My review is negative but It will change to positive once and if the game can reach those achivements. which it can do if CO keep working for the next years.

Same here, I put a very bad review on steam in the form of a parody, if the game becomes really very interesting I will change the rating but unfortunately since the game came out, there has not been much especially for those who bought the ultimate version in pre-order...

I read it as they would not release them because they cost money and their main priority is to fix the released game BEFORE adding more paid content.

Which based on the backlash from the beach assets pack seems wise. They are doing what the community wanted. Fixing the game even if it takes a long time and not asking for money while that happens.

I am okay with that.
The beach assets was a disaster. You'd think after the initial CS 2 release would have been a learning moment. Ouch.

I will say it again, this game was pushed out of the door when it not even in beta stage, and right now it is still in beta. I suggest waiting till next year to see where this game stands as for right now, I don't see anything happening much with this game. Its just sad the one of the most popular city building game of all time, that had such good community and great vibes, has come down to this just because bad decisions were made.

It probably has to do with them wanting to make further improvements to the game before releasing any more paid DLC.
Yes, but then they should just say that. People have been asking for honesty and this nonsense about “split focus” isn’t honest and is quite frankly an insult of our intelligence. They clearly haven’t learnt anything from the almost 12 months of disastrous communications .

Instead of working on content creator packs they should have been working on the issues and the DLC that were paid for!
Coincidence ore not? the content creator packs are pushed to Q4 (Christmas) and I bet they are not free!

Can you please be transparent with the community about why you refused to use Steam Workshop in the first place. It seems - fairly or unfairly - that you have thrown good money after bad to create a modding solution when one already existed.

While it is good to have these updates, they really say very little, and ultimately keep us in the dark. Timelines are broad and ill-defined, detail on what is happening is scarce, and it feels like the goodwill that was generated earlier this year is being exploited rather than built upon

Could this be sticked/advertised like other announcements. This has been discussed multiple times in the past, but negative announcement get "hidden" in a way other announcements are not. This reflects very poorly on the team.

To be fair the PDX mod thing (despite his many flaws) is not the problem. They could upload asset on there. The problem is they cannot load assets in the game. The game engine is the problem, not the mod platform. As with everything else, the problem is the half finished game they released.

Once again Paradox/CO is out with more hand wringing and excuse-begging when they ONCE AGAIN miss a promised target goal for a release of their product. I said it once many many months ago when the issues first started happening and I'll say it now again. CS2 is a flaming TURD of a dumpster fire and the company should be ashamed for having released it into the wild.

It's quite simple. If they release paid content before the base game is properly fixed, they will be review bombed and sales & reputation will suffer.

Personally, I think it's the right call to properly patch all the bugs in the base game first and then when most everyone have a better sentiment about the game, they can start to sell DLC's and other content which now will be perceived as a positive thing, which in turn would bolster the longevity of this game long term.

At least that is my approach I am taking before spending any more money on this game. We'll see how it all plays out sooner or later :)
Dude, the game is already a dumpster fire of a turd and review-bombed to hell and CO's reputation is already in the toilet...

How exactly would releasing the already completed creators packs “split focus”?
Without Virtual Texturing, it sounds like the game will increase maximum specs requirements to need an RTX 5090. That will definitely cause the dev team to split up between getting the performance better and fixing the Virtual Texturing at the same time, which is what "splitting focus" is hinting at. I don't want devs to split up, and I wanted them to focus on one big epic of these user stories.

I'm glad we have a private beta group, but I don't know if the beta group consists of both the beta testers as well as asset creators, so that they can test out the asset sharing aspects.

The modding community is almost dead, a month goes by and there is only some creator that adds prints, at this point I almost prefer that the packages that we have paid for more than 1 year ago are released so we can have some fresh air in the game while the asset editor update that is so long awaited arrives.
If not at least I trust that those of us who have paid 90 euros for all the content this year and have kept the commitment to wait and support the company will see some other compensation. The summer was too long...
I agree that "The modding community is almost dead,". I've not seem much activity. I continue to play for "a few hours" after each patch, then move on to something else. This game (when I start it) just gives me "Been there, done that" Vibes, so I have lost the enthusiasm to play.

Since the goal is to delay content until further improvements are made or the “community is satisfied”, I find it strange that CO/PDX didn’t simply postpone the content indefinitely or at the very least set a target that’s farther out (Q3 2025 for CCPs and Q4 2025 for Ports/Bridges).

I’m a UE customer and would love the content to be released. But if you’re going to set a quality or satisfaction pre-requisite to DLCs, at least be honest with yourselves and us about how long it’s going to take to reach your self imposed target based on the speed and quality of development since release.

I hope the Asset Editor is released by the end of this year but no indication was given about how far along the virtual texturing and serialization features are at this point.
Similarly, the list of bugs affecting players since day 1 is still significant (mail, cargo, solar, flickering, the police building that doesn’t do anything).

I’ll see y’all when the next patch releases. To be clear, I’m rooting for you CO/PDX. You have my patience and understanding. But I think you’re still lying to yourselves and us unfortunately. :/

I am not sure. I read "The two Creator Packs ... have been completed by their creators. " But what does that mean exactly? The creators finished working on it, I suppose. And after the creators finished their work, does that mean there would be nothing to do for CO other than push them out of the door? Or would CO have to work with them before that is possible?

They have been. It's about making assets available on consoles.

Iirc they need to be imported/patched into the game by CO, which without a completed asset editor is an extensive task
