Stellaris Dev Diary #87: A Glimpse of the Future

Hello everyone and welcome to another Stellaris development diary! This is going to be a short one, as it's really just about letting you guys know that we'll be taking a break from feature development diaries for the next few weeks, so everyone gets a chance to focus on and enjoy Synthetic Dawn and the 1.8 update that just came out.

There will still be 'filler' dev diaries about whatever we feel like talking about that week, but they will *not* be about new features or development priorities. The team, of course, will not be idle, and indeed have already started working on the next big thing... but more on that another time. Feature dev diaries will resume as normal on October 26th.

However, as I don't want to leave you *completely* hanging, I'm going to share this screenshot taken from our internal development build, with absolutely no context or explanation. Enjoy!

I'll throw in my 2 cents of a guess because why not: defense stations can now combine like power rangers, and the thing in the center is a megazord.

Did I do it? Do I win?

Love you guys! I am having SO much fun with 1.8
I thank everyone on the Stellaris team for making one of my favourite games.

I have one suggestion for a fix, I had some of my ocean world species migrating to an arid world I owned, which of course decreased thier productivity.
Maybe it could be added that species only migrate to planets with a habitability above a threshhold of maybe, more then 65% habitability? Just a suggestion.

I hope you are all going to enjoy your well earned break, have a good time :D

Edit: I checked some habitability stuff and somewhere inbetween 50% or 60% would be better, again, I wish you all a wonderful time.

such as the problem with Synth Ascension

You mean how sometimes part of your species don't become cyborgs/synths when the special project completes?

Me thinks it could be a new Megastructure. A Dyson Swarm (A Swarm of Solar-collecting Satellites around a sun, which produce energy. Should be able to be built in habitable systems and cost less than a Dyson Shell.

Or alternatively; Solar lifting. Siphoning off mass from a sun for energy or converting into metals (AKA minerals) using a network of systems, satellites, and ships. Kind of like the Star forge from Star Wars.

Those are my guesses anyways.

You're all wishing about changes to war and diplomacy, and I'm just here waiting for that Primitives Story Pack.
