In one of my games the conqueror died as King of England, but his successors lost the crown (whoop-de-doo, big surprise, thanks Elective!). After couple of centuries they have gained possession of every single duchy inside England and have forced Elective succession. Since I'm about to assassinate the current king's (House of Godwin, of course) children, the de Normandies will become rulers of England.

...then try try again.

The Springtime of Nations happened a bit early. Or maybe it's just the Springtime of f*cking things up. In any case, when the streets run red with blood it's a good idea to buy real estate for it's cheap then.

So, I was testing stuff for my mod, and came upon this dude:

I don't even

My game of CK is beyond any doubt the greatest soap opera of all time

I am married to the queen of HRE, while sleeping with the queen of Byzantine Empire.
Who is married to my son and heir.
Who is also my secret illegitemate daughter from a love affair a couple years back:

15ev3bn.jpg

21erehi.jpg

The HRE queen I am married to helped me plot to kill her own husband so I could marry her. Unfortunately her sister is married to the king of Norway/Ireland/Scotland, and the HRE is in continous war. I am trying to keep my wife as the empress, her sister has gone to war several times to claim my wife's title, all with the backing of the king of ireland-scotland-norway.
The Queen of Byz is carrying my child (My son thinks it's his), who will one day unite the crowns of Sicily and Byzantium. The current queen's mother was also sleeping with me.
In other words; my daughter-in-law the empress and my grandson are both my secret, illegitemate children.

My savegame right now is absolutely priceless. There is a lot more melodrama than this going on :)
Europe sure is turbulent.

A gay bastard viking adventurer invading the Pope...

The poor chancellor has recently died. Talking about dead:

'Mum, this place is much better then dad's court. I am learning much!'

'He would probably only teach you how to become a skeleton, Wladyslaw.'

This is pretty amazing. Porphyrius is a name for the ages!

Also those beautiful natural skin colours for Mediterranean portraits.

Also Porphyrios's eyes. Dem eyes.

Things aren't looking good for poor ol' Youkhann.

Four wars. Three of which are rebellions. So, I decide to help...in a manner of speaking.

Imagine that. Slap a Shia Caliphate in Christian Providences, most of his kids end up Catholic. So I figured...why not?

A shame she's weak. I prevented Umar from joining the Templar. I demand he give birth to a boy, so I can start engineering the means to get my ruler with the Sayyid trait. This means potentially ruinous inbreeding in the shallow gene pool of the Isles, but I will make this happen. Youkhann shall live in the hearts of the Irish everywhere!

I also need diplomatic advice from a twelve year old.

Porphyrios update
Here is a more detailed chronicle of the legendary Porphyrios II Spartenos of Sicily, truly Europe's greatest diplomatic genius of all time, with a romantic history rivalling that of Casanova and military exploits matching the greatest generals of antiquity.

-Sicily and Byzantium in 1193, at the start of the drama
28vwvw1.jpg

Here are new details about the glorious life of Porphyrios the Lion!

From the beginning, fortune was on his side. The kingdom was blessed as its marshall was receiving military intel from Jesus, proving that Porphyrios' coming was indeed divine prophecy.
11sc8so.jpg

My uncle is the leader of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre, with my brother being his heir - These two guys rose in the ranks themselves, I had no direct hand in this. Considering their mega-stats it's no wonder my dynasty rules the world.

2ymx8om.jpg

Near the end of his reign, in 1226, the imperlal wives have both died, though Porphyrios, while old, has lost none of his spark!
At age 71, during a war to preserve my (new) wife's imperial power, I threw down the usurper of her throne, Leopold, by challenging the 23-year-old to personal combat. He would never come to regret crossing The Lion!
4jri9d.jpg

The murder of her step-brother had no effect on the Empress' conscience, the power of Porphyrios' boner was stronger. So she joined me in killing her husband.

She also had no beef with me marrying her, murdering all of her 3 existing children, and then siring a new heir with her.

Porphyrios' Legacy
Porphyrios II the Lion finally died in 1230 at the age of 76. His legacy is the most enduring of any badass ever. Here is his legacy:

The prime heir to Porphyrios is his grandson Akakios. He is the king of Sicily and the emperor of the Byzantine Empire.
nl1hxu.jpg

His father, after 50-year career as a knight, is the leader of the Orthodox Holy Order. This had disallowed him from succession thus enabling Akakios to become the emperor.
dc5892.jpg

My uncle Germanos (lol!) is the Holy Roman Emperor, the child of Porphyrios and queen Ulrike.
2h50lk6.jpg

The king of France and the heir of Ireland are my son-in-laws. My cousin ruled Castille, while my other cousin is married to the king of Sweden.

Europe in this game is truly spectacular.
-HRE has absorbed Poland.
-Rus is a united empire.
-England-France is a stable megablob of doom.
-Their counterweight is Super-Scotland, a union of ireland/scotland/norway that dominates the North.
-Hungary collapsed into a half dozen duchies in the late 1100's
-Seljuqs constitute a huge empire in Asia that beat back the Ilkhans with ease.

I didn't deliberately cause any of this. Everything is the AI's doing.

This is the world of Porphyrios II Spartenos the Lion. He led Holy Wars that conquered North Africa. He campaigned in Germany, the Levant, Anatolia, Spain and Italy. He drove the Catholic pope out of Rome. He brought France, England, Germany and Spain to Orthodox Christianity. He founded the Greeko nation-state in Italy. He even killed the Holy Roman Emperor in single combat. And his descendants rule the greatest empire in European history.

If anyone is interested I will post a sequel that details Porphyrios' glorious descendants in the 1400's! With almost equal amounts of soap opera.
