It's really strange for me, that they spend so many money inviting content creators all over the world on a 3 day trip to Finland, but they haven't make any noise, publicity or a single post on their social networks about it.
We discussed this an other thread on the forum, but the most likely is that when they sent the invitations they were planning some release. They did not deliver, but thought uninviting people would not be great. That seems the most logical explanation, but maybe @co_avanya could clarify?

I still don't see the point of inviting the content creators and then immediately putting them under an NDA so they can't talk about the substance of anything they've seen or heard. If PDX isn't just giving PR speak about improving communication and community relations, walk the walk and release the NDAs so we can actually hear from the "influencers" that they deemed the only ones suitable to hear about the actual state of the game.

Then release them as DLCs. 100% sure that people who purchased Ultimate Edition would love to receive them directly rather than still waiting to download them from your unpromising Asset Editor.
that is the whole point, we bought them in summer '23 as a part of the ultimate edition and they still haven't released them yet.
It makes absolutely no sense to hold them back because of various fixes they are working on

I am still waiting on some sort of response from CO or Paradox about what they intend to do to alleviate the situation for Ultimate Edition buyers. This is not okay. At all. At least 18 months waiting time fore something they paid money for. This is a piece of software, not a Trabant.

Your Trabant was at least a very simple construction that worked and if it didn’t you could fix it yourself. Software is complex. Such a game insanely complex.

I am a software developer myself. So I cannot blame the devs for bugs. It’s normal and takes hard to estimate time for fixing.

I blame PDX and the CO management for allowing a release before fixing and completing content. With complete I don’t even mean the DLCs. It’s the details that are missing. No animations and so on. What they released is nothing but a beta.

This wasn't a PR event which is why we didn't promote it. This was a chance for us to sit down face to face with content creators, modders, asset creators, and map makers and hear about their experiences with the game, the issues that negatively impact their experience the most, their hopes for the future, and what they feel the wider community finds important.

It was a really positive and constructive event from our point of view, and I hope we get to do more events like this, both with the NDA group and open to everyone, so we can meet you all. But we'll have to see what the future brings. For now, we have a bunch of stuff to dive back into. And of course, once that turns into something concrete we can share publicly, we will.

Thanks for the explanation, it now makes sense. As you can see we are so passionate about the game that we follow everything happening and we want it to be in a good shape and enjoy it even more.

I don't think this company understands, what statement are they in.. You can't add paid content. After scam on Ultimate.. You can't! Base game already expensive and you guys add nonsense Ultimate Edition too.. I'll not talk about other "Beach DLC and radio".. Even after those updates, you guys never ever should make paid content. You already lose our trust..

Tell who bought Ultimate Edition to be patient and hopeful about game and updates. Tell each one of them.. Literally nonsense!!

They did say they can't continue delaying the game further after the game has been internally delayed over 3 years.

Isn't it because without the Asset Editor, the DLCs wouldn't work the way they are supposed to? It's only the contents of the DLCs are completed, but to tie those contents into the base game is what's being hindered by the Asset Editor / Custom Assets tech.

I think it's the other way round. The Modern Architecture and Urban Promenades CCPs/DLCs could be released right now if they wanted to. They already released the Beach Properties DLC well before the asset editor was ready.

What cannot be released before the asset editor are the free region packs. Those are going to be released on PDX mods, and for them to work the asset editor needs to be working.

At least that's how I understand it.

I’m not sure that they will as of now. Let’s see how things progress. As of today, the CCPs have been delayed by 3 quarters. Originally scheduled in Q1 2024, they’re now slated for Q4 2024.

The Bridges and Ports Expansion went from Q2 2024 to Q2 2025. So, a full year.

They may decide to reward UE Customers for their patience, if delays continue, but it doesn’t seem like that’s part of the plan right now.

It sucks, but remain patient and enjoy the parts of the game you can enjoy (if there are any).

They need more time and certainly our continued patience. Hopefully they can get that Editor shipped ASAP and that’ll allow for 2500 assets to drop immediately.

Hello City Builders,

We wanted to take a moment to update you on the status of our upcoming releases. We know many of you are excited for new content, and we want to be transparent about where things currently stand.

The two Creator Packs — Modern Architecture and Urban Promenades — have been completed by their creators. While the Economy Patch, Detailers Patch, and Decorations Patch are all part of our commitment to improving the base game, we are well aware that the Asset Editor is one of the most crucial remaining features in fulfilling our promise to make mods fully available in-game. To ensure we don’t split our focus, we’ve made the decision to push the release of the Creator Packs to Q4. This will also affect the upcoming release of Bridges & Ports Expansion that will instead come in Q2 2025. We will continue dedicating our efforts to the base game before shifting focus to paid content. Our goal is to ensure the community is satisfied with the state of the game, and once we’ve achieved that, we’ll be excited to release these amazing packs to you!

/The Cities Team

For those interested, here is an update from Colossal Order and what they are currently dedicating their focus to:
Girl Bye!!!!

When they release something, everyone screams it's too early. So when they take time to make something better, it's suddenly bad and they're being rushed to release it already.

I really wouldn't want to be their dev right now, working with a community that can't decide if they want stuff soon or more developed must be horrible
