To the developers: Which strategy games of the 90s did you play? Which of those were the most influential on you as game developers?

Whats up with the new style "midi" games ?, ie the Prussian one as an example. Is it to lure historically oriented players back to Paradox based on smaller type of games ?

Will we see a 100YW one, or Thirty year war one ? etc etc

Whats the computer game you have the fondest memories for? (for me its Planet's Edge by New World Computing)

What was your first strategy game? (mine was Shingen the Ruler on the NES)

Do you make your bed in the morning or leave it messy?

What is your favorite youtube-video?

My favorite Youtube videos is the ones about Simon's Cat.

How many PMs do you receive every day? (And how many of those do you answer?:D)

I receive no PMs every day and answer none of them ^^.

Little Big Adventure 2: Twinsen's Odyssey. My mother translated the dialogue for me, but she hadn't so much time so I pretty much learned English because of and by playing that game.

Does Heroes of Might and Magic 2 or Age of Empires count? I wasn't all that into strategy games before I started working at Paradox, but now I love EU3.

Do you make your bed in the morning or leave it messy?

I leave it messy, unless I have guests coming over.

They are awesome - that guy reeeeaaaally knows cats! :D

Question 1: do Paradox have any plans to start up any 'satellite' teams working on separate projects? In the UK, set up by King, say? :D;)

Question 2: One of my favourite early strategy games was "Master of Magic" - a sort of fantasy Civilisation, done with some thought and depth. Is there any possibility we might see a fantasy game using the Paradox engines, with the customary Paradox level of thought and depth?

I had forgotten the name of it, but apparently it was the first Lode Runner I played. Cool, I finally have a name on the first game I ever played :D

This is how it looked like:

I've got such fond memories of that game... was also the first game i've ever played :p

To each Paradox : do you have a phobia ? if yes, which ?

Yes. I'm afraid of heights and of deep water. Don't know if it's a real phobia, I can handle it sometimes and be scared but that's it. No real panic. I think it has much to do with my state of mind and stress level.

In the beginning Johan created Europa Universalis...

What about a quick history lesson about Paradox interactive?

When was paradox created? By whom? And why?

And has it been worth it? :D

It would be interesting to see some figures of Paradox Interactive as a company. I don't know the Swedish legislature on the issue, but I'd wager there should be lots of information publicly available, right? Like net worth and indebtness and whatnot. Where could I find this info?

From my limited experience, asking for such info is a little taboo on the boards. However, I only inquired to a limited amount of sales data.

Searching for public records isn't easy either, at least not for me since I'm not a Swedish speaker, so perhaps I've missed out on everything that does happen to be available publically. ;)

Revenue for 2008 was 42,016 million swedish kroner. (2008) - According to swedish yellow pages. That's roughly 5.8 mil USD.

What happened to Chris Stone - MrT?

Sorry if these have been asked/answered already.

How did P-Dox come up with such an ingenious system for representing the sliders in your games? I.e. how did you decide if closed/open society, hoi2, centralization/decentralization in EU 3 etc. I've always been so fascinated by them. Its a remarkable feature in your games! One that keeps me interested!

Also, how did you decide the bonuses that Religions give in EU3? I can see the tax issue with Confucianism as a way to keep China weaker (Changed now to that administrative tax system) Also how did you think up anarcho liberal? What did you have in mind when designing that ideology and all the others?

Do you have historians, political scientists on call to ask what would be plausible in designing your games? In another life I would love to research for you guys! :D

There should totally be a remake of that game.

I still remember getting zapped by some ray and falling into the floor boards, I was stuck at that spot in the game for a while.

Not just a remake, but a sequel. If you remember the ending, the earth came back, but the moon disappeared. But no game came after to continue the story.
