Well it was a fun war, not sure if Austria can survive another 20 years of constant war in an acceptable shape though, hehe.
Man, what a war. I thought I was gonna lose all of NA for a while there. Then I was in a position to take most of it. Gotta love those back and forth wars.
Well atleast i got some revenge of France for not freeing the poor gaelic seperatists.
I had hope it will be last session. I knew it will end bad for OE (next one will kill Turks). But I at least hoped for some nice fight, when it was again navy gang, later naval error and than I had to give up all. Not fun.
Good session with loads of war all over. Portugal stayed out of the real hotspots, attacking first England to steal Montaux. They were exhausted and trying to rebuild their navy, and I suspect Aladar wanted to concentrate on other targets.
Then off to kill the Ottoman navy with France. OE managed to hide in Crimea, but Portuguese spies had full knowledge of the location. Once chased out of there, the French galleys were too slow and stayed to take some islands. The Portuguese navy chased the Ottomans to Tunisia, where a large battle was fought and the Turks lost. The navies were equal in size at the start, but the Portuguese admiral took the prize.
Then the Ottomans were chased all the way around Africa to outside Zanzibar, where they hid. Portuguese troops assaulted and got them out, and the Turks fled to Oman. Soon Oman was assaulted too and the Turks 296 hidden ships were reduced to about 70. Total warscore was around 60+, so just occupying Bagdhad would have made great stabhits. But France peaced out and all warscore was lost.
I had to regroup, fight off Ottoman forces in Malacca and attack Alexandria, which I finally got.
And then there was peace...

What? There was a battle there? Hm, I was sure I lost most of fleet because of misclick and run in wrong moment. Well at least it looks like they had some fight.
First battle was there, and you won the first two phases, but then I killed about 100 ships in the next phase and you fled. Then there was two more battles, one outside Algiers and one in the next sea province. Those battles about halved your navy, stopping at 296. Mine was at about 650. You had an explorer, so all the way around Africa you lost not one ship, while I lost due to movement attrition.
The 296 were only decimated once I dowed Oman and got your navy in the Persian Gulf, and then again outside Oman's capital. I think you had 69 ships left when you hid in Calicut.
So aladar is counting the peace with france as a victory over me but I am counting it as a WP since he didn't actually take anything from me. What is the right deal here?

It was an against-the-rules-peace. I wouldn't give any points at all. But better 2 for each of you since there was indeed a war. Hardly a win for England.
I don't get why dozens of times I managed to escape with most of ships and than suddenly start to loose them, but maybe I was too slow.

Well the largest battle was some 10 days long, so I reckoned you saw that. Then the other two were 2-4 days or something, but they were more devastating.
Well i hope you will all be there next week for the final battles of the game. The last few sessions have really been a blast
I woke up an hour early to do the edits, only to find out my internet had died
regarding Sweden: the war we have been fighting the session when you were around come to an end relatively quickly, after few battles Joohoo gave up mazovia, one lith prov and two in finland. But next war was superthough, it was 1vs1 rus vs swe, there was other parties in that war but pru have been fighting fra. First part of war gone smoothly, I toke all lith and baltic provinces, after that with the help of the fleet Joohoo has been guarding core swedish provinces very effectively using fleet to move troops fast between provinces and retreat when in danger. Once or twice i wasn't sure that I can break trough. After some time my general (evilgay
) 4461 was able to defeat main swedish army(although, swedish general was pretty good) and then wreck havock taking 6-7 provinces by assault, including capitol. Joohoo refused to surrender. And then this old bastard died of old age( my general, not Joohoo). from this point my generalless army was annihilated by winter and regrouping swedish armies. Joohoo retook most of provinces during winter and rebuild his army. But when snow melted Suvorov entered the swedish core lands, he was taking province after province and in swedish capitol he crushed swedish remaining forces(actually during this battle sweden had bigger army). Seeing this defeat and around 150 k moving, in few smaller contingents to sweden to join 100k with suvorov which was already there, Joohoo finally gave up. The war was so great and swedish soldiers fought so bravely that i only demanded two lith provinces.
