November 1941
Condition of the Fronts
Arkhangelsk Front
- The ground has started to freeze in much of Arkhangelsk front. So, hopefully, that adds to the stability on this front.
Leningrad Front
- With a rather large thrust going on in Kiev Front right now STAVKA has toyed with the idea of offensive action on this front - but is timid to do so given that the last time a large offensive action was attempted it resulted in the entire front's near collapse.
Kiev Front
- Battle in Berezne will determine the status of the entire front. With such a huge force in the area, a loss on the Northern flank of the Kiev Front will result in the Odessa bulge becoming much larger.
Odessa Front
- Very stable for the moment, so far the Germans have been prevented from rolling back most of the Dniester line.
Trans-Caucus Front
- Offensive action is off the table for right now.
-------------------------
3:00, 1st, the Germans assault Riga and Illichivsk again, as well as Uzda.
All defenders report that their position seems to be good for now.
2:00, 2nd, we win the battle for Uzda once more, 124 Soviet soldiers lose their lives, while 1,248 fascists die.
Seeing a window, with the Germans exhausted from multiple assaults in the area, General Martsinkevich leads 3 divisions out of Mink to attack the exhausted Germans at Molodeczno. Tentatively, we will withdraw some of the forces currently holding the Daugava, and thrust them into this area of action. We will not sacrifice our strategic depth this time however.
19:00, 2nd. With battles raging throughout the front - Japan declares war on the United States.
10:00, 3rd, the Germans call off their massive assault on Berezne. 1379 Soviet soldiers gave their lives to defend the Rodina, whilst they killed 2578 bandits.
14:00, 3rd, Rybalko reports that the German assault on Riga has failed, this time they killed 3,999 fascists in the defense. The Baltic Sea Fleet's big guns harried the Germans all the way back to the forest!

12:00, we have thrown the Northern flank of the attack on Berezne away in Kostopol.
Our troops are too exhausted to pursue however.
15:00, we killed 700 Germans who tried to enter Kamaniets.
19:00, 4th, the massive battle of Netyshin ends - we lost 4,133, while the Axis lost 5776
Several of our tank divisions are completely exhausted in the attack.
18:00, 5th, Baranov reports that we now hold Plescanicy, and killed 633 Bulgarians in the defense, to the loss of only 60 of our own soldiers.
8:00, 6th, our attack on Molodeczno has finished, we will, tentatively, attempt to take the area.
13:00, general Simoniak, with 2 divisions, assaults a Romanian division in Wilejka, Baranov's old stomping ground.
15:00, 7th, Molodeczno is counter-attacked by the Germans. Our divisions are not progressing in an orderly fashion and general Sakhno's division may be severely bloodied for going too far ahead of the rest of the force.
1:00, 8th, a light tank division enters Kamaniets - it will receive the treatment all previous guests have been given!
3:00, 10th, 1387 more Germans die for attempting to set foot in Kamaniets.
5:00, 10th, a small offensive begins on Kiev Front - after the failure of such a massive assault, our tanks may be exhausted, but our infantry and motorized troops are in perfect fighting shape! The Axis will pay for Berezne!
14:00, 11th, we killed 1956 fascists in Polonne on the Kiev Front as part of our small offensive and will be moving the whole line forward to compensate - defensive depth will *not* be sacrificed.
18:00, 11th, General Baranov attacks a division of Romanians in Kryzwice - our objective is to perhaps entrap a small number of German divisions at Doksycy.
22:00, 11th, 3 Panzers counter attack us at Molodeczno - general Gurev reports that he refuses to leave the position and will fight on - he says his men relish the chance to shoot at tanks!
11:00, 12, 674 Romanians are killed in the taking of Kryzwice.
22:00, 12th, we win the battles of Kostopol and Rowne - Kiev front advances for now.
Worsening situation in Molodeczno however.
00:00, 14th, forward elements of Barnov's attack force come under attack in Kryzwice, but we will hold it off - the battle for Globekie is also proceeding well.
6:00, 14, Simoniak's division attempts to turn the flank of German panzers attacking Molodeczno.
12:00, 14, the Germans call off the attack on Kryzwice - they will now assist in the assault on Globekie.
21:00, 16th, our assault on Globekie has been a success, 3842 Soviets died in the assault, but we killed 5,522 Axis wolves!
22:00, 16th, tanks of the Kiev Front engage the enemy at Shepetikva and Krzemieniec
11:00, 17, we win the battle of Krzemieniec
13:00, 17th, Rotmistrov's tanks assault Luck and find only rabble!
16:00, we win the battle for Shepetikva.
17:00 Germans attempt to enter Kamaniets again - they will be hit with everything we have in the area!
19:00, Zherdev's division attack the Germans in Doksycy to tie them down so that our motorized troops might swing in behind them!
22:00, 17, we win the battle for Luck.
16:00, 18th, the Germans counter attack us in Shepetikva, Pavlov reports that this should not be an issue.
3:00, 19th, we are pushed back from Luck - German reinforcements are coming in heavily!
We have finished our entrapment of 5 divisions in Doksycy! General Zherdev's troops will be joined by many others soon.
9:00, 20th, we assault Luck again. Badanov's tanks take on the panzers that forced us from there earlier!
16:00, 20th, the battle for Molodeczno still rages.
20:00, 20th, to relieve the pressure on our offensive, Rieter engages in a flanking attack on Zarasai - it is a forest so we don't expect the attack to succeed, but we must relieve pressure on our pocket around Doksycy or the Germans will be able to make their escape!
8:00 21st, the heavy armor which foiled our offensive last time has appeared in Luck... The Kiev Front's offensive action is stalling, but thankfully we have defensive depth so if a large counter-attack comes we should not buckle like the early days of this war!
15:00 21, the Germans attempt to bomb the Baltic fleet again, but are bounced by fighters immediately.
