"While the asset editing features are not fully complete yet"

Good grief, what on earth is going on in the studio? Just before the game released one of your team told us on the stream that asset modding is just days or weeks away and would very quickly be available after launch. The game was released 1 year ago!!

Guessing there will be no mod editor this side of Xmas now. With this 'workaround' buying your even more time to try and get a core feature built.

I won't be reinstalling until this happens, not will I pick up any DLC for this mess

@co_avanya looking for clarification on hotel spawning

  • Existing cities will need to zone commercial or bulldoze existing commercial buildings for hotels to appear in the city. Keep in mind that tourists will need leisure and attractions to visit, so make sure your city has these. Good public transport both to/from and within the city can help increase the number of tourists.
Does this mean hotels will never appear in commercial areas that have already spawned commercial buildings? Asking because if so it sounds like players are being told to whack-a-mole existing commercial until a hotel appears, which seems less than ideal from a gameplay perspective. I’m hoping this guidance is meant only for existing cities as a workaround and not for new cities created after the patch.

Generally a building cannot be replaced by another building unless its already abandoned.

New buildings can only spawn if there is a plot available. Plots become available if a building gets abandoned, but that is a rather slow process and if you have a good economy very few commercial buildings will be vacated. Therefore, if you want hotels you either have to delete some commercial buildings or create new commercial zoning for new buildings to spawn in.

still no fix for trucks or vans not spawning from industry??
It's insane that this has been going on for several months now. A city builder with no industry traffic is just ridiculous.

It's going to be hilarious when they finally fix this bug and the industry "dead zones" people have built in their cities suddenly get flooded with trucks and vans again. People will be complaining so much about traffic...

  • Adjusted air pollution. Overall, more air pollution is generated, it spreads slightly more, and dissipates slower.

wait, what?
There's already too much industries with air pollution in the game, and you're adding more?
This games isn't based in the 1800 iirc...

Glad to see patches but is there a road map for getting basic building working? Example: postal sorting facility. Expensive building that does nothing due to being bugged. Casual players don't know it is bugged. Can't expect people to keep up with what works and what doesn't. Why not disable the building in-game until fixed?

The Paradox Team told us it would be days/weeks; they mis-communicated at best or intentionally misled/lie at worst (choose your poison). They've now repeatedly apologized and have been fairly transparent about facing significant technical challenges, hiring consultants, etc. to try to resolve these issues as quickly as possible given the resources they have. I'm sharing this in case you weren't aware :)

It's a crappy situation for all involved. I hear your frustration, and I share it. As a UE Customer who loves this game I'm on this forum more than I'd like to admit. All things considered, I hope that in spite of the rough road thus far we can all enjoy the improvements that have been made and the region packs that will be made available over the next 2 months.

CO/PDX didn't have to find a workaround; they intentionally chose to pursue one because of our feedback and frustrations. I hope people notice that as well.

Glad to see an update but also a bit disappointing. The tourism fix is a bug fix of the previous fix so it doesn't feel like a real update. Unfortunately only a pathfinding fix for busses and trams but still nothing for the insane lane switching behaviour, not an update for the junctions priority tool to make it useful, a more realistic pedestrian behaviour (not walking insane distances). Please put them high on your priorities instead of a line tool! Also the UI improvements, in this category I would rather have seen you fix the grafic issues with lightning, shadows and LOD's.
We get some new content, that's great but with a catch: the editor import function is still not available and still no timeline for release. So overall not a real anniversary feeling here for one of my favorite games, unfortunately.

Well, I don't know. Don't want to sound ungrateful but it seems to me many of these fixes, like some of the UI stuff, were lacking in proper priority. Although my RTX4070 isn't the top video card, I think my game should run better and without visual artifacts; all without being able to fry an egg on it. We still have water in tunnels, destructive re-zoning problems when adding/removing streets,or paths, ugly path/tunnel junctions, the missing video details of CS1, etc. Again, I hate to be negative, but some time back I expressed that I didn't believe this development team was able to "tame the monster they created", and indirectly they're letting us know that is true. In another very important matter, we're still expecting a detailed explanation from CO/Paradox on what they owe the Ultimate Edition buyers, and for some reason they're choosing to remain silent about that subject. So, thanks for this patch, but... ....
