Name: Ja'hani Chisan
Culture:Tavan Morin
Age: 25.
Position within the Tavan Morin:A warrior of great prestige and skill.

Background:

Ja'hani was born in the year 475 to a single mother. His father left his family and disappeared soon after his older brother, H'kani, was born. His mother always said 'your father was an honorable man, but the stress of a family was too much to bear, I don't want you to turn up like him.' Because Ja'hani had no father figure, he grew up deferential to his mother, and as a result, he always treated women with respect, even when others wouldn't. When Ja'hani was about 12, his mother sent him to train in the arts of war with the local general. The general was a stern, rock-hard man. He trained Ja'hani in the art of the lance, and taught him to fight using a lance as his primary weapon. He has a little training in the art of the bow, but his skill in with the lance is formidable. Ja'hani grew up to be a warrior in the serice of this general, and when the general died, Ja'hani mourned, as his mentor was dead. Now, Ja'hani aspires to fly his own banner.

Name: In his native tongue, the Songiny Mergen - the "Onion Sage"
Culture: Tavan Morin

Background:

As the Tavan Morin strangers were spotted in the North, so too was this strange figure first rumored of, garbed in muddy robes carrying with himself various satchels and belts filled with various herbs and vegetables. Though the existence of such figure remains slim, existing only in stories floating around a few Hendal outposts and villages, the contents of each tale all share striking similarlity, always with the strange figure humming some tune and eating an onion as if it were an apple. Most concerning is the general consensus that this figure has a path - southward into the civilized kingdoms of Makria.

Character Name:
Rizzo "Agsaldai"

fpikPLx.jpg

Culture:
Ethnic Hendal

Resides in:
Tavan Morin

Born:
469

Background:
Rizzo was born to a Hendal family of merchants, but his life of luxury would end at a very young age, as his father was forced into bankruptcy and had to hand over both his daughter and youngest son to those he owed debts to. Rizzo was forced into harsh labor, and was secluded from other children. As he grew older, laboring day and night for the "safety" of his sister, unbeknownst to him, she was being repeatedly raped and brutalized by the master of the household. She had already been dead for two years by the time Rizzo learned of her death from another servant. This was when he snapped. He began planning to exact his revenge. That night, while the master was sleeping, Rizzo snuck into the kitchen and stole a knife. He used this knife to kill the master, before fleeing from the property. It wasn't until Rizzo was two miles away that he realized what he had done. He had no regrets.

He continued to flee in the direction that he knew was his only chance: north. Somehow, at the age of eleven, using what little skills he had learned trying to scavenge for extra food he managed to survive for a few months in the frigid cold, but as the days wore on, it began to get colder and his food supplies began to deplete. Before long he could feel death's lingering presence, and he knew that retribution had come for him...

Except that it never did.

He awoke in a camp filled with strangers. They looked bizarre, unlike any person he had ever seen. They spoke a strange dialect. These strangers would become his people, the only family he ever properly had and they dubbed him "Agsaldai." It was as he grew older that he realized the truth of his murder of the master. He did not have a single regret.

We all die someday.

Nothing else. If I don't get him then I'll make my own Dalmiran duke (am I the only one who imagines Dalmira as a kingdom similar to Swadia)?

1) King of Dalmira
2) King of Hendal
3) King of Meddeland

Name: Gregory "The Crow" Riddlemen
Age: 31
Nationality: Hendal
Bio: A former soldier turned sell-sword, not much is known about Riddlemen other than he was born somewhere in South Hendal and when he came of age he served as an aspirant within the River Guard. His reasons for leaving the order are not known but he earned the nickname "The Crow" during his time there. He formed up his own band of mercenaries known as "The Iron Hand" two years ago and has since then grown steadily despite their relatively small numbers. As such he focused on keeping the men as highly trained as possible knowing that for the time being their numbers would not be a selling point, focusing on the motto: "Get what you put in" referring to their skill and chance of success related to the amount of coin they are paid, they are mercenaries after all. To them it isn't about love of women, country or glory but coin. They aren't considered the most honorable men due to their acceptance of just about any contract short of treason against His Majesty the King. Currently they operate near the Treaty Line with Dalmira in addition to a small presence in Etela.

Name: Prince Vytautas Krasnickas the Bastard Duke of Erdheim & Duke of Rortzen
Age: 30
Born: 470
Nationality: Dalmira
Backstory: He is the half brother bastard of the current king, their father impregnating a low level countess during a winter feast. Most people recognize his heritage because of a scandal by the mother which ended in his father admitting to the affair. Vytautas still has lived his life with the usual noble trappings one would expect of a prince, even a bastard. With the recent political changes caused by the murder of the eight dukes and King Conrad's overthrow his half brother has gifted him the Duchy of Erdheim and Rortzen, as a bribe to ensure continued support.

