When we first started, I used to burn CD's on my laptop and send to journalists, one by one. Fredrik and I used to handle all the print, all the sales, all the marketing and distribution on our own. The development team produced good products but very much had their "developer goggles" on, not able to see beyond the particular task at hand. When we first started doing 3rd party titles we had to chase people to even get them to listen to us.
These days we have a development team refered to as the masters of Grand Strategy and who others attempt to copy. People chase us because they want us to publish their games, the top guys from some of the most influential companies in the gaming industry fly to Sweden in the middle of freezing winter just to attend our functions.
There's quite a few of us still with Paradox after so many years and there's good reason for it. Pride just doesn't cover how I personally feel about what Paradox is today. I don't think there are a lot of companies like ours in the industry, in fact - in any industry. And I can honestly say that with the hard work we put in, nobody deserves success more.
