Guys,

Are we going to have an option to get rid of that HUGE BLUE Tweeter bird on the top the screen. I know it displays notifications but can we hide it when there is no new notification?

Its annoyingly blocking the view.

Cheers

this is data from this thread.
I'll give you a guess for the whole C:SL community but a much more down to earth estimation:
-1% people love the chirper
-1% hate it/want it moved away
-98% don't care because it's a small chirper not influencing anything.

;)

I think you'll turn out to be wrong, there will be under 50% who don't have a preference. We'll see :)

We'll see is right. None of us have played the game so we don't know how annoying or helpful it is. Besides they've posted that the chirper will not be removed, so end of story. And it should have been the end of this thread.

i can guarantee you with absolute certainty that it will definitely be above 80%.

to ali.usman:
It's great that you express your opinion of something, but don't start pulling data out of your a**. In order to mislead people just like ali.usman did.

If the bird really was a nuisance to a significantly huge croud, people other than a few guys in an echo chamber (this thread), there would've been a few threads complaining by now, something much larger in scale than 1 thread and even this thread has evenly split opinions for and against, because only people that care about this feature bother to post here.

I mean even citysimplayer, with his fetish for fealistic citizent routines gathered more support than this hate for chirper did, which is why i responded in such manner.

Same with evolution and creationism in talk shows.
Just because talk show hosts 1 talker supporting evolution and 1 talker supporting creationism, doesn't mean that scientific community is split on this issue 50-50%.

I'm just worried about it hurting some peoples necks

And 98% of the statistics on the internet are made up numbers.

LOL

You counted each post and those were the responses? Well, I think your whole-community estimates are off.

I personally don't care (unless, as I said earlier in the thread, it ends up constantly popping up a big box every 5 seconds. I don't care about the bird).

OK about above stats , first they are not community stats. The data is entirely based on replies in this thread. I might have went wrong slightly here and there but this is an approximate estimation. Only 20% people really want this bird to stay. Rest of people want it to be removed or to be moved or to have an option to hide etc

So basically its 8:2 ratio and CO we don't wanna break hearts (20%) therefore a simple option to hide it when its inactive would be great .

Wow , internet bullying is a real thing. We should all act in a mature manner (not just pick up one simple thing to make fun of it over and over)

Wow people making complaint threads with exaggerated problems is a real thing.
words like 'huge' and story's of 'moving my head in vain to see behind the bird' I believe are exaggerating a non existent problem.

So basically if your going to complain about a small bird with words like HUGE and come up with statistics off a small thread then
46691-cat-deal-with-it-gif-IjeF.gif

Also if the story's of subconscious head movement around the bird are true and not exagerated then id say it must be a HUGE problem
cat.gif

I mean when your head starts to do this when there's a small bird at the top of the screen i think the bird needs to go.

Serious concern in a serious thread about an apparently GINORMOUSE bird

Quick fact about the stats, aprox 10% of the responses in this thread are cats .gifs.
to some it may seem a HUGE amount of replies to this thread, but it is still a relatively low number of different people posting to draw up statistics about the said GIGANTIC bird.
And of that; this thread will more then likely suck in bird haters as opposed to being an unbiased poll

Heh, never mind, he's just filling in time while we wait for the game :D I thought the li'l puddy tats are quite funny. But thanks, it's good for us all to keep a lid on bullying as it can on occasion lead to some awful outcomes.

Bullying is when someone with power picks on someone without power. Everyone here is a peer, noone is being bullied or ganged up on.

Actually you don't have to have lesser status to suffer from bullying, a lot depends on psychological profile, and how many people join in the attack, or how sustained it is. I define bullying as when the victim feels bullied or intimidated, and the perpetrator is aware of that, and intends that reaction. I don't call it bullying when someone intended affectionate teasing and didn't know it was upsetting the victim. Or when someone simply thought they were having an argument with someone who could stand up for themselves.

I would perceive an attempt at bullying if Leermeister were to start to look out for my posts in every thread and try to find anything he could to ridicule me about. However I probably wouldn't become a victim as I am well used to the rough and tumble of the internet.

That's what it is. If a "lot of people join the attack" then that is power. If one guy followed you around and no-one really agreed with him, he was just a lone dude being a dick, who is your equal in every way then it would be harassment but not really bullying. If you feel able to give as good as you get then how can it be bullying? You say "If the victim feels bullied or intimidated", well "bullied" is the word you're trying to define and "intimidated" requires there to be a power imbalance. You don't feel intimidated by equals in a given situation. The reason you wouldn't "become a victim" is because you're of equal status to him and there's nothing he can do to actually bully you.

I take offense that anyone would call anything that happened in this thread "bullying". Someone who is completely on your level is posting cat images on a forum because he thinks it's funny. At most he's being annoying to someone, it devalues the word bullying to describe it that way. Someone being mean to someone is not the same as bullying.

Yes, you're right, I wasn't seeing bullying at all. But I did appreciate that someone had their eye on the situation, and if people can remain aware of when it starts, and care enough to speak up, then real bullying can be kept to the minimum.
