Do you feel a bit more certain now, Capi?

Yes, I do. I'll be out for the rest of the weekend, so I won't be around deadline. I leave it in your hands.

The Winter King Nears

The news reaches you early in the day. The Winter King has won a great victory against the remnants of the Fae and is now marching back towards the Fae lands and your village. It seems that he expects to celebrate this glorious victory in you village and is bringing his entire army to this end. This, compounded with the extreme loss of life, has made any hope of saving your village impossible. However, if you can find his last agent, you can at least make your escape and live another day. To this end, you meet in the village plaza one final time to cast lots.

The Final Death

Alynkio, Capibara, and Arkasas gathered together, the three remaining members of the small village. They regarded each other silently for a time, before Capibara drew his hunting dagger and attacked alynkio. Alynkio drew his own dagger from his cloak in response. The two fighters were equally competent, and soon a stalemate was reached. Arkasas watched from afar as the two struggled. "I killed one of them with my own hands, Arkasas! Alynkio is the last one of the Winter King's wretched hounds!" cried Capibara as he gained the upper hand for a moment, pinning alynkio to the ground. Alynkio managed to slither out though and landed a heavy blow on Capibara, slicing open a long, bloody wound across his side. "I was trusted by Hax and worked to find the courtiers! I have done nothing but help this village!" answered alynkio. Capibara took advantage of alynkio's lapse in focus to stab alynkio in the stomach and leave a deep cut. The two wounded dogs circled each other, until suddenly, Arkasas made his move. He bullrushed alynkio and drove him to the ground, pinning him while Capibara moved to deliver the final blow. Alynkio realized he was done for and admitted that he proudly served the Winter King. His face was a stone as Capi finished him off and the two remaining changelings looked around the empty village and knew it was finally over.

The End

Arkasas and Capibara returned home and rested and prepared for the long journey ahead. By the time the Winter King had come they had long ago left, chasing rumors of a changeling enclave deep in the forest that was safe from his influence. The Winter King entered the village and called for his agents. When he realized they were dead he grew angry and ordered his army into the village to find any remaining changelings. As he marched with his best knights into the village plaza, no one noticed the trip wire that one of the horses stumbled over and by the time they noticed the fires started by the trap, it was too late. The village burned away in the ensuing fire and with it most of the Winter King's host, including, according to some rumors, the Winter King himself. A few days later, Arkasas and Capibara reach the changeling enclave. The changelings there react with horror as the two share the details of their ordeal and they are offered an opportunity to stay there. The two live there for a time, healing mentally and physically from the nine days of terror they lived through and making a number of friends with the other changelings. But one day, the changelings find that the two have up and left without warning. Rumors abound about what happened. That they were taken by the Winter King to finish the job started in the changeling village, that they left to travel the world, that they went to join the armies fighting the remnants of the Winter King's host, that they joined a travelling Peruvian flute band. However only the two of them know what truly happened.

Winners

Arkasas the blessed plotter changeling spy
Capibara the Fae touched changeling marksman

My favorite quotes from my PMs.

Voyager wants you to throwaway the game now, as his pack will have parity tomorrow, if no one from it dies.
I told him I'd try to convince you.
Consider it attempted.
I'd rather throw the game to the village tbh. I hope the feeling isn't mutual.
Alas. Self-fulfilling prophecy!

Ok. I'm thinking Arky barky too since a couple of days ago. But not sure.

I'm only sure of 3 things right now
1. Alxeu is baddie
2. You and I are goodies
3. If we miss today we lose.

Yeah... hunting Claude was a big mistake. Still... he didn't disclose where he was sending his padre protection, and my last 2 days at work were too frantic for me to change the hunt order once I realized Claude and Capi had decided against Warplan Arky.

Special apologies and contrition to LK. I let him down in so many ways :(
For the record...

I had Unvote Alxeu Vote Hax typed and ready to go.... and then 3:00 pm popped up :mad::oops:
Better that I didn't hit post I guess
Sorry for basically being AWOL all day; in fairness I had an 11 hour work day (and another one tomorrow) My lunch break was literally me copying and forging a bunch of updates to Hax.

Hax has asked me to investigate you. I'll make something up. Hope I can channel my inner HappyCats.
How'd I do?

Before all this goes down, if you are the last wolf, well played.
Thanks! It was.... almost :(
Still... I survived an outing :D never done that before! I don't even blame myself for falling into DeChat's trap... it was a well-laid trap! It almost worked. :p

At the outset, I figured this set-up was stilted toward the wolves , seems to have been quite well-balanced after all! Both wolf packs had victory within their grasp for a couple of days. Had I managed the snipe successfully.... :(

You wolves were really bold at killing each other this game, I've got to say.

I was annoyed, as two days in a row baddie victory was prevented by last minute shenanigans.

We didn't get everyone to snipe fast enough the day Hax tried to do a TIE (which should be considered in hindsight as an AWFUL idea), and the next day, everyone got cold feet at the last minute and killed me.

Oh, cool. Winning by accident is the best kind of winning.

Actually I suspected you a lot and was trying to buy my safety to last day
I forgot to tell you who I was padre that night. Maybe with that I would have survived.
Actually before turning to alxeu and telling capibara to do it I was going to go after you last minute but I decided not to afraid of making everybody lose.

GG and thanks for hosting Happy.

It wouldn't have worked even if Alynkio had been able to make his snipe in time. Arkasas also was on LK.

I was set to protect you, @Wagonlitz , and you had to go and hunt me. Sad! :p

Nah, as LK + Hax TIE would result in next day parity.

GG, and thanks for GM'ing happycats!

To all my packmates: We played well brothers, but unfortunately the other ack had the trust of the JL.
To the JL: Congrats on winning a game that I thought was setup in the wolves' favor, especially after some important goodies died.
To the other pack: Screw you guys for not even bothering to attach me to your pack. :p

First of all deadline was horrible for me.. I needed to make the outings so early that it was suspicious and I couldn't stay online until after deadline so I couldn't even explain myself. Probably if I could have done the outings more close to deadline that would have worked much better.

Anyway even now I don't understand why Alinkio's outing failed in such a way... I mean.. I knew he was a wolf and I was the JL so why people wouldn't believe me? Outing a wolf as the JL seems something really, really sure to do. I can't understand the assumption "if F72 is a wolf, then Alynkio can't be a wolf" that everybody made. Why can't be wolves both of them? I tried to explain to Storm that I would make an outing with Alynkio when a hunter will shoot F72, obviously the second thing was a lie, but the plan seemed really solid. Maybe I should have explain that plan to Hax as well, but I even thought that giving too much info to him could be seen as suspicious because I didn't have any reason to trust Hax. And I don't understand why Hax was so suspicious about how I did know about Alynkio. People contacted me after Sleepy's outing so why couldn't someone tell me about Alynkio for a seer scan or something like that?

I thought my first outing was far more suspicious than the second one (I wasn't even 100% sure about Sleepy and I was in the lead so it was quite a desperate move) but still that worked and not the second one... o_O
