Somewhere out there is a universe where Ronald D Moore was given free reign over Voyager and we got a series that consistently hit the greatness of the "Year Of Hell" two parter...

Still, they gave us the Voth. And I do love the Voth.

Anyway, all the Single Kazon Ladies:

Year in hell is one of the few I can actually remember...

Fun fact, Year of Hell was originally pitched as a season long story, not just two episodes.

I think it would have been cool if Voyager was slowly damaged over the years, like RDM did with nuBSG. But the Voyager producers veto'd that Idea because it would have been too costly. Keeping Voyager fresh meant they could just reuse the same footage over and over, and wouldn't have to pay the VFX guys to alter the model.

I wonder what Voyager would've been like if the producers had an infinite amount of money for production. My guess is: There would be far more episodes that you'll actually remember years later. And reasons for watching the series again.

I don't think that DS9 had a bigger budget but it is nevertheless the far superior show. You don't need an endless amount of money to write good scripts.

I think the guys behind the Stargate franchise realised the secret here; continuity. Nothing fleshes out a universe - even one full of silly sci-fi tropes - like internal consistency and self reference.

unfortunately ferengi will not be included in todays patch 0.5, they will come a bit later with a VERY VERY special feature for them :D.
