Here is an AAR with Brunei. Standard settings. I was going to turn off lucky nations but forgot to, oh well. I will do the introduction today and later in the week bring in some pictures and continue the AAR in detail. It is currently about 1610 and I started in 1399. Never having played in Asia or Malaysia I thought that Brunei would be fun, and she has been.
Brunei started in 1399 with a small army and a reasonable fleet, no allies or CBs. The Sultan looked around and eyed Malacca's COT with great interest. That trade rightfully belongs to Brunei. Troops were recruited, a few transports built and Malacca was insulted voraciously. Soon Malacca embargoed Brunei. This insult could not be born. The Sultan rallied his troops and declared war. The treacherous dogs of Aceh joined Malacca but the Sultan was not deterred. Malacca was invaded and the land route from Aceh to Malacca was blocked with the fleet. Malacca was quickly crushed and annexed and Aceh's fleet failed to break the blockade. A desperate struggle resulted in Aceh being soundly defeated and made a vassal of Brunei.
The newly owned COT was soon filled with Brunei traders and the Sultan contemplated what to do next. The formation of Malaya called him and he started planning his moves on Java.
More tomorrow.
