(from section 7, I bolded some points) "In addition, Paradox shall also have the right to collect technical information from You, such as computer configuration, browser type, platform type, internet service provider (ISP) and software usage, which are gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and other services related to the Software Product.

Paradox may use any collected information to improve its products, administer the Game, analyze trends, or to provide services or technologies to End User. In addition, Paradox may use End User’s software usage information for the purpose of research, development, administration, support and marketing of Paradox products and services."

Man this is the third topic you make about that. Im pretty sure you are a Maxis worker trying to scare people. Good luck playing a game or using a service that dont collect your data. ;)

At least they dont read your e-mails like Google do.

Anyway go back to Maxis to try to make a better Sim City, your last one was a sad history to the industry of city builders.

Why the multiple threads, one would be enough unless your a spammer/troll

In this case there talking about statistics they collect (eg in EUIV thay use it to find out what mods/countries/start dates ect are most popular, they share this info on the forums every year)

This is a larger issue involving the idea of stuff I dont undertand but I do know that it stretches deep into OT territory

It simply says that if you breach the EULA, harm a third party or misuse the software then you and are liable and not Paradox. And frankly, why should they be liable for anyone else misbehaving. It's simply a legal way of saying, we provide this software in good faith, if you break that faith, you're on your own. It's a fairly standard.

EULA's are legally binding, but the law of the land takes precedence.

You should not order this game and accept this agreement then if you feel this is too heavy handed. Simple as that.

I won't mind sigining this myself and playing the game, it seems fair.

Of course I'm not going to blame ford if I run into somebody in my car either. So little freedom in the world :(........

Aren't there clauses like this in every EULA?

Why is he not banner or warned yet?

You have to PM the mods about he/she/it this subforum isn't moderated as much as the others

Paradox is very tolerant when it comes to YouTube videos of there content (see: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...ideos-containing-Paradox-Interactive-material! )
the eula appears to say otherwise
British courts tend not to uphold any unusual or unfair clauses even if you have signed the contract.
Great if you live in the U.S.

yes that would be reasonable but this would be like ford having the consumer sign a statement that they are not liable for anything about a car even if it just explodes sitting in the driveway.

Aren't there clauses like this in every EULA?
sadly they are common

Why is he not banner or warned yet?
for what, it is their EULA, I am just informing people/asking about it. Paradox wrote it, not me. People should be aware of what they are "agreeing to". If they have an issue with it they shouldn't have made it part of the EULA

The three topics are different. I was severely dissapointed with the destruction of what SimCity was and hate to see this kind of stuff, They still have time to change this EULA though and be a little consumer friendly

99% sure he is a troll, seeing the only threads he has created are the EULA threads... and he has only posted in those threads too :p
I was about to buy this game on Steam and decided to read the 3rd party EULA required and was a bit annoyed they are trying to get people to agree to this stuff.

1) Install under Ubuntu
2) Run the game under a dedicated account or inside a container
3) Profit
unfortunately that or a VM may be necessary to avoid "marketing" use depending on what exactly they actually meant by that
