting for 4 months for a DD, or an actual good amount of information in any form of presentation.
But after 4 months of getting on my computer in the morning, checking the EvW page right off the bat and seeing no DD's... I have kinda lost my patience.
When I first discovered the game I really enjoyed looking at the forms as there was a good amount of information coming out, but now... I am bored with this game, I look at the forums less often and I am really just not interested.
If the EvW crew is trying to work on marketing, they should be putting more information out there. More and more people keep on loosing interest every week because of the lack of info, I am actually perfectly fine if you just take 3 seconds of your time to open up Fraps, take a screenshot of a province in the middle of Africa, and post that. I just like to know the devs are actually putting stuff out, I want to see if there have been any changes with the main screen.
I also doubt that any EvW dev will come and post on here, or even a PI admin (unless something adminy comes up).

If wasn't for the continuos request of new DD's and some sort of informations by the forumers there wasn't absolutely nothing to discuss in that forum, save for those (in my opinion) not so useful "Developers team introduction" (sincerely, who cares about?) and that "We are the World" thing where you create your own fantasy leader, c'mon that's an eye candy to keep forumers busy, while DD's and real infos aren't provided to who will eventually buy this game.
Now that EU4 is definitevely launched there are no more excuses by Paradox, I'm curious to see how much effort they will put into writing DD's about East vs West, and considering that the game release was postponed, if I recall correctly, to Q1 2014, there are roughly 8 months before it's launch, I hope they don't think to release just 8 more DD's up to the scheduled release date.

Yeah, just a couple random screens would be nice, like screen shot thread that the devs tack a few on like once a week. That would be sufficient for me, I'm approaching the point where I don't even care if the game ever comes out.
I don't mind waiting but going months without a DD and very little info from the devs since then is a bit bizarre. Makes me a bit nervous that something might not be going well with the development process. Hopefully my fears are unfounded.
I am not afraid of it being simple or anything bad like that. It looked really good on the stream after all.
