It is interesting how a variety of experience has hindered trait development. What are the skill levels of German field commanders at this point? Comparable for various levels of command?
It must have been an odd case with Koch-Erpach. I have changed his roles many times, that's probably why he has acquired so many different abilities percentages, but not yet a full one. But he is about to become Battle Master and his skill level is maxed!

February 8 - March 1, 1946

With the capitulation of the USA, a flurry of other surrenders comes by, as the Wehrmacht is demanding and getting to custody, all the governments-in-exile that have now nowhere to hide. Among the high profile ones are (Free) France and the UK, at last! We have all their high brass, including King and President. :p

For the moment we shall control their territories directly. Instead, Yemen, Oman, Bhutan and Nepal have adapted their cabinets to our own will, effectively "bending their knee" to Berlin...

I am happy at this point. All goals have been reached (this was done already), but with the addition of denying any goal to my rivals, both the Allies and the Communists.

The Canadians are not putting their weapons down. It seems to me that we have to take extreme measures... the construction of our first nuclear weapon is complete at the right time (by the end of February). We shall not sacrifice any more German lives because of some Canadian stubbornness to do senseless resistance.

A heavy Junkers-488 is being loaded with the nuclear weapon in Japan-controlled Seattle. Proposed target city: Vancouver. The last important city in Canada and powerful seat of resistance. We should not lose more soldiers because of Canada's idiocy...

Hitler gives the go ahead for the mission with the codename: OPERATION ENDSPIEL (Operation Endgame)...

Congrats on defeating the Allies in all but name!
I see you are more than fed up with the stubborn Canadians, that should teach them (and the rest of the world) to mess with Germany!

It is not my fault if they don't surrender. I will not tolerate any more German losses because they think they can do guerilla on me. Only Winnipeg and Vancouver remain as free (strategic) cities of any importance, but even if I capture Vancouver I will still have to march to Winnipeg to defeat them, given their high national unity. That's where the nuclear device comes in. ;)

One more reason we have to defeat Canada: there is still Ireland and Mexico hiding as governments-in-exile with them. We can only be certain of their cooperation if we capture their ringleaders.

Kampfgeschwader 26 "Löwen" (Lion) is over Vancouver. 3 wings of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) scramble to intercept it... they probably are not aware of the new terrible weapon we are about to unleash over their beautiful city...

This is how Vancouver looked in the 40s... just before one specific Ju-488 made its appearance!

March 1-3, 1946

First of March, 1946. A horrible but necessary day for humankind. The insistence of the Canadians to keep the fighting has forced us to drop the first nuclear bomb. The fair city of Vancouver is all but destroyed. And for what? Now the world has seen how futile is resistance against the New World Order.

Our strategic bomber wing was hit hard by the Canadian interceptors but managed to complete its mission.

We don't lose time. It is time to end this war. Two divisions are dashing from Seattle to enter the destroyed provisional capital of Vancouver and make the terrified Canadians surrender once and for all!

Entering a recently nuked city... yeah that's not a fantastic idea o_O

Wish HoI3 had events that caused the country to capitulate after being nuked if they were completely outmatched, similar to Japan in OTL. That would probably have happened here. After all, what are they fighting for now? The war is over

So I'm here to collect my betting money on the US tanks entering Ber- oh.

Well then. This is awkward. I'll be off to join the resistance in Africa then... if they're still active.

And so the New World, for all its power and might, falls to the conquerors of the old.

Do Fraser of the Frontier and his Eskimo pal still resist?
Will this end in a flurry of further diplomacy?

Thank you all for watching me the past few years, guys. :)
I am indeed rounding it up... giving you an epilogue of the new world order of a potential "benevolent" Bismarckian Axis. A few screenshots remain to have an understanding of the map and some for the internal policy of the new conquered and indirectly administered lands.

March 8-11, 1946

After the shock of the bomb and the seizing of the city of Vancouver, Canada comes to its senses. A puppet government is formed. The Mexican and Irish governments have nowhere to hide now. We demand the end of hostilities everywhere.

Indeed, after a few days, Mexico and Ireland are bestowed new governments, loyal to the Axis!

It is over! Yes, finally the new world order! The proxy war between Brazil and Uruguay/Paraguay does not interest us. We will leave the Brazilians break the deadlock, if they so desire.

Hitler is puzzled by the inability of the Brazilians to break the much smaller countries in its South, but it does not play a role anymore.

Perhaps the bumbling struggle in South America provides a useful foil to highlight the efficient and benevolent governance of the peaceful new order.

Of all the territories we conquered we decide to free India as an Asian puppet country.

xm8ns0.jpg

India should be a free country and help us defeat the last communist strongholds in Tibet, Sinkiang, and Xibei San Ma. The other major war, between Nationalist China and the Western aforementioned Chinese provinces is a stalemate because of the difficult mountainous terrain with extremely low infrastructure. By opening another route (Southwestern) we are certain that these Communists will soon sign a deal as well.

Remember that the Soviet Union and Mongolia had already capitulated to the Axis and signed separate peace treaties when Moscow fell.

The new era in 1946. A Bismarckian dream that washes away the shame of defeat of the 1st World War...

Hitler and his cabinet enjoy such a big approval, they decide it is not even worth it to control the media after all. After more than a decade of a heavy hand on the media, newspapers will be completely free to write as they see fit. After all, they only need to describe the feats of our glorious leadership. We shall be returning to normality in all aspects of our society. After 6 years of war, finally a fully civilian economy once more.

Time to make toasters and TV sets for our lads who get to come home to their housewives and small children!

With a popularity of almost 75%, the NSDAP has no fear of the few voices that may express dissent, after such a glorious world victory! :)

No, the war is over for Germany and Axis. All major nations defeated, all victory goals achieved. The two regional wars in South America and Central Asia are not of interest to the Pax Germanica that is about to start now. :)

However, I still owe you guys certain save games for challenge (try save the USA after the invasions have started in summer 1945) as well as a postmortem of the game to highlight the most important moments, mistakes, etc. Oh, and I have to put decent bookmarks too.

This is the last snapshot I got... enjoy the heartland of Germany as it would have stayed in my alternate reality. Hitler was so fond of Britain, he decided to unite the two nations. He also kept Northern France... Charlemagne's dream?! Of course the Eastern provinces for "Lebensraum" have been kept as well.

Notice how production and resources production has fallen now that we tuned again to civilian economy. All this time, we were only self-sustaining in coal!
