Anyone figure out how to change county capital? I conquored and arch-bishopric and I want to change it to a regular county by making my barony there the top holding.

There should be a button next to the Holding name (not county name)

It does not appear if it is not your Holding

Should I play tutorial first when I've played CK2 for, like, couple of thousand hours?

It is mostly "core things" that you should know from CK2, but it might have a few new things so it might be worth running through quickly

How can I view title histories?
Like, who where the previous rulers of a county, or kingdom?

There is a button with a book at the top of the view of the title

Can a cadet branch have its own cadet branch?

A member of a certain cadet branch can form a new cadet branch, though they all belong to the same Dynasty.

thal with another character, how do I make them actually marry when they come of age? I see the option to break the betrothal, but not to go ahead and carry it out.

When both characters are adults (16 or older) you get a notification at the top of the screen to confirm it and turn it into a marriage

Do we really need to use a hook everytime to get some one to be invited to our court?

Compared to CK2, it is difficult to simply invite someone to your Court. Instead, Guests appear at your court that you can recruit. However, you can still invite specific characters if you have a hook on them (as you wrote), or if they are close family (though this is rare)

What's the mathematical relationship between:

Levies (peasants)
Men-at-arms (retinue)
Knights?

I want to figure out if it's preferable to invest in knights 1rst then men-at-arms or vice versa. And why?

Each Soldier in an Army has a Damage and a Toughness value. For Levies, they have 10 of both. Men-at-Arms varies between each type (they also have Pursuit and Screen). Knights have 10 points of Toughness and 100 points of Damage for each point of Prowess.

How can I see the Crown Authority of my Liege? I just got a nasty supprise when I tried to push the claim I just fabricated and found out I needed a hook on my liege due to the realm's laws. I can see my own realm's laws in the Realm tab and my liege's succession laws and line of succession when I click on his primary title, but I can't figure out where I can see his crown authority.

Under his name there is an icon for it.

do our characters no longer have opinions of others? or is it all player decision

No, your own character has no opinion of others (well, they do but it is never shown nor does it have any effect)

I'm trying to find stress level but I can't seem to figure out where it is.

As a tribal count, is it good to raise men at arms in peace time or just when I get in a war?

I see they cost prestige to make and maintain too right?

Men-at-Arms have two maintenance costs: one "full" when they are raised or reinforcing, and one "unraised" when they are no longer reinforcing and unraised. Keeping them raised outside of war will increase your costs, unless they are also reinforcing.

Hi!
I have -515 Prestige. It is possible or this is a bug? When yes, it's possible, what's mean?

This is possible, due to events etc being able to take away Prestige from you. -500 does seem like quite a lot though, but it could have been multiple events.

Am I right in saying I can't grant a Barony title?

I'm over my domain limit, but the only titles I can grant are the same as mine.

You should be able to.

I cant join a multiplayer game says wrong checksum

Make sure you and the host are using the same mods, and that Steam has updated your game to the latest version (restart steam)
Also, right-click Crusader Kings 3 in your library, and choose Properties. Then go to the Local Files tab and click on "Verify Integrity of Game Files"

Can anyone answer my earlier question or has experienced the same thing? Renaming Byzantium turns it into "Empire of the [whatever you changed the name to]". Bug or am I missing a toggle???

Custom names for titles are always on the form of "Title_Name of Custom_Name", so Kingdom of Heaven, County of Counting. The Holy Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, and the Roman Empire Titles all have custom logic to drop the "Empire of", so it is not possible to rename your Titles in this way.

This is my question also. Seems like no one knows right now. My grandnephew had lower prestige, lower piety, was younger than me, AND had fewer titles but was appointed as dynasty head instead of me. Really? How exactly is it selected then???

Maybe it goes down through the "main" branch of the dynasty, over higher ranking people in other branches? I dont know.

I don't recall exactly, but to become Dynasty Head you must (as a House Head) exceed the current Heads Military Strength by a bit of a margin, and wait until it is checked (within a year IIRC)

What is actually the difference between leasing and owning with regards to the realm priest? What would be different if the realm priest just owns all bishoprics and they are inherited via clerical appointment?

I think the main distinction is that your realm priest is not landed, and cannot fight wars and so on. And, in wars you as a ruler are controlling it from a defense/warscore standpoint.

I checked. Level of devotion doesn't show up int the tooltip, but it's not connected to the language settings:

Is anybody else experiencing this "issue"? Just a minor thing, I know.

@Mrop :
Are you using an internal build for screenshots by chance?

Might be that I looked at myself, or that I looked at our current latest build yes.

So just to be clear, you're saying the HRE/Byzantium/Roman Empire cannot be renamed without breaking the formula? Surely this is a bug and not WAD, right?

Well, it depends on your perspective :) It works as intended (so it will replace Kingdom of X by Sultanate of X as cultures change), it just doesn't have the feature of being able to override that prefix.

Is there a way to revert audio for the UI? This Legends of the Dead update gives me a popcorn popping sound when I scroll over couriers and a few other things, and I don't like it. I want to revert to the previous UI audio.
Unfortunately at this time - this is not possible without reverting your entire game - I can however give you the next best thing and supply you with this .gif of a popcorn popping that you can have on in the background - and perhaps you'll start to find the new UI scrolling sound fitting.

I hope this helps!
