Traits and planets maybe? But I'd prefer that you keep it secret, so we can discover in the story. :) Will it be a narrative or historybook (I guess sci-fibook is more appropriate though :p )?
I'll have whatever traits the normal human factions give to the species
As for the style we'll see :p

4) Despotic Empire : Militarist + Xenophobic + Materialist
3) Hyperlane
3) Guns

Voting despotic, it is the roman Empire after all.

I support despotate. But I must admit a military Republic is more suited for interactivity.

Given the very light interactive tone, I think he could just label it as referendums.

I would say humans are weak but rapid breeders and charismatic and quick learners (maybe).

I think PDX gave humans fair traits. I mean since we don't have anything to compare us to IRL I'm glad they didn't go with the standard Sci-fi trope of making humans smart and numerous. Smarter than what precisely? Everything else on Earth - sure, but that's not a fair comparison. And do we breed faster than other life on Earth? No, not even compared with other mammals on the planet.

Looks cool! Subbed. :)

Military Dictatorship - I've always been a fan of Late Antiquity, and I demand that you include the names Aegidius and Stilicho in your namelist! :p

Hyperlanes - As has already been pointed out: Mille viae ducunt homines per saecula Romam.

Abstain - Too bad space ballistae isn't an option.

It's too bad that military dictatorship is winning. I'm fairly certain dictatorship in the game is like a junta so to me, it seems the least Roman-like of all options. Oh well, I'm sure it will be a great story regardless of who wins.

It seems very representative of the Late Empire (think post-Theodosius) or the Late Republic (think Sulla and Caesar). However, the Despotic Empire probably best matches the Imperial Rome of 27 BC to AD 395 (in general -- obviously that is a giant period which saw a lot of political shifts).

I didn't think of the Dominate period. That does indeed fit the military dictatorship. I did think of Late Republic but those were brief periods of military dictatorship followed by slips back into the Oligarchic/Martial Republic as opposed to a continual dictator government. And yes, I voted Despotic Empire because I felt it best generalizes the entire timeline of the empire as opposed to one period of it - all the way from its founding to 1453. I know near the end it kinda tapered off into semi-feudalism but the emperor, in theory, still held all the power. Thanks for reminding me of the Dominate period. The dictatorship winning is more acceptable now.

Humans, smart? Ha, funny joke!

Although then again, other sentient species may suffer from the same lack of intelligence. I would say our exponential growth proves we are fast breeders (and not that intelligent). Just like comparing smartness to other animals on Earth isn't fair, breeding faster than animals on Earth isn't fair. Anyways, we aren't the slowest breeders. Then again, we still haven't encountered sentient lifeforms so it is really hard to compare. One thing I don't like is the fact that species live to relatively the same age, extract the same minerals, are based off of water, use the same energy, have same intelligence and skill level, etc... really bugs me because , for example, an oak tree shares 75% of the same genes as a human and we evolved from the same ancestor yet the tree is far different than us. The tree lives far longer, relies on something different for food, and has different body parts.

What traits did PDX give humans?

It looks like the Divine Mandate and Despotic Empire are splitting the Space Byzanitum vote.

Well Divine mandate has more votes, so Empire voters should switch to it if they want to stop the Republicans.
Meh, though I can see a minor justification for Divine Mandate given the whole thing of the Emperor being God's regent, but it really seems like more of a China thing. The whole Divine Mandate, from my knowledge, wasn't really pushed as a way to legitimize the rule of an emperor or legitimize an emperor's general actions. Really, the only important role it really served was an excuse for the emperor to interfere with the church and replace those against him with loyalists. Basically, though it was there, it was nowhere near as big of a role and certainly couldn't call for a "Divine Mandate" government the same way representing a space Imperial China would. In conclusion, I will not be switching as I feel Divine Mandate has weak justification and, if Despotic Empire continues to fail, I will be switching to Martial Republic as that sufficiently matches the Roman Republic, although it is difficult for me to tell whether the Roman Republic historically was more of a martial republic or oligarchic republic.
