restarted system
-reinstalled the Game with a fresh download.

Please try a **clean** reinstall:

- Remove the game from Steam (uninstall)
- Manually delete all these files and folders, if still there:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\steamid\637090\remote\C0\SGS1\
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\C0\SGS1\
(first move any valued the saves elsewhere)

- Install the game again

I hope that does it for you!

Different person, same problem.
I have done 2 complete uninstall/reinstalls. I have deleted the content of the directories as you suggested. I still get an infinite black load screen no matter what option I choose on the main menu. I did not have any technical problems whatsoever before the update.

Edit: I appear to have fixed it by deleting the registry key "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH".

I'm having the same issue as the OP. Only difference is I'm using the GOG version of the game. Everything worked fine until I installed the update and now I get infinite loading screen when selecting any of the options on the main menu. New game/load a saved game/edit the paradox stuff. Infinite load screen. I have clean installed several times and also removed the registry key mentioned in the above post.

Soooo being Super Diligent, i've tried this again.
Whipped the system clean of Battletech (installs, save dirs, local data, Reg keys.)
and reinstalled.

As soo as i login, my save games get restored from the cloud... kewl. None will load.
New campaign.... Same deal, infinity load
Skirmish ... wont load
mechbay... wont load

lets be clear, i played this for just over 36 hours since game launch. This was working.
it is not now Since the patch.

Soo new plan, forced window mode.... nothing loads.
Various video size resolutions.... nothing loads.
Disabled ambient Occlusion and V-Sinc, cause someone someplace said that fixed their shit,....nothing loads.

Running GeForce GTX 980, with the newest version of drivers.... 397.31, nothing loads.
Running GeForce GTX 980, with the last version of drivers....391.35 (on win10 installing this was a murderous Affair).... unsurprisingly nothing loads.

Anyone got anything for me ??\

I don't know why this helped, but did anyone else try this?

Also there is a new beta patch 1.0.2, please try that.

Please attach here the game log:

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Output log afer i booted the game, clicked new campaign and then alt+f4 after +-5 minutes of endless loading.
Nothing really. You haven't been doing any customisation of heraldry, manifest.csv or profiles.dat?

I added single emblem and two coresponding lines into the manifest. Didnt touch profiles.dat , i think this file isnt even present anywhere. I would understand it might prevent me from loading a save which used it, but i always get stuck even after reverting to vanila files and trying say skirmish or anything else.

After a bit of messing around, i tried to re-add the custom emblem and coresponding lines. I just slapped them in first time (pre-patch) and it worked.
Apparently you have to be incredibly carefull with the formating, because there is bunch of end-lines that are not really visible unless you move cursor though them via arrow keys. Then trial & error until output_log doesnt list any errors. In the end i managed to get it working.
Thanks a lot for the help.

The very same problem to me. Tried clean instalation, deleted registry and all remaining files. Run the new beta branch. But still no go

ok so this is Crazy. how is a fresh Install Calling for files from before the install ??

I'm an active modder, working on weapons, Armour, pilots etc. These are all kept in a Separate directorys outside the Steam folder architecture, and have not been "installed" since the clean installs of BATTLETECH

Yet when i parse through the Output_log, there i see 12 calls for the last mod I was working on before the patch... and since i haven't reinstalled them (cas why would I need to fro a fresh install) the game is still calling for these Custom new weapons. (which were ingame and working fine before the patch.)

Note this is after

Uninstalling the game, Deleting the game folder, deleting the save folder, deleting the low_data directory, Manually Erasing the REG keys.....

How many different directory's does this program install itself into ????

could I have that list please, because I need to make a batch file to ERASE all of them.

So Looking at tyhe link you provided, the PROFILE.DAT server side is still holding the settings from before the patch............................................ which means there no wa for me to fix it, unless i can figure out the sate of my ManifestVersion.Json that got over writen by a patch i dint know was coming and probably don't have a backup of in the exsact state I had between reboots when the patch dropped on me....

How do i delete the server side Profile.dat ???

So As per the fellow in the other Thread, I had to recreate ManifestVersion.Json File, and re-introduce all the associated files for the mods directory, and all referenced locations.

They had to be in the same order as well, and now the game loads.

This was new one for me. Thanks for your time people, Hope what we learned here helps Smooth over how it works, with the SynC of the Profiles.DAT file, in the future for all the modders out here, I really hope it does.