Name: Baron Maximillian Wiegraf
Age: 19
Born: 481
Nationality: Dalmira
Background: Minor Noble
Personality: You will discover soon...

Biography
Maximillian was born in Rortzen, in a minor noble family with ancient roots in the northern lands of Dalmira, belonging to a lineage of proud martial nobles. His father once boasted that "there were never been a war involving Dalmira that a Wiegraf didn't sheed his blood!" His father, however, lived as an unremarkable high ranked officer under the Duchy of Rortzen, when he finally sucumbed to an illness five years ago.
Max quickly followed the steps of his forefathers, since the age of four he started to practice swordsmanship with private tutors. At the age of twelve he began to follow veterans warriors and knights in border skimirshes and, at the age of thirteen, even before finishing his martial studies he actually fought his first skirmirsh and killed his first man. At age of sixteen, after officially finish his studies he was granted a seat at the war council of Rortzen, an event unheard of in the past few decades - a teenager of sixteen to discuss matters of war. Still, the story of the man "worthy of hundred knights" hardly began.

Name: Henry, Prince of Hendal
Age: 22
Born: 478
Nationality: Hendalian
Background: Royal Blood
Personality: Spineless

Bio: Henry is the youngest son of ((whoever the king is)). He has always lived in his brothers' shadows and is perfectly content with this fact. Henry is very studious and knows much about the language, history, and customs of all the nations of the continent. However, he is a spineless coward who fears his psychopath father and will generally do anything to please his brothers. He fears war, bloodshed, and outdoor games. He reportedly threw up when he saw a knight bleeding in a tournament when he was younger.

Name: Haakon the Vandal
Age: 30
Born: 470
Nationality: Ardan
Backstory: Haakon is a Barbarian and a born leader to his fellow savages. While not the smartest of the bunch, legend has it that this barbarian has stood his ground against giants and creatures of an even more evil ilk. Even worse for those who oppose him, the Vandal is exceptionally skilled at inspiring a mix of fear and pride into his men which allows them to fight like no opposing army ever would. His services are sometimes called for by Kings and Emperors, but most of the time he instills fear into peasants, forcing them to pay their dues to the Vandal's band of brigands. Haakon has only recently learned how to read and write, but his grasp of strategy is second to none, making him invaluable in any army of dubious character.

The Vandal's roots are unknown. Some say that he is descended from the Kings of the North, but others interject that no man can have three traits. We will never know.

The House of Riosh

Baron Garret of Riosh
Born of the year 449
from Dalmira

Lord of a failing house from Igskada of Dalmira. The house of Riosh once ruled over the coastal city, prospering from the flow of trade from across the realms. However, generations ago, the arrogance of the house was brought down by their enemies. Today, Riosh rules in obscurity, maintaining only a mere barony and struggling estate. Garret himself is a recluse and little is known of the man. He was a begrudging vassal of the lord of Igskada.

Gwent of Riosh
Born of the year 464
from Dalmira

The eldest son of Garret of Riosh. Garret once showed promise as a military commander, earning him great respect among the fighting men of Igskada. When the duke of Igskada shunned him for the office of Watch Captain in favour of a distant cousin, Gwent's wrath was severe. He murdered one of the Duke's men and fled Dalmira. That was nearly ten years ago. Gwent is rumoured to have spent some time across Meddeland, as a sword for hire working for both the crown and the Ardan rebels. More recently, he is believed to be commanding a ship, smuggling and pirating across the seas.

Ethan of Riosh
Born of the year 482
From Dalmira

The sole son of Gwent of Riosh, and heir to the barony of Riosh. Ethan is a cautious and studious young man, delving deep into the history of his house. He has expressed a keen desire to see Riosh restored to some of it's former glory, though always quick to point out within the bounds of Igskada vassalage. It is whispered that it is only a matter of time before a curse is levied upon Ethan from Namadia, for the shameful actions of his father, Gwent.

In the spring of 500 EL, King Magnus decreed that Ethan of Riosh would be granted the ducal title of Igskada. Though young, and full of doubt, Ethan took up the call of his king and accepted the responsibility of leading the ducy. Ethan's first mandate upon sitting the ducal throne was to improve the economic situation in the duchy. Though one of the breadbaskets of Dalmira, and rich during the harvest, Igskada loses money the rest of the year. Ethan lowered port fees in the harbour, hoping to increase traffic, yet it wasn't enough to increase revenue.

During the summer, Ethan ordered the construction of a road network linking the outer baronies and townships with Igskada City, with the hope that merchant traffic would increase and inland trade would grow. It proved a mild success, despite the considerable expense, though it wasn't enough to erase the deficit.

