I, too, am rather fond of the twisted versions of famous symbology used here. Finding out more(well, sort of, for one that's been following everything already) about the world of the game in general is neat, too.

If there are multiple playable races, and the Nexus shut down leaving them out of contact with each other, does that mean each race will have their own starting point and a different campaign, or at least different campaign options?

What is the scale of maps gonna be? Are we gonna be seeing entire maps built around a massive city with a huge nexus in the center, or is everything gonna be more like AoW3?

More like Aow3. Every map is a planet.

Please make t-shirts with Terratech on it that we can buy! I need this
The posters look really good. I look forward to a T-shirt with the Paragon technologies picture at some point in the future.

I'm so glad to see we are all agreeing on this.

It isn't developped on Clausewitz as far as I know.

Indeed it is not. It's running in the Creator Engine, which is our own engine we've been working with for years. We'll likely do a Dev Diary on that too.

That does seem like a very logical conclusion based on those premises … hmmmm

Nice style !

"A different take on Research: Research is about rediscovery the secrets of this ancient empire, adding a narrative to this mechanic."
Interesting... does this mean that some "technologies" can only be discovered by searching for those secrets? I would like something like that.

My guess is it's tied into the NPC factions and the sector mechanics. For instance, there might be sectors on the map with Terratech buildings and when you take control of such a sector you get access to certain unit variants and/or techs, depending on the race you play.

Haven't thought about that. I was thinking about exploring sites/areas -including fighting guardians- to unlock unique technologies. (making exploring even more important)

Some of the art style is very art deco-ish. Has Metropolis provided significant inspiration maybe? Most people probably know this as the "Bioshock look". Regardless I really like it. It smells of retro sci-fi and opulence.

lol, looks like I misunderstood the word "Planetfall" before(english isn´t my mothertongue). Thought it means a Planets fall...something apocaliptic, but reading your opening post, it sounds like it means landing on a planet.

I will say that the world looks very interesting, however I'm wondering how much we'll get to see of it.

I was really disappointed with the AoW3 Campaign, especially after AoW1, 2 and Shadow Magic had such excellent campaigns. The one in AoW3 was short, relatively boring/unimaginative and felt more like a tutorial for multiplayer than anything else.
Are you planning on providing a more complete story mode again this time around?

Sorry for asking like this, it's just that in most games I tend to enjoy the campaign and story telling parts the most, so it's gonna be the most important aspect of whether I'll want to purchase the game or not.

Otherwise the world looks very interesting, I'm already in love with those propaganda murals.

Yeah Planetfall is like Landfall, it just means the ship lands on the planet. :)

I understand why it would be that way, still, kind of a bummer to me (personally, I know many people like or don't mind that), random maps just don't give me the same immersion. :(

Well, the campaigns should be better than previous. At PDXcon, they said they were looking at pseudo-random campaigns - the map objectives are fixed, but the rest of the sectors would be RMG'd in. This would make it a lot more replayable.

If bad campaigns are a deal-breaker though, you might want to wait until there's a bit more known before you buy.

Interesting stuff. Feels kinda like Eve Online or Babylon 5 in a way. But with a more uh, "Ozymandias" feel. Like most settings I've seen post-collapse are usually either dark, depressing, or nihilistic. This feels more hopeful from what I've seen. Even if it's starting from the ashes of a dead empire.

TBH, I'm kind of struggling for words to describe why the setting is different than what we've seen before. But it just feels distinct even from these brief posts. For something that uses a lot of old sci fi tropes it feels pretty original in some ways. Either way I'm looking forward to it
