Exterminating all xenos scum?

If you play as something other than humans, that makes humans xenos, who can be exterminated. :D

I will probably play mostly as arthropods and molluscs, maybe a little fungoid and reptilian.

My first game will be as radical collectivist xenophile arthropods.

It's kind of like how in Vicky II, EUIV, and CKII I rarely play as Western Europe, Russia, or the US.

Edit: Oops, I had meant to edit this in, rather than double posting. Oh well.

my first playtrough will be human.

I usually don´t like to play much non humanoid species so i have a hard time playing with most of them.

My first play will focus on a peace playtrough.

The second on will be full military, so going humans again or another race are both fun and full of resemblance to warhammer :p. (WAaaaaaagh).

My first game will be a Militarist/Xenophile species, probably Avian. I want to play a sort of meddling big brother role, trying to take stage in galactic politics as much as possible. Most importantly, the races' biggest ideal is that all sapient creatures should be part of the same nation (not sure if I want that nation to be autocratic, communist, or democratic, but the game is still a long ways off). The very concept of multiple countries is alien to them; hence their willingness to conquer aliens despite wanting to be friendly with them.

Mainly, I just want to roleplay an interesting race rather than just designing the "perfect" one. I also want to do so while avoiding the old scifi trope of Smart Race - Strong Race - Charismatic Race - Humans (Brave/Enduring Race) - Insects/Robots - Wealthy Race. Those six seem to be the only ones that anyone can come up with, which frustrates me to no end. I mean, Mass Effect went as far as having the Council be made up of the three most common ones.

It depends on how customasible will be appearence of species as it means a lot for me and I'd like to play my first game as kind of an elvish race and to pure the Galaxy from all "inperfect" species.

Was just going to post this. Space Elf purge FTW!

Prolly play as humans at least once. If nothing else, to try to recreate the Eldar from Warhammer 40K.

Portrait mods probably won't be hard to make. I hope "Elven Portraits" are a day 1 mod :D

Will either be playing as Avian or Lizard men in my first play though. Either way it will be the peaceful way.
For my 2nd play though, I was always a Dark Eldar Fan

I usually play a benevolent hyper-consciousness machine race, or some variant on the maybe-not-entirely-horrible synthetic life theme. Sadly, they're not going to be in.

I also sometimes play a slightly more chaotic insect hivemind theme, when I feel like paving a path of destruction and ignoring my better (moral) judgement. If that theme is done justice in the game I happen to be playing, or at least the game is open enough to allow that interpretation. But that isn't really going to be in Stellaris either? I don't think? At least not to the extent that I'd like.

So I have a feeling my first game will probably be humans. Though probably something a bit less straight-forward than empires and federations. I am thinking a reasonably benevolent corporate dictatorship, where a single corporation has managed to dominate space travel, and runs their colonies like subsidiaries.

Anyway, most of the time I don't go on a rampage, I'm more interested in trade, diplomacy, expansion, and playing defensively.

Lizard or insectoid first. Either way enslavement of the filthy humans will ensue. I don't want to think about what that says about me.

I also second the question as to the dankness of memes. Of much relevant.

The 40K crowd are a bit childish like the kiddy setting itself. One would think this was a COD forum and not Paradox.

Most 4x games allow for conquering minor races what is interesting here is you can do more.

Do you even understand the Grimdark setting of 40k. This critique is childish since it's not arguementated.

Mankind believes in its Manifest destiny to rule the Galaxy, all justification is found in the will of the Emperor (Deus Vult?) and democracy is untenable in the neo feudalist star federation called the Imperium of Man. All technology is hoarded by the machine cult and deified. The quest for new knowledge has been replaced by the Quest to recover knowledge thus all scientific progress has been halted and monitored by the omnipotent Inquisition. A hostile approach to non-humans is the only approach in such a setting.

Technically you only described Warhammer 40k, you did not prove that it is not childish (not that he did it either the other way around).

I'll play at least one game as custom humans, maybe one as base humans. I'm very interested into makig a religious militaristic empire that will praise the Gods of War for Galactic Conquest

On my first try? Nah i have an idea for a custom mammalian race that i want to play as (most likely either good, or good ish neutral, as i tend to be in the first playthrough of most games where its allowed So no mass slaughters of entire races unless you really really fuck with me).

Humans will probably be second where i will pretty much devol- EVOLVE GLORIOUSLY INTO THE IMPERIUM OF MAN!