As summer wanes, war is declared against Ardans by Duke Wiegraf. Rushing to the aid of his ally, Duke Ethan joins the war and raises five thousand troops. The march east to Ardan is long and arduous, but affords the duke an opportunity to stop in Victorsburg and meet with the Superias who fortifies his resolve. From there his army makes for Foldgart when winter hits. Rather then risk a winter campaign, Duke Ethan decides to wait out the winter in Foldgart, paying Duke Wiegraf 50 ducats for the privledge.

Riosh Castle

Located on the outskirts of Igskada, Riosh Castle was once a mere outpost for the house, used to house garrisons in times of conflict to protect the family's outlying shires. Now this crumbling castle is all that is left of Riosh's holdings, a grim relic of their past. Much like their house, the castle stands in disrepair and much of it cold and empty, However, on the coldest nights, the hearths burn warm and bright.

The Noble Houses of Igskada

e2563f4b2dad8240830d30cd3da5fb7d

House Vreburg

House Vreburg once ruled the Duchy of Igskada, until their patriarch was murdered by the Black King. Upon the ascension of King Magnus, they had fully expected to have their seat restored. Possibly suspecting their involvement in his uncle's murder, however, King Magnus awarded rule of the Duchy to House Riosh instead.

Vreburg is the ancestral rival of House Riosh, and tempers have flared up once again in the wake of Riosh's ascension to the Dragon Salt Chair, the coveted throne of Igskada. Vreburg is a prosperous house, owning merchant ships and mines to bolster the family's wealth. Though not as well known is their utter ruthlessness and cruelty against any who oppose them. Generations ago they orchestrated the utter ruin of House Riosh, and despite their best efforts, their rivals have grown to prominence once again.

1e725b357d5df72f76efd6bf6627ec4f.jpg

Baron Ivar Vreburg

The brother of the late duke, Ivar is a cold and calculating man, who isn't afraid to use his influence over the guilds and merchants of Igskada City to achieve his ends. He is a well traveled man, and a notable seaman, though the recent death of his brother has forced him land bound, and to lord over his family's dwindling holdings.

He owns a merchant ship, and has close kin overlooking the Carpenter's Guild and Patron's Guild. In the summer of 500 EL, after being ordered to remove the ducal crown from his banners, Ivar was named Steward of Igskada by the duke, likely in an effort to closely monitor his activities. Using his influence over the guilds, Ivar believes Elise Wiegraf, Duke Ethan's betrothed, is the key to gaining the dutchy and plans to use her to cause strife between house Riosh and Wiegraf. As the Ardan Crusade broke out in the fall of 500 EL, Ivar secured issued a loan to Duke Ethan, placing the young duke in his debt.

House Eadesrick

The Eadesricks hail from a long line of warriors. Originally from the Highlands, the Eadesricks were once raiders of Igskada, before a branch of the house settled in the Igskada lowlands permanently. Several generations later, the patriarch Jessop Eadesrick was knighted by the Superiacy and granted lands in Igskada by the reigning duke. They have often been on friendly terms with House Riosh, even intermarrying at a point when Riosh was in decline.

0b3343990eb0f57099b63c9045f838be.jpg

Ser Bertran Eadesrick
The patriarch of House Eadesrick. A gruff and surely man, who holds little patience for japes and trivialities. Though some may cast him off as a brutish soldier, it could be argued his allegiance with Riosh was well calculated, as they now hold the power in Igskada.

In late spring of 500 EL, Bertran was named the Marshal of Igskada by Duke Ethan Riosh, making him chief adviser regarding martial matters of the duchy. In the fall, Ser Eadesrick answers Ethan's summons for war and marches with his liege to Ardan.

House Dolos

The Dolos family have ruled north eastern Igskada for generations. They have grown wealthy from the bountiful farmlands the Frida River Valley provides. Throughout history they have acquired a nefarious reputation of questionable allegiances. House Dolos was instrumental in the initial overthrow of House Riosh by the Vreburgs. Decades later, House Dolos attempted a revolt of their own, but were defeated. The House stands as one of the most powerful in the duchy.

6c36f37af42a146134a6ddd05a936e84.jpg

Count Edon Dolos

Edon ascended to power upon the untimely death of his elder brother. He was often at odds with Duke Vreburg, and is now a vocal supporter of Duke Ethan Riosh. Remarkably little is known of the man, other then his uncanny ability to hold secrets of the realms on his tongue.

In the summer of 500 EL, Count Edon Dolos was named the Chancellor of Igskada by Duke Ethan Riosh. Dolos pines for rule of the Duchy and hatched a plan to lure Ethan's father, an infamous cutthroat, to return to Igskada and cause strife among the Barons, giving him the support he needs to usurp the rule of the duchy. Edon pledged troops to Duke Ethan for the Ardan Crusade, which began the fall of 500 EL. It is the hope of Count Dolos that Ethan meets his end in the war and dispatched his kin to facilitate this desire if possible.
