I just bought the amazing Paradox pack from steam, how do I get the game serial numbers so I can register the games, or is it not possible if you purchase the games through steam?

Follow up, what game do you suggest playing first I am a huge FAN of the Hearts of Iron series.

I don't know what games are in there, but I'd say EU3 or Vicky 2. The older games are more event driven and less free-form, and CK can be a tough first or second Paradox game. You'll get into CK much easier after learning EU3 or Vicky.

Cool! I already have the games, and I almost feel like buying it too. :)
Go to the steam library and click the title you want to register. View CD-key should either be listed on the right or when you right click the game. Not every title have a CD-key though, and if they don't, they can't be registered.

Asked that already in the Paradox Pack thread, why is Victoria 2 cheaper at Steam than at Gamersgate?
Not that it would make sense for me, but it is also surprising that GG never gets a similar Paradox Bundle with all games. Would be a nice gift.
The DD platforms always tell that the publishers set the prices, so what reason has Paradox to favor Steam?

I'll second this question just for curiousity's sake. GG prices are pretty decent though. Vic 2 19.99 not too bad at all.
But he does have a point, the games do seem cheaper at Steam. Be it with sale or without...

Nyways,
Enjoy.

My impression is that Paradox dropped the $1=1€ ratio at Steam, but not at Gamersgate.

Examples:
Paradox Complete Pack US: $74.99 EU: 54,99€
Victoria 2 US: $19.99 EU: 17,49€

Not sure tough, as I don't know the US prices at GG. Well, there must be a reason why one alternative is favored by 12,5%.

Some of the Steam keys are also invalid on this forum it seems :(

I have a question about using counters in Vic 2. I know they are not available at the moment (shame :), however I was going to try make my own Mod for this.

I have looked in the victoria2/gfx/mapitems/counters (and mapcounters and small counters) directories and was very surprised to find the counter set for HOI3 !!!!!

Does this mean the only way to do this is to alter the animations to make a counter representation ?

Many thanks in anticipation

Game specific questions should be asked in the apropriate forum please.
In this case ask your question in the V2 modding forum. Thanks

Following on from the Steam/Warband serial key issue....:

I heard about Warband on Paradox. It was reading posts on Paradox that got me interested in buying the Warband game in the first place.

I'm only a Paradox gamer for a few months, so I'm not fully aware of what Paradox do. I assumed that all the games on the Paradox forums were actually created by Paradox. This it seems is not the case, as I learned today, when a post encouraged me to go to TaleWorlds to sort out a Warband serial key issue, on Paradox.

Question: Going forward, would it not be a good idea for Paradox to show in some simple way:

..... that a game is actually created by Paradox and their Full Support will apply, as the originator of the game.

.... or that Paradox is only the Publisher (or otherwise) and that their Full Support (and ability to solve issues) will be hindered by this fact.

Wouldn't this be better, and we gamers could then decide what path to take in purchasing our games.

Thanks to Paradox who I believe are trying to solve this issue currently.:D

They used to separate games that were made by Paradox from games that they only published on this forum into their own subforums. I don't know why they moved away from that model.

Just noticed that Hearts of Iron 3 Complete is up on Steam. Does this mean there will be no more future expansions/dlc for HOI3?

I doubt it. It probably just means it includes all the "current" items out for in one package. Like the old EUIII complete.

Well you already get all the information that you need, you just need to recognize it, see the Warband info at Steam. ;)

Title: Mount & Blade: Warband
Genre: Action, RPG
Developer: Tale Worlds
Publisher: Paradox Interactive

And btw.: A publisher is always the responsible party to satisfy the customer. They sell you the product, not the developer.
So maybe you'll get the solution quicker when you contact the developer directly, but the publisher is obliged to deliver solutions.

Greetings. I have two questions:

1) I just finally set up all the details in my Paradox forums profile and I want to know if there's an avatar with city of Krakow? I can see other non-existing countries (that is ones ought to be created or liberated) but can't see Krakow (white and blue flag). Can you please add this? Thanks.

2) This one was probably asked somewhere but I'm not very good at searching forums. Will "Divine Wind" be available on Steam and when, also, can I magically change "signature" in bottom left corner of the game to other so I can play with my friends who have copies from other sources?

Thank you in advance.

For Krakow - check "Victoria 2 avatars" page 13 - KRA republic

Steam will probably get Divine Wind once they rewrite the installer to "Steamishness". Start a ticket with your request on Steam to let them know they should hurry more.
The "signature" you are talking about is based upon your game files. If you are playing the same game as them you will have the same letters. (So if they have Divine Wind, you need it too, or they will have to make a second install of EU3 without divine wind in it. Same thing for mods - you all need to use the same mod.) Finally you also need to restart the game completely after every disconnect, since resigning changes the checksum (which is what the "signature" is called).

Thank you very much for your response Nikolai (that is my real name btw :))

With the avatar case, trust me I would not bother anyone answering my trivial question if I would not checked all the possible solutions myself.

In change avatar screen I only have these options:

- EU3 Avatars (283 avatars)
- In Nomine Avatars (35 avatars)
- HOI flag avatars (108 avatars)
- EU shield avatars (214 avatars)
- Victoria leader avatars (143 avatars)

Obviously, there's no Victoria coats of arms to choose from.

As for the second part, here goes more detailed explanation.

Atm, I have a checksum (yeah that was the word :)) starting with T (can't check this though as I'm at work now) and it's STEAM version of EU3 Complete + HttT and patch 4.1c. My friend has exactly the same setup hi did not purchased from STEAM. His checksum is EISH.

It was always very confusing, but maybe someone can give me a bit more of explanation.

Thanks.

I think it's fairly clear as Golwar states.

As for support. We always try to make sure your experience is as smooth as possible, we're selling you something after all. We handle a lot of the support ourselves, but for the harder cases we work closely with the devs and plan patches together.

So if you have a technical problem letting us/developer know is the best way to making sure it ends up our to-do list. It's a fairly long list however so sometimes you'll have to wait.

No, there will be many more.
