You're doing great job Jon, thanks!

Although could I ask for some more information regarding manual changes to titles? Does the manual file completely replace the contents of the generated file or does it just add stuff to end of the file? Just a bit confused by the workflow.

Sorry to be so insistent JonStryker, but I'm really pulling my hair out here.

I'm uploading a recent failed attempt at using the map filler. In it, I used the seven kingdoms provinceDef.xls, since I know for a fact that your tool was successfully used to make that map.

There are two odd things in the files it creates:
1. Counties have kingdoms as lieges (history files).
2. Landed_titles.txt is messed up.

Please, can you help me out? I really don't know what's going on.
Thanks

1. counties get the top liege as liege since it is configured like that by default
titleLiegeDefinition = \
800.1.1={\n\
\tliege={liege}\n\
}\n

2. your landed_titles looks totally fine. I even re-generated it, still fine.

How do I change it so the liege is the one directly above (duchy)?
A few patches ago there was this change that counties would be independent if there wasn't a duke assigned to the liege-duchy (result: kingdoms that have not been properly populated with characters for a start date would shatter). That's why I changed it that a county's liege would be the kingdom it is in. I checked, there is no config option to have it the other way.

Oh, that's sad. So I'll have to edit every single county title manually?

I've been having a problem while running this on my mac. I've managed to get all of the .bat files running until I get to the mapfiller.bat. It seems to be having a problem finding the right directory, but I'm not sure. Here is a picture of terminal when this happens.

If anyone can help me out I would be eternally grateful.

Ok, so I followed all the steps, changed my config, and ran the mapfiller.bat file but it's still giving me the same error as before, where it says File not found. I don't know if this matters but I'm using the latest osx version, High Sierra, and thanks for the quick reply!

In the middle of file path it can't find: …/mod/D&D/ /map/…

That space in there doesn't like right. I suspect you have an unnecessary / after your mod name in the config file.

v20 is up!
Probably chock-full with (minor) undocumented features that I already forgot about since, hey, two years passed since I released the last one (still worked though as far as I am concerned).

Please test and if someone comes along with a well thought out idea I will gladly add that in and release v21 in no time :D
Which reminds me @N0body: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...ill-a-custom-map.697082/page-33#post-22944111 is included ^^

Your version of the character creator is much more usable than the original one. Mainly because it only adds only one dynasty.
The generation of title history is really a great feature. It saved entire weekends for me :D

However, I've noticed some of the options don't seem to have an effect. Avg # of traits (0 doesn't work), Offspring ratio (no effect), family size(no effect), malus(always on) and possibly congenital. I'm using the tool to fill in fictional characters for new provinces, so these options don't really matter much to me, but I thought you should know they don't appear to have a desired effect.

EDIT: also, it appears that last ruler in title history isn't always alive when inheriting title.

I just seem to be unable to generate map data with this tool :( Can someone take a look at this?
Generated map data looks fine to me. Never tried to run a map with 774 one county kingdoms before though.
You do have to build a proper mod around it, though. Also consider to switch to the newest version of this tool, linked in the OP.

I tweaked and modified the original tool to suit my personal needs. Many of the intended features of the original author were broken or I plain didn't like them. The GUI, however, still offers many of these since I didn't remove them from there.
What I wanted to do with the tool was to create a ruling family with a reasonable number of family members to hold a county, duchy, kingdom for a long time. Then intermarry created dynasties with the match maker tool in the Scenario Editor.
Dead people inheriting titles is an issue I encountered before that I never got around to fix and then forgot about. For the Witcher mod I used the Validator and just extended the life span of those affected dynasts.

I know that I need a proper mod around it, I'm just trying to get it to load for testing purposes, to see if I'm able to make it work at any level - right now I'm not...
