No problem about the silk road, I was just curious. Instead of that, I wonder if there are any rulers that are genius?

I didn't expect Turkish culture to grow this strong, in many games they disappear. So until recently a big chunk of India was ruled by a Turkish ruler, and the Rum is founded as well. Did any provinces convert to the culture as well?

Geniuses, is there any easy way to check? Rum is active in both 1187 and 1204 starts with nice hold on Asia Minor (Anatolia, what is preferred term for Turkey's Asia part). The 1204 start Sultanate of Oghuz was huge and an insult to me. I was playing as the Oghuz dynasty but never ruled the Oghuz emirate or sultanate. The later starts have large Sunni groups in northern India. Province conversion is very slow and tough to check. It would be nice if the ledgers gave fun info like culture and religious conversions of provinces.

My top five leaders are lucky to sign their names. Six of fourteen (4yo 1200 Saladin excluded) have not exceed genius twenty-five points.

somewhere on the bottom right there's the character search button, there you can filter. In the textbox you can write genius while selecting Yes to Ruler.

Ooooh I always start at one of 2 early start dates so all my memories about the game is based off them. Of course at that date there would be Rum. Of course no need to check province by province.

I realized the search character after typing original and was saving for present for you. Once i get genius rulers, then I sort by rank to get big names for you. I am currently in four start dates in fifty-four year span and am amazed by differences.

26 May 1250 Tibetan Mountains

LANDSLIDE!!! Before @generalis Julius Caesar could even gather status reports, he noticed that the camels were highly upset . . . the elderly but reliable Uncle Fester was missing. Liridon and @Austregisel report that all of the AmazingAdventurousReaders were safe except @El Pip. Soon @El Pip and Uncle Fester were spied . . . trapped on a narrow ledge. @generalis Julius Caesar hastily dispatches his fastest rider, jmerc13, on his personal mount, Humpday, south to the City of Elephants, Hastinapur capital of Rajasthan for additional help. Shahanshah Bahman sends the awesome but mercenary A-Team north with orders to have the AAReaders in the City of Elephants by 2 June for a Crown Banquet. @generalis Julius Caesar and Col. Hannibal Smith are directing the rescue from high upon Jumbo's back. B.A. is directing the locals (brought to the site by Chinese WarLord @Zamarak500) in rock removal, troopers and AAReaders are pitching in wherever possible, the camels led by Gomez and Morticia are transporting people around the work zone and the elephants led by Peanut and Mouse are providing heavy lifting. FaceMan, Dewey Cheatem and @Zamarak500; are each busy trying to get the largest share of the disaster funds for themselves. But @El Pip and Uncle Fester would remain trapped on the narrow ledge until Howling Mad and Dumbo took to the air. With harnesses secured, the fearless foursome would beat @generalis Julius Caesar and Hannibal's elephant/camel caravan by days to Hastinapur.

1 June 1250 the jungle city of Hastinapur (city of elephants in Sanskrit)

The AAReaders would see two boys squirting water on Dumbo and three girls brushing Uncle Fester's coat. Other children could be seen tossing peanuts to the two animals. The peanuts were B.A.'s personal trove that had been grown by a Virginia planter known simply as Mister. Howling Mad and @El Pip would be found smoking Cuban cigars, sipping forty year old scotch out of brandy snifters, working on a tapestry and being interviewed by investigative reporter Tia. B.A., FaceMan and Hannibal would hastily dismount and advance towards Howling Mad. From high upon Jumbo's back, @generalis Julius Caesar could be heard exclaiming "I Love It When an AAR Comes Together."

The Empire of Rajasthan advances from #3 to #2 while gaining 67 holdings. The capital has been moved east from the plains along the Indus River to the border jungle city of Hastinapur along the Ganges. The 253 holdings are spread among 88 counties. Rajasthan's leadership timeline:

19 March 1190 23yo Säm Ghurid inherits the Empire of Rajasthan.
17 August 1231 64yo Shahanshah Säm dies in his sleep. His 41yo son Farrukhzad Ghurid inherits the Empire of Rajasthan.
7 May 1236 46yo Shahanshah Farrukhzad is killed in combat with Chigu of the Mongol Empire. His 20yo son Nawid Ghurid inherits the Empire of Rajasthan.
18 June 1246 30yo Shahanshah Nawid dies after a lengthy illness. His 12yo son Bahman Ghurid inherits the Empire of Rajasthan.
15yo Persian Sunni Shahanshah Bahman is yet to finish his schooling but has begun to show a diplomatic skill (10-5-7-5-4). Shahanshah Bahman's 31 points exceed Kaiser Magnus and King Fulk and only trail Sultan Saladin by 3 points. Besides the imperial throne, Shahanshah Bahman controls two duchies and four counties. His skills would allow one more holding. The Empire of Rajasthan has three kings, two dukes, five counts and seven barons as vassals.

