hello,

I'm posting this thread only because I want to help, so don't see it as critic - just wanting to assist,

In the future, it would perhaps be better to keep the gold release secret until the delivery dates of the game are available.

So everything is staying the same, the only that's different is that you have a press release where a very good delivery estimate is included,

so like = good new, Crusader Kings has gone gold today and will be delivered as soon as from day X,

in that case, people are informed the game is coming and they know when, this might perhaps also stimulate the positive climate because they get real figures and not = we'll see when or we'll ask Joe with the hat ...
:)

Another (/almost innocent) hint: Maybe a AAR (or 2) to keep us occupied until the game can ge gotten :)

Maybe a "Orkney Conquers AARL" -by Ebbesen
or a "Prospaarity in the Peoples HRE" -by Sytass
?

Or some other even greaarter talent? ;)

Isn’t the whole idea to create expectation? Just good old marketing measures. An AAR would of course be nice though.

I suspect that Mr T has a manuscript hidden in his closet in Toronto and I am pretty sure he has a huge supply of Smithwick beer next to the manuscript to quickly be able to take the cross once Pope Johan starts preaching an Ok to the crusade

the problem with giving dates is that small software companies (sorry guys paradox falls into this category), do not have the ability to distriubte a game world wide, its simple to big a job, thats why alot of companies rely on "middle men" to actually do most of the job, afaik (dont take offence if im wrong in my assumption) paradox produces the software and sends a version to the middel men, who then translate (if needed), print, distribute and market the game. and in this case they have to reach alot of different markets, so giving the job to just ONE company isnt really an option since they most likely only are good at their specific market (france, germany, scandinavia, ect) so there will be different dates for each distributer.

Ask and ye shall receive. :)

(See...Paradox listens. It's just that sometimes it takes a little while to get things ready...)

Now, that's a good thing to come home to!:D

Shit, I have always believed that I am Bernhard of Clairvaux resurrected and now when the Pope listened to me like this I accept this belief as true – Deus Le Volte :D

Maybe "The Tale of the Prince-Bishops" by Lord Durham?

hello, nice to see an aar coming up,

but back to topic = my point was that the commercial value of news item "CK has gone gold and we expect the game to be delivered from our Paradox shop as soon as from date X",

has a better commercial value compared to "CK has gone gold",

ok, now to the AAR, ;) :D

Not disagreeing with you, however it is more or less impossible for them to do that because once the masters are sent out, the actual games-on-shelf date is dependent on factors at the distribution level. This can, as we have seen in the past, take wildly different amounts of time.

OT: MrT, btw, it's good to have you back again... We thought we lost you... Too bad you have lost part of your extraordinary capacity of "boring" us to death with long, reasonable posts... I won't forget the fact that my first PM on this board was from you....

If you are all wondering why am I saying this here well, here is the short story: slow connection tonight, too lazy to post on another sub-forum... :D

In other words: You're spamming. Stop that.
