Local Traditions of Rus: For the Norse Germanic rulers of Kievan Rus, it might be a good idea to turn to the local traditions (see Russian culture and Slavic faith) if you want better relations with your vassals. If Yngvar isn't played by a player, the AI will choose to use this decision at game start.
- can we have something along those lines for Bulgarians? Currently if you start in 769 start date bOlgars would never convert to bUlgars.

So I've been worrying that CKII development is slowly coming to an end now and there are still many fairly small quality of life improvements I would love to see before you guys are done with CKII.

I've been thinking it would be amazing if we had some kind of actual system where the community could suggest smaller QoL improvements that everyone can vote on so the things most people agree on naturally float to the top (reddit upvoting style) and get seen by you guys and hopefully implemented. It would be a really nice showcase of how paradox has an open ear for its community and it would signal to people interested in the newer pdx grand strategy games how the long journey of each game's life-cycle will eventually come to great close with a really polished end-product.

@Devs is there perhaps a way we can simply set up a pinned thread at https://reddit.com/r/CrusaderKings/ for that specific purpose? Would you guys be inclined to look into it for small but effective QoL feature suggestions?

Did you balance Egypt's total holding count? Geographically it needed an update, but overall it was already very powerful. Especially with the Mumluks (though vassal mercs have been nerfed recently)

Not a great fan of new starting dates but all the free stuff in this year deserves an immediate buy once the paid DLC is available, late in the year. Good job!

Thank you.

Sort of bummed, but not surprised that the Volga Finns situated between the Kievan Rus and Bolgharia aren't touched upon at all it seems. It's to be expected as they aren't popular, except to eccentrics like me, and historical sources for them are either hard to find or untranslated.

They would be interesting to play at least and serve as pawns in the struggle between Kievan Rus and Bolgharia.

Still I hope the northern Kievan Rus, at least, is ruled by Finnic(Vepsian, et al) vassals of King Yngvar/Igor as that was the traditional agreement, or at least the legend, of Varangian rule there.
I'm dubious as to the actual history of that "event", but it would not be the first time Paradox skews things in a more...lets say interesting/fun direction.

Still it's great that you made a free patch of this size. Thanks!

Yeah. None of the historical Mari principalities or Zavolochyan tribes are in the game, and the Mordvins aren't even present in 867 or 936 bookmarks due to the Burtas owning the land where they should be. It might actually be useful if all of the relevant information about the Uralic tribes in Russia would be gathered and compiled into a thread, given that information about them is quite hard to come by, making it easier for both modders and developers alike to look up the relevant information should they want to add them in.

This is looking to be an excellent patch. I'm very pleased about the Fatimid bloodline, which makes an awful lot of sense given the Shi'i emphasis on lineage and the importance of the hereditary imamate. The new start date is perhaps the best-balanced one for the world as a whole, and I'm very happy about the interesting and fractured situation in Iran. Can't wait for Tuesday :).

And finally, the changelog for the new patch:
Please, don’t put the changelogs in the CODE tag. It might look nice with the paragraph indents and all, but it’s absolutely inconvenient to scroll left-right and back again over and over.

EDIT: I love you, @MonzUn.

Establish Castle Habsburg: For those of you who are particularly interested in weirdly shaped jawlines, we have added a decision to form Castle Habsburg. If you play as anyone of the Etichonen dynasty and hold the province of Basel, you will have the decision to establish the Habsburg castle. All close (living) relatives of the founder in question will become a part of the new von Habsburg dynasty.

Does this work with Etichonen character in the 769 and 867 bookmark as well?

Will the AI use this Decision?

Can we have a similar decision for turkish characters on the anatolian peninsular for the ottoman dunasty?

Can you show us the map changes?

It should work with any Etichonen character before the Habsburg dynasty has been formed (i.e, any bookmark before 1066). I believe the AI will use this decision as well.

Currently no plans to add any other decisions.

Can you show us the map changes?