15 yo Shahanshah Bahman and his nineteen thousand man army are defending the Duchy of Uttaranchal (3 counties, northern India) from 13yo Gyelmo Jetsunma of Phagmodrupa (Tibet). Gyelmo Jetsunma has declared a Buddhist Holy War for the duchy. Shahanshah Bahman also is burning off 7 bad boy points that has upset Eastern, Muslim and Pagan rulers.

Shahanshah Bahman has invited renowned author, @Eurasia to deliver the keynote speech at the banquet honoring the AAReaders. @Eurasia's speech is rudely interrupted by the arrival of Lord Meow-Meow on the back of a beautiful white Bengal Tiger. Eight elephants have moved to guard the doors with a multitude of monkeys causing mischief and mayhem. Lord Meow-Meow presents the Shahanshah a petition for animal rights and a request for asylum for Rajah, the white Bengal.

Wait, am I skiming money out of the diaster unds? Am I corrupt?
Thank you for commenting and welcome to the AmazingAdventurousReaders. You are no more corrupt than any Chinese warlord that provides protection to a Tibetan village whether during the rule of the Han or the rule of Mao and all times in between. You are merely trying to ensure that the villagers who are under your 'protection' are fairly compensated for their labors. But beware, you are negotiating with Templeton Peck, financial officer for the A-Team, and Dewey Cheatem, founder of the firm Dewey, Cheatem and Howe (aka Do We Cheat Them And How). Also @generalis Julius Caesar is representing Genghis Khan. If you do not have to pay to allow the villagers to do the work, then you should consider that a victory.

Would you like to be the AAReaders' liaison with Flamur Progonovic during the upcoming 1275 worldchecks? You and Flamur will be mentioned most episodes. Flamur will be a little different from Liridon who did 75% of the work for 25% of the credit. You can also choose to help the AAReaders to get from one location to another. Probably will be used once or twice. If being a guide, you can choose a rank and unit or ship name. But beware, there is a crusade in 1275 and we will spend time in a warzone.

Thank you for participating.

Addendum to the Rajasthan report.

Anne Howe and her dedicated staff is crediting Gyelmo Jetsunma with a fifty-six point lead in her Holy War for Uttaranchal. Shahanshah Bahman screamed gender bias and "Chicks Stick Together". While he may have a point, I would not want an angry Anne Howe figuring my lifespan.

Next, we will journey back to Dyrrachion for the 1250 wrap up and the AmazingAdventurousReaders will return to the 21st century.

FAVOR: Everyone please go to Q1 2021 ACAs and vote for your favorite AARs. You may vote up to four times for your favorites in each of eight categories. FYI HoI3 is other rather HoI3 as I voted. Also, there is an unwritten rule against voting for yourself. You can find a link on most forums. I would love to see enough people vote that Anne Howe's calculator blows up and @Nikolai has to buy her another. @Nikolai, thank you for running the awards. Voting ends Sunday May 9.

Thank you for reading.

10 June 1250 Hastinapura (City of Elephants)

Shahanshah Bahman tells Liridon and @Austregisel that he will loan a special forces squad under the command of @marko river to the AmazingAdventurousReaders, if they will allow his 11yo brother Ayeshah to go along and see the world. Assistant steward Martin would accompany them as Ayeshah's guardian. The elephant caravan proceeds westward to the banks of the Indus. Steward Martin arranges for a legendary waterman known simply as Candyman to float the group to the Arabian Sea aboard rafts.

14 June 1250 Karachi on the Arabian Sea

While Liridon, @Austregisel and steward Martin are trying to arrange passage East; the Candyman approaches them and offers to carry them to Suez on his new merchant ship the Flying Fish. Some say that Candyman traded his raft flotilla for the ship, others that he won the ship in a poker game and a few say that he stole the ship. Arriving at Suez, the AAReaders/Indians join a camel caravan that includes a few horses and even a donkey.

26 June 1250 Alexandria, Egypt

As the learned scholars spend time at Alexandria's famed library, Liridon arranges with renowned Phoenician trader @Kazanov to transport the group to Dyrrachion aboard the Tyre Tamale. @diskoerekto announces that the final briefing will be aboard ship to maximize time with the Progonovics in Dyrrachion. Ayeshah asks Martin if they can listen. Martin replies "We will sit in the back, keep quiet and appear to belong." (This sounds like me in church.)

Basileus Manuel II is represented by his son and heir, Michael. King Fulk dispatches the younger brother of an Irish count. @Bullfilter plods to the mountainside tomb of his fifty year friend, Doux Gjin, for a final rememberance. @HistoryDude and Uncle Visar converse quietly. @Austregisel thanks Cousin Liridon for all his help. Just before the Wayback Machine's doors close, Alek runs to @diskoerekto and tearfully stutters "I will miss you". @diskoerekto returns the bear hug and chokes out "Twenty-five years will pass in the blink of an eye. Thank you for replying. Alek is not quite twelve and has seen a lifetime of tragedy. Big brother Muzaka, who shares a birthday with Alek, dies when Alek is one. Uncle Aleksander was murdered. Sister Teuta died in a foreign dungeon. Brother Pëllumb died after being beaten by pissants while collectiong taxes for their father. Both parents have died within last eight months. Alek is also very private (no friend, lover or rival as of age 41). Alek is about to suffer another tragic loss.

