I had a city with nearly 70k with no residential demand until I eliminated all parks and rerouted my bus lines out of the city, demand took time to begin again. My pop skyrocketed to 100k and then demand was at full. When I placed a park the population increase halted so I removed the park and the population increase continued. This game was started before the patch.

I think it might have messed something up with my save as well in a way similar to MrSpock1979.

My city experienced a complete cratering of residential demand out of nowhere. Not in the usual "Oh you are missing something, demand drops" sorta way. Like... total cratering. Tried a multitude of things to try and fix it, but no luck (Things include reload, game restart, reloading earlier save points to try and replicate, fix any potential pressing issues like education/increase other zones/road routing/healthcare/letting the game run to see if it changes/etc... and it tanks at around the same time (June 2031). After it bottoms out, ALL outside "move in" cim migration into the city completely stops, and no residential buildings get built, nor rebuilt at all (the first thing that clued me in to feeling it was a bug was the complete lack of any demand fluctuation even after deleting every residential building in town. Commercial and industrial fluctuated from doing so, but Res was just... dead. Like if that function just got completely deleted). So, I dont think I can play the game, or at least this particular city, until this issue gets fixed...

No mods were used, though the map is the "Liberty City" map from the pdx mods menu in game. I have a recording of the bars tanking, but wont let me upload.

It seems that the issue was being caused by the preexisting parks. I had a similar issue where all residential demand completely cratered, and any cim migration into my city residential-wise completely went full stop. Once I went full reverse captain planet here the residential values that utterly cratered started working again, with people moving into the city once again. Thank you for posting this solution!

That definitely needs to be addressed.

So the parks where the homeless called home are now an issue

I didn't try deleting and adding parks, but seem to have the same bug.
I thought I'd give the game another try (after stopping playing for months), to look at the French pack, but never got a single house added to my city of 400k. green bars at at zero.
Putting game back to sleep again....

In another thread, there is a suggestion that more welfare offices would help. I added about 6, and it partially helped (inconclusive), as I get a higher number of people moving in to town, but even though move in + births is 1000s more than move away and deaths, my pop went up a little, then started showing a red arrow, and not moving.

Hi Team,

I’ve been playing Cities: Skylines 2 for over a year now, purchasing it even before the release. Despite the initial bugs and performance issues, I’ve been patient and optimistic, appreciating the potential of this game and waiting for patches to address these concerns. But now, I feel there is a limit, and I urge you to take stronger action to resolve these persistent issues.

Since your latest patch, I’ve been unable to load my saved city—something I’ve built with time and care, now the fifth or sixth attempt, as previous saves became similarly unplayable. I’ve tried every recommended step: clearing the cache, validating files, and playing without mods, yet nothing has worked. It’s both frustrating and disheartening, as the game has become less a source of relaxation and more a point of stress. This is a wonderful game with immense potential, and I have confidence it can become something truly great, but it requires more attention and consistency to reach that potential.

What I’m asking for is clearer communication on what’s being done to address these problems and an understanding of what players like me—who have supported and stayed hopeful for this game—can expect going forward. If there’s a timeline or a larger patch anticipated, please let us know. This is not just a game; for many of us, it’s a way to disconnect and relax. However, the issues make that impossible, leading to more frustration than enjoyment.

I was especially excited to try out the new creator pack to enhance my city, but now I’m left wondering if I’ll need to start from scratch again. I have a powerful PC, so I can confidently say this is not a hardware issue. Please understand the impact of these unresolved issues on dedicated players.

Thank you for your attention and consideration.

Best regards,
Ben

It seems to be a problem related to mods. I dont know if there is much they can do as some mods tend to be experimental. Which mods are you using? Maybe give some time for them to be updated. I try to avoid mods that mess to much with the simulation because I am afraid this kind of stuff might happen

With the hotfix that corrects tourism issue the game is now playable. It seems to me that still we have too few criminals in city. But overall it seems to be almost fixed in main features, despite performance although I cannot complaint much as I have a high performance PC. I am looking forward the anounced DLCs.
