I've completed the restructuring of the Central Germanic cultural map but I've got one last doubt. Since the Silesian culture is already present, should I also split off the Germanic Pomeranian culture from the "saxon" tag?
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. Are you trying to add cultures and not just fix up cultural borders for various dates? I'd hope not since I already went a little overboard with cultures and Symmachus is still finding characters I missed from the cultures I've already done.

Aside from the fact I've added -on my end, I've yet to upload them- the older versions of Franconian, Bavarian and Alemannic, already assigned to the right provinces and pertinent pre-existing characters, Germanic Pomeranian, like Silesian, would appear on the world map on culture mod, but there wouldn't be any characters associated with it.

What's the reason for older versions of the cultures if no one is ever assigned to them (it also then causes gameplay issues of negative opinion malus' on the county level)? What dates are they in? You'd also need to have an event to make the cultures change which also would mean you'd need to create new regions in the map regions file.

I think you misunderstood, among what you've mentioned the only things I've yet to do are setting up the custom regions for the splitting and writing the event itself, I've already assigned provinces and characters accordingly, so the bulk of the work is done. I asked whether to create Germanic Pomeranian or not because you had already split the Saxon culture yourself ( the Ostelbisch ). As for why I create the older versions of pre-existing cultures, it's to show language evolution. Why else do you think I doubled the size of the CTP compatch with localized titles?

I'd just use thr culture I already made
 
Be honest, if you want me to roll back the changes I made to the culture roster on my end just say so, it wouldn't even take much time. It's just that CK3, like CK2 before it, really brings out my inner nerd when it comes to modding it.

Yea I get it's fun to detail things like that. Personally I don't see a reason to add any further cultures since that may just be getting a bit more detailed than what is really needed though I guess even HIP did that to a point (by just making everyone but the Saxons become 'German' in the late 1100's since they based things on the nobility rather than what the populace spoke).

One thing with CK3 that makes me wonder if it's good to melting pot cultures is how it may impact innovations. Turning Anglo-Saxons into Anglo-Norse in 870 isn't going to be as big of a deal as say changing a culture in 1200. There is a get_all_innovations_from effect which could probably be put into the event somehow.

In the end I guess it can work out as long as you make sure characters are properly set. Also make sure whatever files you edit keep up with current file changes.

About the splitting events, do you want them like the Norse one, as in with a notification and the option to resist the change, or having them happen in the background regardless will do?
 
Aside from the splitting events, I've uploaded nearly every change I made. I didn't manage to change character 1065700, in italian.txt, from "bavarian" to "old_bavarian" because the file's too big and I couldn't edit it.
 
It's hard for me to figure out what may be causing that when it works for so many others. What other addons are you using? Is the mod in your playset and activated?
Have the same problem as him and i don't have any addons besides this one and it's In playset and activated. I play from the xbox gamepass maybe that's why

i'm not using any other addons, literally vanilla game, have Fashion of the Abbasid Court, Garments of the HRE, and the Northern Lords DLC. I launch up the game and still the vanilla crappy bookmarks, and if I change the GUI settings nothing happens. The mod is in my playset and activated yes. Is there a specific resolution thats required? I've tried all GUI sizes and they haven't worked.
 
Still not working, i read some tickets in the forum but nothing solved my problem, i installed everything new, have only this mod activated and it didnt work, the only mod that is working for me is the community flavour mod, no other mod works for me, even not this great mod that i want to experience but cannot why ever!
