I would prefer corporate flags and emblems, because I think it is far more likely that it would be corporations that would be running things beyond earth.

This is only acceptable if NBN's logo is also in the game.

I think the UN flag or a variation thereof is the most realistic. Individual nations may or may not still exist but when interacting with other species, the UN flag (or a variation thereof) would likely be the one to represent humanity and its colonies. This is of course assuming the UN hasn't been supplanted by a newer organization for representing human affairs (Like Mass Effects Systems Alliance) which is likely when we begin full sale colonization.

The UN one is by far the most logical one, also far more beautiful than those ugly US or UK-like flags.

But that 'Terran Empire' flag from Star Trek is cool.
