how do i choose my heirs education focus? i know how to do it when you ARE the kid but for the life of me i cant figure out how to set it as an educator

genuinely worried you just cant which would be a hell of a design decision on the part of pdx

You can only do that as the educator. There is for some reason no hint to set it - the best way is to NOT select an educator. When they get 6 you will then, and only then, get a reminder to select an educator. Use this to set the focus and select a matching educator.

The child needs to be 6 years old and at your court. I'm not sure if you can choose it as their educator, might have to be their liege. I normally wait till they are 6 for the notification that they need an educator, and then I decide which education focus/educator they need. Make sure you select an educator with a high skill attribute for the relevant education focus.

Question about spying for secrets
Can your spymaster find the secrets of your vassals if you put him in your court, or do you need to move him around into each vassals court individually? Your vassals can be invited to schemes as agents, so I'm guessing they kinda count as being in the court too?..

my son is in my court and i am educating him personally and im getting no such option. i feel like im going insane lads

i ran a couple games where i kept forgetting it doesnt work like ck2 anymore, and if you dont set an educator it doesnt default to you, and i did get the notification at age 6, but there was no option to set the education. maybe i didnt do it fast enough or something, idk

Are you opening the education focus selector and just not able to change it? It's a little button under the child's portrait to the left - you can't access it via right clicking them

yeah, see, yeah, thats what i was asking, i dont see any education focus selector. i hunted the full character page but its fully possible i just blinded it

ill run a test game and check real quick, might take a couple minutes

edit: yeah its right there, clear as day, goddamn

My experience is that you need to spy in each vassal's court individually.

Question; I have a war for the county. Another guy has declared war to my opponent and armies of new guy, neutral to me, is fighting my armies and breaking my sieges. Is it normal or some kind of bug? "Enemy of my enemy.. eee.. is my enemy ?!
 
So I decided to start a new campaign, but no matter what I do Achievements seemed to be disabled? I have Ironman enabled, no mods, no rules that block achievements, but no matter what it doesn't enable achievements. I've earned achievements in the past, I don't know why it won't allow me to now.
 
France. I am a count who is a direct vassal of the King. I need the county next door to become a Duke. It is owned by its own count who is under a duke who is under my king.

So. If I declare war directly on the count to claim the title I want, the whole kingdom is predicted to come in and beat me up. Reasonable. However if I declare war on his liege (the Duke), I can claim the title and fight only the Duke and his direct allies. Is this a display bug? Ironman or I'd test...

Edit: I rolled the dice. Turns out that early start France is more based on family ties than feudal ones. So not a bug.

Started a game as Montaigu in 867. There are 3 Baronies in this county, 2 without any Holdings. I want to build a city in one of them but I am unable to. I can click on the Construct new Holding button and when the next screen pops up, the 3 options are grayed out. It appears I meet the requirements to build a city or temple, ie I have the 500 gold and I don't see any other requirements.

Tooltips have a time delay before they become active. The default delay is 1.5 seconds. If you wait that long, you will see the border change and then you can highlight it.

You can change the delay in the settings.
