We have already covered the topic of Bloodlines, and more specifically historical Bloodlines, in a past Dev Diary, yet marrying into a famous family is not the only way to gain a Bloodline in Holy Fury.

There are quite a few custom Bloodlines that you can found with your own ruler by several different means. Some can be gained through special actions, such as by building a Legend as a Warrior Lodge Hero, others can be unlocked by performing impressive feats, such as being an extraordinarily dedicated Viking raider or restoring Israel.

Finally, if your ruler has very high Prestige (5000 points or higher) and is Duke-tier or above, you will have access to the new Forge Bloodline ambition.

By picking this ambition you will be provided with several paths to create your own custom Bloodline, tailoring it to whichever kind of ruler you wish to be remembered as.

Each path will lead you to unlock a different bloodline, each coming in different variants (for example pursuing the Murder path will lead you to gain one of four different Murder-related Bloodlines). Additionally, if you pursue more than a single path at the same time, you have a chance of unlocking a hybridized Bloodline, with its own unique perks.

And finally, if you take too long to complete any of the initial paths, having the ambition will trigger a special event chain that will allow you to invest resources and select from yet another pool of potential bloodlines, whose pick will be determined by the choices that you make during the event chain itself.

Some of these Bloodlines grant a static bonus, decreasing the chance of vassals joining factions against you, increasing your plot power, or unlocking special buildings for your realms, others grant more dynamic perks, such as special events to facilitate murder or decisions to meddle in your relatives’ private affairs.

Hm, I wander if there's something special for building 5 temples and murdering 15 infidels (well, people) as a pagan.
Also 30 murdered people as a viking in one click ezpz :D

One of the conditions to forge the bloodline (when ambition has been picked) is "built 10 cities, 10 castles or 10 temples". Sometimes when I went feudal from tribal, game built those automatically from scratch (I assume it was because what upgrades I had in my tribal holdings). Would that count, or do I have to build all of the required holdings individually (with one character, I assume)?

I think Silfae mentioned it wouldn't count unless you individually build it.

Okay, this is too confusing. There should be only three types of bloodlines:
agnatic - children inherit it from their father, so women cannot ever pass it on
enatic - children inherit it from their mother, so men cannot ever pass it on
dynastic - children inherit it from either parent, if they have same dynasty as bloodline founder. gender is ignored.
Most bloodlines would be dynastic, unless theme of bloodline makes it specifically male or female.

It would be simpler, but most historical bloodlines ignored dynasty. The whole European nobility claimed descent from Charlemagne, but they did not call themselves Karlings. Yet, There is nothing specifically manly about Charlie.

I meant that most player-created bloodlines would be dynastic.
You are correct, in that virtually all historical bloodlines would be either congatic or agnatic. But to prevent bloodline bloat, purely cognatic ones should not be in game.

The ambition can only be picked if the character does not already own a forged bloodline. Once your dynasty has forged a bloodline, it will only be able to stack more via marriage (or if your heir loses the forged one).

Are forged bloodlines considered different than Saint Bloodlines and Crusader Bloodlines?

Thus, to get several forged blodline, we have to play first as a descendant, next as the ancestor(for instance father or grand father) and then play again the first player or his son.
Is it right ?

No, and I don't know how you'd do that.

I can think of two ways to do it, both using matrilineal marriages.

1) Forge a bloodline of your own, and find a suitable forged bloodline created by the AI. When your heir is a daughter, marry her matrilineally to a junior prince of the AI dynasty who has the desired bloodline. If he's junior enough the AI won't object, and because it's a matrilineally match their children will be of your dynasty and have both bloodlines.

2) Use tanistry or seniority. Don't forget a bloodline until you're confident there are going to be several heirs who are not descendants of your current character. Then forge a bloodline with each of several characters, none of whom is a descendant of the others. Then you can marry their various descendants matrilineally to each other without the main title passing out of your dynasty, and the descendants will amass the separate bloodlines.

Is there any way not involving a matrilineal marriage? As someone who likes to pass the torch from father to son (Y chromosome and all that, haha), I really only like matrilineal marriages when numbers are so few, the dynasty's in danger. Even then, though, I set a strict rule that only first-born daughters can marry matrilineally, and the father must either be a kinsman, or lowborn with no house of his own. Weird, I know, but matrilineal marriages feel too gamey to me. Like I'm cheating...
