Windows 7 Lenovo i5 with intel built-in Intel graphics and (turned off) Nvidia 5400m card, 8gb ram. Think it occasionally crashed before. Win XP compatibility mode not solving it.

You are on a laptop, I take it? Something I noticed with AoD 1.07+ when playing on my own laptop: If autosaves are entirely disabled, the game will eventually CTD without warning on an arbitrary date. Activating autosaves even on the least frequent setting prevents that.

... Not sure whether that is applicable in your case. You did not really provide much detail about the situation that led to your crash.

I always use Autosave.

Have a Similiar Problem here, with the Steam version, 1.07 wich dont even start up on my Win 10 laptop. A Toshiba Qosmio X70-B-112 Operating Win10
Right after the intro it crashed back to the desktop just saying as error report it ist running properly...

Tried compatibility mode and the "running as adminitrator" option,
Also updated it to version 1.09 and even 1.10rc7 but nothing helped it keeps crashing.
Even reinstalling or checking it up over Steam dosnt help.
Back on Win8 it was still running but on Winsh**10 its screwed.
