I WONDER...could it be...

A Trojan War game ?

Agamemnon...The wanderings of Odyssus...the Iliad....Achilles... Homer

The Greek City States...Sparta...

1200 BC ??

That's basically what I've been calling for years but with teaser #7 I think we won't see that.

Elections and Technological Development are important parts of the game.

VICTORIA 3 OR ROME 2 CONFIRMED!! !! !!

With different, changed names to avoid being a sequel of course!

Finally a real hint... :D

Classical antiquity? I think you mean ancient antiquity. With classical antiquity being the era following alexander's death.
I know this was on page 3, but it jumped out: 'Classical' originally referred to the golden age of Athens (the 5th century BC). At least in the context of Greece, it begins at the Battle of Marathon and ends at Alexander's death.

And nor was medieval industrial revolution universal war 3 (UW3) with Romans :p

With Hearts of the Eagles - Sengoku Edition.

Sorry to say it, but I disagree witth pretty much everything except for Doomdark and Victoria. :p Where did you get "OUTSIDE of the years 400 AD to 2000 AD"? Guessing? It could be anything outside 769 to today, OK. But from where did you get 400 AD and 2000 AD? Just to be able to exclude Dark Ages? (which I would like with a start date in 395). Also, the stabbing is a most likely "Truman-hint" (as in the EU4 teasers) in my opinion.

No, I think that 400 is the absolute extent of which you could extend Crusader Kings. If this is a new big IP, there's no way in hell it'd be able to overlap with other time eras. That'd be for sequels. Also the fact that pretty much nothing of technological importance happened between 400 and 700 except maybe ploughs, stirrups and horse collars. (That's literally all things I could find on short notice invented between 400 and 700) There's a reason it's called the Dark Ages. Rome and Greece would be way too focused for a big IP, so then you're left with antiquity, which was pretty much exclusively ruled by kings, not by elections.

Therefore... SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

CK2 or any CK can only logically be stretched back as far as 641 AD, not any further.

Even 565 AD is a date unsuitable for CK2 or any CK game. Almost no factions from that time exist in CK era.

You can't have anything before 769 and 1066 on the same game considering the way the engine is designed. You need to focus on one period. In the mod I'm helping out with, we choosed the Dark Ages-part. Vanilla choosed the 1066-1453 part.

Considering how the engine is currently designed, you could represent both periods with one engine, but it's not the current ck2 engine. In fact you could do anything, it's just a mtter of how to do it and how to make it not take up to much power.

Yes, you could in theory, but it would be uninteresting for PDS to do so and in CK2 it is not possible.

That is up to them to decide.

No, it is not. It is impossible with CK2 to achieve an even somewhat accurate experience on either of the dates. If we for instance have 476 and 1066, either one of those will be great and the other one ahistorical or both will be half-shallow. The mechanics are designed for the later period, no matter what they do.

Of course, a Sunset Invasion kind of project might be possible, and I assume that was what you meant, but honestly, I don't think it would be worth it.

Not that part. The "but it would be uninteresting for PDS to do so" part.
