Congratulations @CBR JGWRR ! A good story indeed, if which I am woefully behind.... And I am not good at binging anything. :p

Just to clarify guys, her maiden name is Naomi HaMaadimi. :) She gets married within the first few pages and thereafter is Naomi Of Unity, with the "Of Unity" being their new marital surname that's used by them and their children.

And thank you all.

Well, at 83 pages start to finish, it will be a fair binge. :)

Nuts, I completely forgot about who to nominate, my apologies. Did mean to do a bit more reading in the two weeks since I was nominated, but I barely had time to work on my narratives, let alone read other people's ones... My apologies.

As a result of my limited reading list, I have one character in particular in mind - Araj Zilfallon of @Macavity116's "Unsung Paragons of the Forgotten War". While many characters in the narrative stand out, Araj stands out in particular.

It is not often that we get nominations for the main villain in a narrative; the focus is on the heroes of the story and how they face down the schemes of their enemy. But Araj is one of those stand-out villains who feels like a complete character and a worthy foil to our protagonists, a man true to his beliefs, and above all, is memorable and makes you look forward to when he gets his comeuppance in a cathartic way.

Congratulations @Macavity116 !

Oh, my gosh! Thank you!

You know, this is the second time that someone nominated me for this awAARd because of a villainous character. I guess Araj Zilfallon and Akira Robinson are officially in the same narrative weight class now.

I know my house rules insist on the posting of a new chapter as soon as a weekly awAARd comes my way, but I will have to ask for your patience, everyone. A new chapter of Unsung Paragons was posted a few hours ago specifically because the military is asking me to do extra duty before the overseas deployment starts.

I will move quickly to bring you an extra chapter this week, but some extra time is required. Again, my most humble thanks! :)

Congrats to you @Macavity116 . Well deserved. I am still catching up slowly with your new one. I have also refrained from putting you on the nomination list when given the opportunity because I knew it would put you in a time bind. Rewards are sometimes mixed blessings. Congratulations nonetheless.

I'm going to skip the usual spiel, I'm concerned it may come across as mean spirited if repeated too often. But rest assured I am absolutely still thinking it.

Congratulations @Macavity116, as others have said it is no an impressive feat to get a villain nominated for one of these awards. They can be far harder to write well than a hero.

I see you, @El Pip. I'll admit I'm going to miss these back-and-forth exchanges. Hopefully I won't traumatize you too much when I return to the forums next year. ;)

I have to agree. If you factor in the incredibly positive reception The Broken Gates got over on the CKIII AAR Forum, then you could say I now have three villains who stand above the rest of my original characters as my most memorable creations. I've made over 700 named original characters for my stories since 2006 (yes, really) but the ones who get the most attention were the trio of primary evildoers: Akira "Paradox" Robinson, Malum Ralpakin, and now Araj Zilfallon.

If time permits, maybe I'll pop over to the SolAARium and try to start a conversation about writing antagonistic characters and straight-up evil villains. Might make for a fun "last ride" before I pop smoke for 10 months. :D

Have you read American Caesar: A USA Kaiserreich AAR by @Bloodfelt? Well, I need exactly ten seconds to explain it to you:

"America is falling into anarchy. The republic is in chaos. And the republic needs a sword. A leader."

Enter one Douglas MacArthur. @Bloodfelt has woven an alternate history story around the famed (or perhaps infamous) General surrounded on all sides by enemies in a Second American Civil War. This version of MacArthur remains tied to his historical origins while acting in a believable way for the circumstances. (Chapter 14 caught a few of us by surprise, but once @Bloodfelt explained the reasoning, it does make sense for General MacArthur to do what he did.)

This week, I strongly recommend you check out American Caesar and my nominee for Best Character Writer of the Week: @Bloodfelt!
