No, but Johan has said that he would like to return to CK at some point given the chance, so there's possibility of CK2 coming up some day.

its also said that CK has a place in Johan heart. So hopeful some day, but i still having fun playing it now.

This game is timeless in my opinion. It centers on strategy and not on fancy graphics and quick key strokes, but on reason... one can and does get lost in it. I so hope the development of this game continues!

I've seen that CK is second in the top 10 of most sold Paradox games, so...

I keep saying that they's eventually have to come back to the Middle Ages. Everyone does. The Middle Ages are just lovely.

Basing myself on the activity of the forums, I find that very unlikely.

Of course these numbers don't say anything about the exact sales-figures but they are a good indication

I decided to post this here instead of a new thread to add my support for a CK2.

I just came back to CK/DV after a long hiatus from strategy games and I had forgotten how much I really liked this game. Since I am not all that interested in the war aspect of the game I find myself getting very immersed in the dynastic parts. I can't help but get sucked in by the events surrounding the education of my children and the court intrigue. As well as, the search for a spouse for my child that may lead the family to even greater glory or in some case, down the road to damnation.

Also, I have to say out of the Paradox games I have played I feel more comfortable modifying the game itself. DNA Maker is the best thing ever. I do a bit of role playing and start my games by modifying my first count/duke/king and spouse so they don't look like they fell out of the ugly tree face first. From that point on, I let the chips fall as they may. I have added my own and ones others have made of the event and action pictures to spice the game up so each event has a different feel. Though I am not an event writer, I have added a few made by individuals more capable than I for my enjoyment.

Overall, this game has so many things to offer beyond most strategy games that I do hope there is a CK 2 sometime in the future.

Determine dynasty names with a provincial & cultural check. If anyone's played as JERU, ANTI, TRIP etc you find your randomdly spawned Frankish courtier has a Greek or Arabic lastname when they've no such heritage in their blood.

Introduce a faction dynamic into CK2? control over own troops when liege lord requests them (so they don't get sent to other side of Europe when the battles two provinces away mostly)

That's most sold games on GAMERS GATE not most sold games ever. Many of the Paradox titles came out long before Gamers Gate. Although it is nice to see CK as the 2nd most sold game on Gamers Gate that shows it still has a large following even after the fact of the HOI's and the EU's before EU III. :) Glad to see it's so far ahead of Victoria as well. ;)

We knew it kicked Vicki's ass in terms of sales. Johan himself said so once. Vicki has a lot more forum activity because there's a lot more to talk about. There's virtually no economy to discuss in CK, discussions on CK army composition are quite short, colonies don't exist in CK, no historical events to discuss, CK tech is entirely random, etc.

I am surprised DV beats the HoI2 expansions. Granted you could get them at places other than GG, but I would have thought Armageddon would make the top 10.

The GG rankings are weekly numbers. Now that the sale is over, CK will be off the list in a week or two.

Armageddon began dropping off after HoI3 was announced.

while yes this is not an idecation about sales but i have alot of questions about victoria so as someone said earlier vicky people have more speak about. and because it was before paradox was as well known fo HOI or EU that a sequel could be economicly viable

The other way of interpretting this would be to say that those games with a high number of threads, etc... have had more problems and people don't understand them?

Vicky and CK seem to be forum favourites for new releases it seems. However, the voice of the forumites does not always match with the general public opinion. It's sales that matter, ultimately.

Yes, but it would be such a shame if PI didnt do CK2 because its the 1 game that needs a complete overhaul.
Also PI fanbase has grown over the years since CK was 1st brought out, so I would say there would be more initial sales of a CK2 then the 1st installment.
I just hope this brilliant game doesnt get thrown on the scrap heap

A Paradox game with more problems then CK after release ?

I thought I saw Johan state once that CK did sell more copies than Vicky. It was just the Vicky fans were more vocal on the forums ;)

Yes, Johan has said that once. But that doesn't mean that CK had less problems on release then Vicky. It also doesn't mean that CK is the 2nd most sold game by Paradox. :)

And Armageddon jumped back on the list after the 1.3 Beta patch for it was released.... :D
