Isn't there a map mode for forts or a 2D sprite when zoomed out when an army is selected, as in Europa Universalis IV?Testers want to see where forts are when you zoom out.. its kind of vital![]()

Hey, if it's possible, could you tell us please what PC configuration do you have?Hey! So I had the Graphics on mostly Ultra Settings, with some things off just because of my rig / how I have my monitor set up etc. I'm also running the game in 4k but we scaled the video to 2k!
Actually you can sometimes get this where water from different oceans has differnet compositions and densities and so doesnt mix. You see this at the confluence of the Atlantic and Pacific, where its literally a line in the water with ocean water of one color on one side, and another color on another side. You can also see this effect when two major tributaries join into a single stream. The water from either tributary remains separate with distinct colors, until they get far enough downstream that enough mixing has occurred.
So like, the Med being a different color than the Atlantic isnt that wild a thing.
Here is a good example:
Those two maps mainly make different choices on how to represent the difference in horizontal to vertical scale. Maybe a bit more accentuation should be added to the hills in the EUV-map, but I don't think there's something wrong with the heights themselves ?![]()
I think parts of Iberia still need a touchup, especially around Valencia
I thought you said it would be less good than the music ?
Could you clarfiy which camera angles will be possible ? Does this mean "only zooming with some automatic tilt, always north on top" like in EUIV ? I'd guess more should be possible in the 5000-ish days since...
Difficult to overstate how OK the fanbase would be with a complete 1:1 copy of the I:R map...Is it just me that thinks the Imperator Rome map is much cooler?? We need to follow this cool map. The current map looks like Civilization

Definitely, the coastlines together with the texture resolutions are where I think the biggest improvements can be made right now.It looks great overall, cool mountains. However, I don't like the coastlines, lakes and rivers.
I would prefer a sharper less shallow coastline, right now it looks like the ever present beach extends too far inland.
Lakes also feel too shallow, it's a combination of the coastline issue but also the water looks very shallow, like a small puddle on the ground. Lakes may not be deep relatively speaking but anything large enough to show up on this scale shouldn’t feel like a puddle.
The rivers also have very undefined riverbanks and I feel like I can see the bottom. It's like someone is pouring water on a beach not a large river.
but camera will snap back to this default configuration.
I agree, the map definitely needs more polish. The map feels very flat tbh. Like, everything-is-steppes flat.
…They did that though? Like, the heightmap used to look completely different before we asked them to use the real world heightmap as a basis, which they did. The issue seems more that some of the height differences aren’t visible enough. Why not use the earths heightmap and tweek it like with imperator rome, as opposed to making a whole heightmap from scratch that isn't up to snuff? Can the game not handle a 16k by 8k real earth heightmap?
Strong sincere request to allow the default camera angle to be modded. Playing an Islamic nation would be super immersive if we could also orient the map so South is Up.Glad you enjoy it so much
So on the camera angles, it's similar to how CK3 works. 99% of gameplay will be zooming in, with automatic tilt (The tilt is toggleable btw!), north on top. You can do some camera rotations but camera will snap back to this default configuration.
Zoom levels and camera tilts for this video are entirely for the purposes of the showcase. Nothing here is actual gameplay pans/zooms.
I wonder how hard it is to make terrain stand out more or less at different zoom levels. The mountains look fine close up, but look flat when you zoom out…They did that though? Yeah no this looks pretty bad, especially when EU3 did better.