19:00, 21, Simoniak's troops attack the massive German concentration attacking Molodeczno to attempt to relieve our battered divisions there.
4:00, 23, we thwart the German counter attack at Rowne, killing 1,500 of them.
13:00, 23, a massive German assault force, including heavy tanks attacks our forward positions on the Kiev Front at Krzemieniec - General Sandalov reports that there is absolutely no way he can maintain the position - we will attempt to turn the heavy tank's flank before surrendering the area.
15:00, 23, the Germans are again chased from Kamaniets - but this time we ended up the bloodier for it.
20:00, it is decided Sandalov indeed cannot hold.
00:00, 24th, after raging for 13 full days, the battle for Molodeczno appears lost - Gurev's troops fought valiantly, but they are completely exhausted - we will have to retreat, and call off the entire Leningrad offensive operation because our Southern flank is greatly exposed. They need to hold out until 14:00 to allow us to reestablish defenses in the South.
A new infantry division is raised at this hour as well, it will be positioned in Minsk.
10:00, 24, Stern's troops turn back the last German attempt to free the troops trapped in Doksycy - we assume this is the last - because any future attacks will come too late!
15:00, 24, we win the battle for Zarasai, 3,440 Germans die in the attack.
2:00, 25th, more heavy armor appears and attacks us at Proskurov, the Southern extent of the Kiev front (over top of Kamaniets). General N.A. Novikov is dubious about whether or not he can hold. Zhigarev's CAS flight will attempt to pound the German tanks to give him a fighting chance!
7:00, 25th, we win the battle for Volochysk. It is adjacent to Proskurov. 4,073 fascists died - and soon we will have the ability to turn the flank of the German heavy tanks!
If General N.A. Novikov can hold until the 27th, our own heavy tanks will join the fray! It will be the first test of our heavies against the Germans.
21:00, 25th, meteorologists are noting that the ground in and around Leningrad front should freeze solid soon.
22:00, 25th, more German heavy tanks attack us at Rowne, general Zhmachenko reports that we should be able to hold. The Germans are attacking with 2 panzer divisions, a light tank division, and a heavy tank division, against 3 Soviet tank divisions, and 4 infantry divisions.
4:00, 26th, General Khrulev leads an attack to try to turn the enemy attack of Rowne's flank at Kiwerce.
8:00, 26th, the Germans give up on Volochysk. We can now flank one set of heavies!
12:00, 26th, the Germans in Doksycy have been eliminated - it cost them 40,000 or more troops.
13:00, 26th, special commendations to Novikov's CAS flight - Gurev's defense of Molodeczo continues because his CAS bombers have so resoundingly devastated German armor attacking them. Perhaps CAS really are like air to the army.
00:00 27th, we win the battle for Proskurov.
8:00, 27th, our heavy tanks of Kiev front attack Kamaniets - so that we can retake the province, at last.
10:00, 27th. General Gurev received a special full page spread today in the evening edition of Pravda. His troops have held Molodeczno against all odds! His men heroically held off the Germans for 16 days and turned away several tank divisions with no armor of their own. Truly Gurev and all of his men are heroes of the first order! 6,312 implacable Soviet heroes gave their lives in Molodeczno, while they eradicated 14,741 torturers of the people!
11:00 General Kariofilli's troops are sent to relieve our heroes in Molodeczno.
The results of Novikov's bombing raids has been absolutely devastating to German panzers that were assaulting Molodeczno for so long
18:00, 27th, Leningrad front's offensive line has broken at Kryzwicze - that would have freed the divisions at Doksycy - but they broke through far too late.
8:00, 28th, dual victories are reported on the Kiev front at Kamaniets and Rowne - we have survived the heavy armor counter-attack and regained a position along the Dniester line!
14:00, 28th, victory is reported by Khrulev in Kiwerce.
Khrulev lost ~350 men, but killed over 1,000 fascists.
Meteorologists report that the majority of the Kiev Front is going to turn to mud, and then freeze.
Movement on all of the fronts is grinding to a halt as freezing mud overwhelms even the strongest of heroes.
23:00, 29th, the Germans assault Rowne again, general Zhmachenko again worries for his position.
15:00, 30th, the Germans counter-attack us at Kamaniets with a panzer and a heavy armor division - we may not be able to hold this position according to Solomatin.
19:00, 30th, the Germans attack just north of Molodeczno at Smorgonie, general Berzarin reports that his men are so inspired by the example of General Gurev's men that they are sure to hold!
General Horujenko counter-attacks into Kryzwicze - German fast-moving motorized troops have moved into the area well ahead of their infantry which are slowed significantly by the freezing mud.
Around the World
The Italians have made gains in North Africa - they are again at the gates of Alexandria and Cairo both, while also maintaining some sort of presence on the very banks of the Suez to the South.
The USA is at war with Japan and her puppets, but is *not* a member of the Allies yet. Nor have they declared war on the rest of the Axis.
The Japanese, likewise, are only at war with the USA and the Philippines and no other parties.
The Japanese have made landfall in the North of the Philippines. They have also taken Guam, Wake Island, Attu Island, Johnston Island, Christmas Island, and Phoenix Island.
News from the US reports that the Japanese have already lost two battleships, the Nagato and the Hyuga, the US has lost two heavy cruisers. It would appear despite taking over so many islands the Japanese navy is getting the worst end of the exchange.
The English papers also reveal that the Bismarck has been in action again, and is still out there somewhere. Admiral Kuznetsov is abundantly aware of his position outside of Riga should either Bismarck or Tirpitz show up.
Naval Action Summary
Chief of the Navy, Admiral Isakov was proud to report to STAVKA that according to the Red Navy's count, we have sunk 1.014 million tons of Axis shipping since the beginning of the war!
