I have several specific questions for experts/devs:

1.) What do the "careerModeAll[weightclass]Chassis.txt" files actually do? I can't find anything referring back to them in other assets...

2.) I know we have Anti-Missile System meshes and hardpoints in game (add an energy mount to the Dragon's RT and there ya go, for one example). Are there any other assets in the stock files for this, or should i look to RogueTech's implementation?

3.) Is it possible to directly alter assetbundle files to change specific pointers without crashing? For example, i've got a 3050 Hatchetman and Raven mechdef that i'd like to swap into their respective Flashpoints - is this possible?

4.) Is there a way to buy/unlock/mod-in the early backer Atlas skin? I only have the Shadow Hawk, and it feels so lonely.

Sorry for the mashup of topics... and thanks for your time.

2.) you can look at hardpoints defs for them. But you should know - hardpoint prefab just visuals, no game logic in it. So if you spawn AMS prefab to mech it will not work as AMS.

I understand all that - put a mlas on an AMS hardpoint and you get an AMS shooting a medium laser beam. I was just wondering if there was anything hidden away that did have HBS code in place.

If you wonder how does RT implement AMS game logic. It is not something was hidden in original code and just revealed. It is completely original code written by me.
And our BATTLETECH Community is all the better for that contribution Good @KMiSSioN. Thank you.

For point 4, I wouldn't have a problem with HBS allowing people to purchase the skin if they wanted... but I doubt you'll find anyone willing to help with unlocking or modding it in for someone that doesn't have it. Even in the unlikely case that you did find someone to help with that, it won't be on the official site. HBS has kindly made the game easy to mod, and in return we don't attempt to bypass anything they've done that requires players to purchase content. I think you'll find that most modders feel very strongly about that.

Nope. It was for Kickstarter Backers (and reinforcement backers) of a certain level or above only.
Also what ronhatch said.
Sorry.

I hear and understand your point about "stealing" the Atlas skin, but, i mean, I've bought two copies of the game, including the season pass. I wants it, it's precious to meeeeeee.

I also want it and have bought multiple copies, but I'm still not going to mod it in out of respect for HBS. Personally I would love if they made it available for purchase though