Dear @HistoryDude, with deepest regret I must inform you that my beloved Uncle Visar was tragically murdered. He was 53 when he was struck down five days ago. The pissant peckerheads remain unknown. When I find them, rest assured that they will rue the day that their grandparents met. Thank you for your friendship with him through the years. Sorrowfully, Doux Alek

10 June 1268

Dear @Austregisel, I write to inform you that my Cousin Liridon died on the 7th. He was only 53, but he had suffered crippling injuries on the Crusade. Bishop Evangelos says that Saint Peter holds the Gates of Heaven wide open for Crusaders. He always spoke fondly of working with you. Hope to see you in 1275, Doux Alek (Observe the date, this is the Crusade that we will venture to in 1275.)

@Zamarak500, you have volunteered (you did not say no) to be liaison with Cousin Flamur. While Liridon did 75% of the work for 25% of the credit. Expect the opposite on days that Flamur is generous. Flamur is a 36yo Arberian Orthodox. He is a 20 intrigue Intricate Webweaver. A natural spymaster (10 base), he adds envious, deceitful and slothful. (@Zamarak500, if you do not want to participate, I will find another volunteer (draftee)).

@diskoerekto, Alek is a 31yo Arberian Catholic. He is a 17-10-6-12-6 Elusive Shadow. His traits include honest, cruel, charitable, diligent and brave. He is much his father's son, sharing honest, cruel, brave and being an Elusive Shadow. He has found a battlefield challenger who wanted to avenge the Caliph on family Progonovic. Alek repeats his father's style, you die me not injured. He is married to Princess Georgia, granddaughter of Basileus Manuel II and daughter of the murdered Basileus Michael VIII. In 1275, Alek is the Byzantine Magistros (chancellor). The Angelos family is back in power. (At one point, a celibate Basileus was married to his own niece.)

While @diskoerekto guessed that the HRE's leader would be a different religion (Orthodox) and Rajasthan's leader would be from a different culture (native Hindustani); I am still welcoming guesses for the other four questions:

1) Leader alive and in 1275 top five.
2) Leader alive but heading a different realm and not in top five.
3) Realm that dropped out of top five.
4) Newcomer to top five. (in 1250 6-9 post 213).
@diskoerekto's two requests were Turkish rulers and geniuses. This will be presented between our visit to #5 and #4. In 1280, there were 93 Turkish rulers with at least one holding and several mercenary company leaders. The cut off for presentation is twenty holdings (that leaves seven and an independent count). 21 geniuses rule at least a barony but only 7 are count level (cut off point). Would anyone like to guess the realm (not top 21) of the genius king?

While I will attempt to honor all research requests, I would love to do a deep dive into either France, Iberia or Maghreb!

When I encouraged everyone to vote on the ACAs, I was not soliciting votes for myself. I will be the first to acknowledge that the March posts were not very good, I feel that April has improved. I greatly appreciate that Avon Las received a nomination for favorite CK2 AAR.

AmazingAdventurousReaders, I will see you in 1275. When we will look at religion (several items caught my interest), meet the dropout and I will begin to reveal some information that I have collected for the first time.

Background on King Fulk/Queen Teuta marriage: When a person turns 16, unless previously betrothed, the ruler escorts them to the Three Sisters (Charity, Kindness and Harmony) and finds them a spouse. On 9 February 1237, Doux Gjin escorted his niece Luljeta to CKHarmony. Kindness presented a betrothal to King Fulk of England (#2) while Harmony countered with a betrothal to King William of Aquitaine (Fulk's cousin, #6). (I drooled on my keyboard.) But Charity held fast to her recommendation of 66yo Emir Raimond of Antioch (Sultan Saladin's French Catholic Magistros). Within a year, she would return and later marry King Kulin II of Croatia. On 27 May 1223, Charity arranges a betrothal for Teuta with 14yo King Fulk (top choice).

Everyone, thank you for reading and until we meet again, PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!

Thank you for replying. Would you have to quarantine if you never leave airport? They are coming from almost eight centuries in the past, there are probably bigger worries than Chinese SuperFlu. Australian quarantines are not new. The equestrian events for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games were held in Stockholm due to Australian quarantine regulations.

True, though the animal ones have always been longer. Not sure, but transit passengers would probably be ok - if there are any flights!

On Sydney airport, I am imagining Eagle Hotel California where you arrive but can not leave. On research, the question is not whether I should research France and check for an early Iberian wedding but what to do with research: a) keep to myself b) share with @diskoerekto by pm since he answered contest question c) someone answers and I post on forum for all to view.
