But back on topic:

Have you guys ever given thought to using the Installers as the first point of contact with the game.
Make the installer and the install process the first step in the Immersion process. Draw the user into the game before he's even installed it...

I mean, all PDox titles are about immersion, and the installer has such potential in that regard.
For the best example, install a copy of Red Alert 2. It throws you into experiencing the game atmosphere right from the start.
Do try it if you haven't. It's a work of art. And I'm talking about an installer here...
Here is a video of the install process & into to the game. Watch the top right & enjoy the sounds.

One thing at the time. We are currently working on improving the launcher, after that we might get to the installer. :) I do agree that it can do much to set the mood of the game though!

Over the last two days I've read about rumours that you don't like it if people use so called bad words.

Now I wondered, since this is a Swedish website, you can surely say <curse words removed by Kallocain>? :)

This is partially intended as a joke question, yes. Sorry. I'm not good at humour, just a German...

Nice it's nice to know that PDox is looking towards improving these. Too many companies neglect their potential.

Rumours ? You might want to read the forum-rules first

5.You will not use expressions that are considered foul, vulgar, sexually harassing, racially offensive or in any way discriminatory. These expressions include, but are not limited to, ethnic slurs, hate speech and religious epithets. Whether an expression fits under this definition will be determined by Paradox staff at the time

Curiously I didn't find them. Obviously I didn't search hard enough. I would have asked it anyway, not only as a joke question, but because I am sincerely interested in their stance.

Thing is, <curse words removed by Kallocain> too, but that might very well be due to non-representative evidence- is used relatively more often in Sweden, to a point where one could say that it is much less outright "vulgar" than simply an emotional expression -if even that-, but this again probably varies from person to person and locality to locality. Either way it's the impression I got from my contact with Swedish media and persons. One could therefore argue that it would be a fair question to state, as confusion is best avoided by confronting it.

Thing is, sh*t -and as far as I have noticed p***y too, but that might very well be due to non-representative evidence- is used relatively more often in Sweden, to a point where one could say that it is much less outright "vulgar" than simply an emotional expression -if even that-, but this again probably varies from person to person and locality to locality. This forum is in English, not Swedish. Stop cussing.

If you're so bent on talking about Swedish, try it here or not at all.

That's just my advice, a mod will probably be less lenient.

One could also argue that it's best just to assume a stance of politeness, if only in vocabulary.

I don't know what Swedes you have been around, but no one I know uses those words, ever. Please do not use them on the forum again. The next time you will get an infraction point.

What would you call it if I told you I never sleep? Could hardly be called a "work" ethic...

It's midnight in Sweden.

Kallocain is in NY currently with the rest of the team (at least I think I saw her on a group photo over there). ;)

On that note:

Paradox team, how has Enewald gotten away with what he does for so long? :p
