I don't know if somebody thought it, but the alliance system of HoI2 make very much trubles for the cold war. In the cold war, there where very much small crisis, where the 2 superpowers fight in a limited area (Vietnam, Korea,....), but this is solvable by giving only extern support to a small nation in the war. But for other crisis (Falklands war, libyan crisis, southafrica vs Angola....) We could have total irrealistic results, as the entire Nato against Argentina, the entire arab league against the Nato (indeed of USA vs Libya) etc.... and if we let do all to the AI, USA will annex Vietnam with the support of the Nato and Russia will stay to see.... and the same thing will happen to libya, and for UK and Argentina...
How could we solve it?

We have, of course already thought it out. Whenever such a war starts, all NATO members will be asked weather or not to participate - Global players such as UK and France will have a higher chance to do so then minor players like Belgium or denmark.

besides, if anyone annexes Vietnam, it will be south vietnam, no?

It seems interesting that it was already decided that major powers can do official declarations of war in proxy wars. But for the sake of historical accuracy, would it not be better to have triggered events where if a nation is within a specific alliance, be able to send raw materials and reinforcements opposed to OFFICIAL declarations of war? Also if nations wish to send troops, they should be able to send expeditionary troops to the nations.

What I don't want to see if the United States or other NATO nations joining in a historically small conflict like Vietnam, then having other Comintern Nations joining in the same conflict, and allowing for direct attacks on U.S. or Soviet homelands when the conflict did not have anything to do with those areas. Just a thought on this issue

Question: will the gamespeed be faster ?as the time period is much longer, it takes considereable time just to play from 1936 to 1948 in the orginal version. And will reasearch time be longer, because its a bit boring to be done with all research in the mid 60s. and if u now can buy divisions from great powers, would it not be realistic to buy blueprints too? i know this already has been rejected but i cant help my self asking

anyway im really looking forward to this mod  and as u might have notised english is not my native language...

gamespeed can be handled by using Ctrl +/- , you can get from early 1936 to mid 1939 in approx. one hour - if you slow down to pick your research and divsion deployments.

research speed isn't decided on yet, But I guess it will be longer - during the Cold War, a new plane usually took 10 (later 20) years of development, but since this would be boring in CW, we might simply cut that at 2-5 years of development, to simulate troop testing.

Blueprints buy won't be that large of an issue as the NATO forces will share blueprints anyway (alliance), same with the warsaw pact and arabic alliance. Any other selling of equipment/licenses can probably handled by events.

Will the USA and the Soviet Union be able to go to war without the world ending?

There will be no nuclear holocaust, mainly because then there would be nothing to play, now would there.

Good, I love killing communists! :D

in theory it is good how everyone is equal but from the western capitalist eyes of which i see through i see it that no man at this time has managed to carry it out successfully and has become more currupt...... eg stalin etc do yo think they got the same share of bread and money as the men working 14hours in the cotton fields...... just my opion

Are you communist?
i only like it because yugoslavia had a so called communist government. the country was better than what we have now of the 5 nations. and to biosis, dont u think that tito of yugoslavia was a good communist leader. i should correct that because everyone from yugoslavia knows that tito was not a communist. we had so much more freedom than people under soviet communism.

Correction: Tito was not a communist, nor was Stalin. We've never seen a real communist nation.
