Expansions will never be released on CD by themselves, only in compilations such as the recent EU3 Chronicles.

In most cases the manuals come on the CD in PDF format anyway, just like they do on downloaded versions.

The HoI3 expansions were released on CD (not including the base game) in Germany. But that's a special case, I guess.

Being edited.

hopefully we'll post it on wednesday.

Europa Engine

You all have done an outstanding job on Hearts of Iron series!!! It's one of my most favorite games to play.

Is paradox considering changing the Europa Engine to a more 3D feel like "Sengoku" while still maintaining the feel the Grand Strategy game Hearts of Iron3?

I would just like to see some really nice visuals of the coastal, forest, jungles, desert, mountains and hills. Even some urban areas while our tanks roll over them or our fighter pilots fly through the valleys enroute to their targets.

Europa is the old EUII era engine, all the new stuff is on the Clausewitz engine. You can really answered your own question though; Rome, Sengoku, and CK2 all have a more 3d look and rotatable camera.

Does Paradox playtest patches and expansions? Because it doesnt looks like it - many people (myself included) reported that in "HoI3 For the Motherland" CVs and BBs are now almost impossible to sink - I run 10 hands off games (using 3.04 patch) (as Cuba) which I let run untill 1945 and I NEVER saw more than 10 capital ships as sunk.

Yes we do.

The main problem with bugtesting this kind of things is that all players plays the games differently. All bugs does not show in every playthrough...

Thank You

Will Paradox be using the new engine for any future expansions for HOI to give it a more 3D look?

HOI3 is on the same engine (Clausewitz) as EU3, Rome, Sengoku, CK2, Victoria 2. So there's no "new engine" to use, doesn't mean they are exactly the same graphics wise, obviously.

You could of course update it to "will Paradox be importing more 3D features to HOI3"

In which case I'll speculate that if they had wanted to, they would've done so during FTM development. One reason might be that HOI3 is a whole world map (as opposed to Rome, Sengoku, CK2 which have limited maps) which might conflict with the way they set up the map.

I hope you are wrong.

The only reason I even bought HOI3 was my love for the board games, Axis and Allies and Risk
The game has no visual appeal and if Paradox wants to include a different gamer into the mix, it would definately benefit them to make the graphics more appealing to the next generation of gamers. IMHO

When someone posts a bug in the given game forum does it help to post "fixes" also in the same thread? Or do the developers not want that since any "fix" posted would be the forumites opinion of the said issue?

If you know that something is fixed, then please write it in the same thread. This does not mean that I won't test it anyway but your opinion might help me a lot.

Would you guys ever consider dressing up in period costume for a Crusader Kings 2 trailer? There are some fun possibilities there. The last couple of Magicka trailers were a bit hoot on youtube. . . .

By the way, my wife says that the CK1 faces were all based on "some programming guy's college roommates." Would anyone like to confirm or deny that? :) On a similar note, will we be seeing any familiar faces as Easter eggs in CK2?

Who, or what is 'Ikaron'? On Amazon UK, he, or the company is selling all the latest Paradox Interactive games on CD. I wonder if he or the company is associated with Nextworld.in, the online store, from whom I purchased HOI3, in India? By the way, I am sure Silent Hunter 4 Gold Edition will work very well on Alienware M18x (the Dell gaming Laptop.) What about Paradox Interactive games? Is Naval War Arctic Circle a graphical simulation of Ships? If I were to design a game, it would be a graphical sim, as well as have the detail level of HOI3. To be frank, will there ever be a perfect wargame perceived, made for the PC? Please give me information about 'Ikaron', is it a part of Paradox Interactive?
