Been a pleasure working on this with HBS, always loved Battletech.

I remember when my boss back in 2017 asked if I was interested in working on this, my response was "I played a crazy amount of MechCommander back in the day" and that was that. Since then we've launched the game, three DLCs, numerous free updates, welcomed them into the PDX group, helped them grow to handle two projects at the same time and started two new projects.

The only downside is, along the way I got promoted and now no longer work directly on any projects. I still find plenty of reasons to go visit Seattle though, so much fun working them.

You never told me you played MechCommander!

I kind of expected to see the merc unit I have grown to love to be invoveld in the 4th Succession War, but it seems it will have to wait; hopefully not for too long. I hope this has not been the last word from Yang, Darius, Farah, Sumire and the Argo.

Hey, Mitch, "Mitch Plays to Not Lose" will continue for a time, yes? :)

I would like to officially state that I was hoping for so much more with this game and that I am thus sad and disappointed with this news.

However

I am thrilled to see that you guys have grown enough to move forward with not only one but two new projects and I am very excited to see them come to life!
Incidentally, I am wishing you the best success in those endeavours.
You guys are great!

Hi everyone,
I just want to thank HBS, all the developers, the players out here and everywhere, the (mod)-community and of course the inventors of BT!
This game was (and still is and will be) extremely inspiring! It is a great homage to the past and the "lore", but also just a great videogame ("just this one more mission tonight...")
Once again I feel a little sad, as I felt, wehen I had finished the novels of (classical) BT many years ago. But just like all the stories we all love: We can just go back to the beginning and start again! Let us go back to the Thunder Rift and watch the Gray Death Legion rise, let us go back into the periphery and help Lady Arano to regain her Empire, let us go back and once more testify the rise and fall of Aidan Pryde... And let us look forward to see, what the future might bring.
This is not an an ending, but just a hint to many doors still to (re-)open...
Alex

Definitely. Thank you Team HBS for all the Big and Stompy you’ve handed us, all the Big and Stompy you’ve made it possible for our Modding Community to craft for us and yes, for all the Big and Stompy yet to come from a soon to be even more empowered Modding Community. : )

Big thanks to HBS for making Battletech. It's currently on track to beat Stellaris, Terraria and Crusader Kings 2 on my "most played" list. It's a fantastic strategy game that has a whole lot of depth and nuance to it. I'm glad it has been a success for the team and I look forward to hearing about the projects you're working on as soon as you can announce them.

Thank you HBS for a great BT game! It's well worth it. (And thank you for not blowing up like Mechwarrior Tactics. :p)
Hoped for a better MP experience but my hope holds out for Mods or BT2 or ....

I hope to start Multiplayer trials of @bloodydoves Clan Mod Pack Beta this coming weekend... I will be upgrading my Patreon support of bloodydoves to its highest threshold so as to better and more strongly request Multiplayer considerations and functionalities.

This may benefit my own planned Challonge Tournaments akin to my earlier, 91-participant Valhalla, Tournament of Champions (pic below), as well as turn into something that benefits @Grayson Marik and his Inner Sphere Wars.

I just want to add my thanks to HBS for such an outstanding game. It has been everything I had hoped for in a BATTLETECH game and more. I only hope that this success encourages more exploration of the inner sphere and the rich universe of BATTLETECH in future projects. The team at HBS is top notch and I wish you all much more success in all your projects and hope the love of BATTLETECH you all have will keep you coming back with side projects large and small as we go forward from here. Thanks again! Well done!

I think I just realized why HBS throwing the towel on Battletech bugs me so much. It's because now, should someone want to pick up the torch and carry it forward, they'll probably end up having to battle Horrible Gremlins yet again, ugh.

*sigh* At any rate, thanks for the great work done HBS, and good luck on your future projects.

I understand how you feel. In bummed as well that there will not be more HBS Battletech (at least in the foreseeable future) :(

We don't really know if that is HBS's decision though. It might not be them "throwing in the towel". For all we know, maybe Paradox doesn't want to publish another Battletech game right now, maybe Microsoft is no longer licensing out Battletech for new games (they have their own plans for it now), or maybe some other company signed an exclusive licensing deal with Microsoft and we haven't seen evidence of it yet...Or maybe again, HBS is looking to make some new original stuff.

Its hard to say what is happening with the franchise or what the future holds. Either way, I am glad we had an HBS Battletech. I'm glad I had a chance to play an amazing entry in the series. In also glad HBS was the company to provide it. :)

BATTLETECH delivered some of the best tactical strategy in decades. I was really hoping for a clan war expansion with a slew of new mechs and new design options along with another fantastic space opera campaign to play through.

I will have to content myself with the fresh upcoming and likely genre defining games released by Paradox and HBS in the future. Thank you again for the hours of Dakka I have enjoyed, and the hours of Dakka I will enjoy in the future.

I am of disappoint that there will likely be no more for this wonderful game.
Would definitely keep paying.
