the feudal realm of Venezia is a Shaytana creation. the vassal republic in the venetian archipelago is a Futuregary addition.
Was it decommisioned? Or a small mistake during the porting to the Eastern Expansion?

Actually, no, I'd added the original republics, including Venice; it wasn't Futuregary.

Futuregary commented to me that Venice didn't make sense as a republic in LI and that he was removing it for the EE. I don't really remember if he elaborated on why.

ah, right, I misremembered. IIRC, what FG did was adding the other republics

Futuregary commented to me that Venice didn't make sense as a republic in LI and that he was removing it for the EE. I don't really remember if he elaborated on why.

well, to be fair, it didn't exactly make sense anyway, since Venezia in LI if I understand it well is more of a military march of sorts, not to mention the whole republic dogeship thing came about form the circumstances of them pre-venetians fleeing the mainland from huns, and the circumstances afterwards.
still, it kinda makes some sense if you consider the vassal republic as a collection/band of semi-autonomous traders based on the lagoon under protection form their mainland realm. like a sort of plutocratic alliance (which is pretty much how I imagine the backstories of most LI republics anyway)

still, if the others don't consider Venice as a sensible republic, then I don't mind either way

Since you ask, I think Venice as a Repbulic in LI does not make much sense. I like Republic mechanics but I can't imagine the Venetian Republic we know from real life in LI's world. In LI, republics are more like the Greek Polis, variations of Carthago, Merchant princes of Hormuz and the like. So better forget about the Renaissance Venice, I would say, to keep our mind open to more LI-appropriate Republics.

The county of Najran south of Mecca has baronies that are named after cities in France, which I think is a bug :p (latest SVN)

edit: The duchy of Malakal has its capital somewhere in the Arabian Peninsula, which is incorrect, since it's a duchy in Africa.

edit2: Once reforming the Ghazi Islamic religion, their previous holy order does not transition to the new, reformed one, the Mujahid religion. Thus, it has no holy order.

edit3: After reforming the Ghazi Islamic religion, it becomes a heresy of the Mujahid religion, however, it does not get a red heresy icon, thereby making it so that both religions have the same icon, making it confusing.

edit4: Apparently the Mujahid faith has no God. The court imam keeps saying 'Praise !'

edit5: The 'You have been at peace for too long' notifier displays the Mujahid faith weird. It says: 'As a Mujahid! you lose 1.0 authority every month ... ' (why is the exclamation mark there?).

This is a job for Futuregary, since he did the province shuffling.

muslim_domination_reformed (the tag for Mujahid) has the same index for icon and heresy_icon. Job for DarkReborn, he does most of the graphics stuff. I can't even find the religion strip for some reason. (edit) Oh, it's a DDS, and I didn't have the DDS plugin for Gimp installed on this computer. It doesn't look like there's a red version of that icon, so I'll leave it to DR to add it.

No god_names defined for muslim_domination_reformed. Fixed.

§ missing from the localization text (§! is the code for "end current color code") Fixed.

I see the 'Reknowned' traits typos were fixed to 'renowned' (it's with a lowercase 'r' though, should be with a capital R) :p.

edit: I'm playing as a Qarmatian now, and for some reason whenever I'm in a battle, the 'war knowledge' event pops up like 5 times. The first time it gives me the military tech spread rate but all other popups after that give me nothing. Kinda annoying.

edit2: I can't find the 'Novice Diplomat', 'Trained Diplomat' etc. traits in the character creator (unlike the 'Fighter' ones which are there). Is this intentional?

Can you screenshot the event, or give exact text?

'We have gained a better understanding of military matters during this battle' So far from what I've observed this event spam only triggers if I'm playing a Qarmatian.

Also, the reformed Ibadi religion has no God.

edit: Like the Mujahid religion, the reformed Ibadi religion has no holy order once reformed. The un-reformed religion holy order does not transition to the reformed one.

odd. that event is supposed to not pop up while the effect is active.

Can't find that text. Would it be: "Battle is the best teacher! I have gained knowledge of advanced combat tactics."?

Also, the reformed Ibadi religion has no God.
Fixed.

I think all holy orders are locked to one religion. To have holy orders for those reformed religions, we'd have to make new ones (and new flags for them.)

This is the event. This displays the first time.

Us9EBky.jpg

For the next 4 subsequent times, it does this:

zEzeain.jpg

Notice there's no modifier that time. So it's basically useless. My cursor isn't displayed in both those screenshots for some reason, but in both instances I'm hovering over the 'Excellent'

OK, found it and added a check to make sure you don't already have the war_knowledge province modifier, but it's really a vanilla event with edits. Don't know why it's triggering so much for you. You must have a lot of traits that are positive for the event.

In theory, no unreformed religion should have any holy order. This is a major balance and design issue. I never had time to get into the HO code, though, so some oddities may exist...

Most if not all of the holy orders date from Shaytana, and thus predate the religions reforming.
