Patric worked for Paradox and was the one resposible for putting up the forum. But something happened with the forum/server and he had to recreate his account if I recall correctly. That's why his join date is screwed up, but he was the first one.

Thanks for the info :)

I guess its not "hot, way to hot."

What happened to Heart of Empire: Rome? I saw its screens, they are great. The scale of that game was gorgeous.

# Release: Canceled

:(

http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/...=convert&om_clk=gsupdates&tag=updates;title;1

New York, USA (February 1, 2007) - Paradox Interactive confirmed today the official cancellation of "Heart of Empire: Rome". The strategy title was to be published in Q1 2007 in North America by Paradox Interactive.

"Rome is a very popular era and there is still much ground that can be covered for this time period as far as computer games are concerned, said Fredrik Wester, Executive Vice President for Paradox Interactive. "It's unfortunate that this title will not be released, but we look forward to reveal new projects and new releases for 2007 and 2008".

Paradox, have you guys and girls ever thought about a game specifically geared towards a French revolutionary wars and napoleonic time frame?

Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira
les aristocrates à la lanterne !
Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira
les aristocrates on les pendra !

:D

Oh, and in english :

Ah! It'll be fine, It'll be fine, It'll be fine
aristocrats to the lamp-post
Ah! It'll be fine, It'll be fine, It'll be fine
the aristocrats, we'll hang them!

I would simply love a rev France, napoleon game.

Revolution and Counter-Revolution, maybe with the focus more or less on the politics and not the military [as thousands have already covered napoleon until the subject was old and wet] but dealing with the revolution and driving the hand of history would be brilliant fun. Play as a faction, revolutionary or otherwise, within France or maybe a faction within any european country at the time and first struggle to wrest control of your nation and then either hold off the rest of the world or seek to control it too.
Carve a new history out of a new ideal or maybe a very old one and let loose the winds of change.

Napoleon is dull for he has been made the heart and centre of too many things. But the Revolution is exciting and holds alot more potential, even the potential of napoleon himself for those that want it. But wouldnt it be more to also be able to be a candle and illuminate a new France? Or a Monarchist, re-actionary before the revolution and prepared to overthrow the ancien regime to install a glorified view of the old rights or any other manner of revolutionary who is ready to attempt to tame the discontent to raise challenge to the current and degenerate government and bring in a new dawn or the players design.
Or even to try your hand as the state maintaining the status quo against the coming storm.

Surely theres alot of ways a game like that would be alot of fun and unique to boot, find a niche and fill it, Paradox has always been good at that.

Thats a great idea for a game! But ya gotta throw a little army action in there.

actually, i was wrong...blackstar was just the first german forum we were hanging out at as it was the german distributer of Eu1:)

(my god it´s been a long time...)

yes. :D

At the time of the blackstar forum in 2000, there was also this forum here. We just didnt realized it at first. Well i did then from Nov 2000 on. :D
But the blackstar forum was lame, compared to this one here. The distributor didnt put much energy in it. And so....many fans got upset fast. But it was the elite of the first german Paradox fanbase. Tracid was part of it. Many others also. The german fanbase still meet in our german Forum....and discuss all kind of strategy games. Mainly the Paradox Games.

Unfortunatly many of them dont speak english very well...so you dont see them often here in this forum. But the more active ones from here transfer any important info to the german one also. So everyone is up-to-date. :D

Wow...amazing. Seems Paradox really imvests the money well. :)
Did you had this name before.....or have you changed it...since you are at Paradox?

Next question would be....if it was not already asked: How many of the Paradox Team, started as normal users here in the forum?

Captain Gars already had an account... this new nickname hides his true former identity... i'm just wondering which identity he had previously :p

I believe King was on the forums before...

Why should the original account now be inactive? Johan has two accounts as well and uses both of them regularly.

Unless, like Johan, he has a home and a work account... and therefore still uses the two ;)

The plot thickens... and the search continues... :p

Edit : safferli'd :p

True, and I like to walk through the forum incognito from time to time... ;) Haven't used it much lately though as I don't want to keep loging out/loging in all the time.

Well that was my initial idea, but I sometimes need to be logged in on my work account at home, and as I said above I don't want to login/log out all the time.
