Thank you all. :)

As a plug that is almost as shameless as the character herself, Appia's story of transformation begins with her getting a field promotion from vice-admiral to CEO of MSI, and she negotiates a truce and a subsequent peace with our protagonists. Subsequently, she is confronted with the reality of her nature as an owner of numerous sex slaves after one of them asks her if she will free them. Appia, having a negotiation with our protagonists soon after, contrasts herself with (previously nominated for this AARward) Rivkah Of Unity, who's monstrous appearance makes Appia question her rationalised monstrous behaviour. Appia faces herself and realises that she must change and that MSI must change, which makes her release her slaves and instill radical reforms within MSI. Ultimately, we'll see her grow to become the mother of the new age of MSI and the formerly Pre-FTL civilisations in the surrounding region.

Ok, I promise I did mean to spend more time on the forums on what was supposed to be my week off - probably my only one until next December - but, between a broken down car and having to sort out a possible mortgage, things didn't go to plan and as a result I'm going to have to open this up again.

Given the opportunity, I would like to point folks to a new AAR from someone who has never won this award, although they have been around the forum for about 14 years or so.

Please check out the work of @Ran Miller and his Crittark Saga in the CK3 subforum. Although his main character Crittark is interesting, I want to offer this award for his development of Mara the Meek, one of the supporting characters who gets a minor subplot. This new AAR has a tremendous visual appeal and looks exactly like a graphic novel. Not only are the visuals excellent but the stories (because it reads more like an anthology) are well told. Finally, although this is based in the AGoT universe, you can easily pick up this work without knowing anything about that series.

Congrats to @Ran Miller !

Congrats @Ran Miller! This one's already on my list, but Thanksgiving week caused me to lapse on my reading. Well done. Hope to catch up soon.

Glad you recommended this one @Chac1, because I would have. @Ran Miller has produced a novel AAR with great characters, of which Mara the Meek is a standout. Congrats!

Personally I do not really like @Ran Miller writing, it has allot of room to improve.

1st: One of the losses of our present understanding relative to that of our ancestors is that we think becoming a master as the end goal of a career, when in reality it was, is and will always be only the beginning of doing what you have invested all the years of training into.

2nd: Getting over the hill of overconfidence into the depths of realising that you have a long way to go is a necessary waypoint on the journey to true competence.

3rd: The guest at the party does not think about how one cake lacks, instead only 'cool, two cakes!'.

Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to do something to confirm the nomination?
Or to nominate further?
If so I will nominate @Koweth for Hrodberht - not that easy to bring to life a rebel, but honestly I barely have time to read sadly... all my free time I put into making my own little thing, and since I am kind of new here... its all quite overwhelming, so much to read...

Apologies @Ran Miller . We should have directed you to the first post in the thread with the rules regarding nominations. That would have clued you in on your responsibilities to provide the next nomination.

But that said, a fine choice!

@Koweth is overdue for some notice for his fine AARs. Well done!
