So, for now I am able to play the game on my guest PC, which is not really meant for gaming anymore. This PC does not meet the minimum requirements so it is low resolution, low detail, and low performance, and the game still crashes a lot - but I can play a little bit at least, though it would be much more comfortable on my main PC. So far the furthest I got into the game on the main PC is to the first frame of the paradox logo appearing.
I have tried everything I could think of, including installing windows updates I wanted to avoid, just in case there is some obscure requirement, unplugging everything but the bare essentials, shutting down every piece of not strictly needed software, including services, disabling freesync on my main monitor, setting the refresh rate to 60hz.
Is there any clue at all what this crash could be related to?
Anything more I could try on my end?
Just now I was playing on the guest PC, and after a crash the game updated (hotfix branch as well as it seems a bit more stable), so I thought I'd test the update on the main PC, but it still crashes the same way. While writing this there was another update, and still the very same crash.
Is there any place where you guys post when you update the hotfix version? And maybe what you tried to fix in the latest update? I understand if not, as it seems to be very temporary, but it would be nice to see the progress.
This is the name of the latest crash dump on my main PC: AOW4_Crash_2023-05-03-17-52-52_B7DC6C49.tcd
