Combining the strengths of their different games was what EU5 needed and I'm extremely glad that they went for it this time. I hope all of their future games include a POP system even if basic from now on. We have the compute for it to not be tied down to arbitrary tax/production/manpower numbers. People are the building block of countries like atoms are the building block of matter. It has to be simulated so there's a semblance to the real world situation.

Looking forward to EU5, hopefully this year!

I would like to ask Johan something if it's ok.

I am someone that is of the same vintage as you and maybe you also grew up on gaming too in the 80s and onward.

In those golden years we became familiar with names like John Romero and Peter Molyneux and many others that are household names who became synonymous with their games.


Do you see Europa Universalis V as part of you and even a developing legacy? Is this even more of a passion project than EU IV is for you?

Just wondered if you ever thought about this stuff? If so, I hope you are proud, Johan.

Russia war? ohno no no!
Russia is all about peace. Building good borders and creating safe spaces within where development can flourish protected from the evils of the world. Just that perfect space of one culture, one religion and never sees war again after you take over. Its just that making this perfect peaceful wonder world requires breaking a few eggs as you go south to the black sea or better yet to reach Byz. West until there is a secure border. Then go east all the way. Establishing peaceful borders with some nice ming or some such while building up manchuria and siberia etc..

All in the name of peace. All the while filling siberia with cities that have universities and art and other such wonders to rival northern italy while taxes are the lowest anywhere in the world so the people can get rich, fat and happy. War is something bad but occasionally necessary to push back the evil warmongers that just want to be evil and nasty. But eventually you can have that big beautiful peaceful realm free from envy and malice. Hopefully even enjoy nonstop peace for 200+ years while internally developing the land of peace and prosperity.
Its all for nonviolence.

Not in the sense of changing the look of a whole location. City meshes will remove trees underneath them as they grow but it's not so straight forward for changing a whole location.

Why do you think they are orthodox turks? The orthodox are probably greek or pontic.
If you look at the numbers there are 47.78% turks, meaning that there are only 52.22% non-turks.
If you look at the numbers there are 60.55% orthodox, if every non-turk is orthodox that leaves 8.33% of the people as turks and orthodox.

I asked the same question in the Anatolia map feedback, and got a decent-ish answer :

I think it during game they culture converted greeks because in population part it says 1411 but it shows an important design problem. I think if two ethnicities share different religions in general ethnicity change should come with religion change because they were extremely connected in that part of history
