It's pure ideology. /zizek
I read it with a lisp.

As Hugh Laurie once famously said :
"Just because we all hate the german does not mean we have to like the Swedes Americans"

I think in this case, a lot of people who enjoy Soviet things and dislike American things, just dislike American things. But. They HATE German things, at least ww2 German things.
Ceterum censeo German-Space-Magic esse delendam.

Sigh...
A subtle reminder, keep the personal stuff out of the debate.

What about China, they were fighting since 1937 and nobody ever features them in a WW2 game. They usually come along as a minor nation at best. After Wargame Red Dragon I am glad there is no USSR in this game, no excuses for cheesy over powered prototype bullshit.

Aren't there enough eastern front games these times?

• Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943
• Graviteam Tactics: Operation Star
• Graviteam Tactics: Mius Front
• Theatre of War 3: Kursk
• Gary Grigsby's War in the East

...

Don't think everyone has be the red army in, tough the mentioned above are some of my favourites.

No. You know what is interesting? There was this point of time on wargame forums where I was fantasising about WW2 wargame and everyone went exactly like this... "Isn't there enough WW2 games?"
And I would kinda agree with you... if the actual theatre was something else than Normandy.

Call of Duty: World at War featured Russians.
Red Orchestra 1 and 2 features Russians.
The Men of War series features Russians.
Company of Heroes 2 features Russians.
War Thunder features Russians.
World of Tanks features Russians.
Several upcoming games feature Russians.

The Russians are not being persecuted. They are not being hung out to dry by the industry. The Russians are not being sacrificed on the alter of historical gaming in favor of bringing us more Western titles.

Normandy offers a familiar setting and affords Eugen and Paradox the opportunity to include a wide array of nations, directly appealing to a large crowd. The first game in a prospective franchise needs the highest chance possible to do well; especially since people are still spouting this "there's too many WWII games" meme as if it was still the mid-2000s.

Yes and hipsters are wearing Che Guevara tshirts. That is definitely a cause good enough to not bring an additional interesting units into the game. What will be the next excuse? Soviet guns do boom... just like US guns do boom, meaning there is no need for new guns that do boom since we already have them in the game.

... and then he goes and lists games that have absolutely nothing to do with the genre SD is in or are not even close to SD. You see you are just as (insert something here) as the OP is. He is Russian so he wants Russians in the game because of his ego. You are probably from US so for the sake of your ego you can't stand Soviets being in the game.

The rest sane and reasonable people ... we want Soviets in the game as well because they are an interesting faction. In a game that there are no remotely similar options in terms of scope and gameplay on the market.

Face it, Soviets will be added as a DLC, simply for the reason provided above. In the meantime it is fun to piss of "muh freedom" since the game is not out yet to spend my valuable time on it.
