Playing 1933 scenario as Germany, AOD 1.02 (yes I didn't upgrade to 1.04 or 1.05 - doing that now :D)
Teched up (land doctrines, infantry IV and medium tanks etc) got the Sudetenland in Sep 1938 and by March 1939 I had 76 infantry, 7 motorized and 13 light tank divisions. Many of them, especially the motorized/tank divisions had brigades. All the main corps have the best commanders.

Now for some reason the event that allows me to get the rest of Czechoslovakia didn't fire up so in May 1939 I went ahead and dow'd the Czechs. Note their powerful Sudeten provinces are already gone (controlled by me). The Czechs have about 25-30 divisions, mostly infantry 3.

Right away things start going wrong - even when I outnumber them 3 or 4 to 1, I'm taking 10 times the losses and it's very very hard to push them back - I'm an experienced HOI player - been playing all the way since HOI 1 so I know all/most of the tricks (as you can see my join date is Aug 2001 so I've been around a very long time :)) ... eight days later POLAND dows me and I'm thinking ok, this should be a challenge. And 2 weeks later the French and Brits also dow me. Fine!

Two months later, I'm pretty much screwed, and ONLY the Czechs and Poles did the main fighting. The French haven't launched any ground offensives - only air raids, along with the Brits. The Poles have a large army - probably 60-65 divisions with infantry 3. As some posters have pointed out, they fight like Terminators. In one battle on flat terrain, 4 Polish infantry divisions hold off my attack from 3 sides of 7 infantry and 3 panzer effortlessly. I also notice the Polish/Czech defense is super but MY defense is as sucky as my attack lol. And for some strange reason my divisions sometimes get completely destroyed when they are attacked. I have plenty of places to retreat to, but they are at or near full strength and they get wiped out when their org starts falling crazily.

It really shouldn't be happening - I definitely have superior tech (most of my tech went into infantry, armor/artillery and land doctrine) and a very large/balanced army. It was the summer of 1939 but it sure felt like 1945 to me lol ... anyway I'm going to upgrade my AOD to 1.05 and try again.

Hello;

We are now working in some corrections, and your battle problems is one of them. Tonight, or tomorrow at least it will be downloadable from this forum.

Game Crash as Soviets 1934

Playing as Soviets 1934 norm/norm in July of 1936 an event fired (not Spanish Civil War) result was Excellent but it I couldn't click on it. Then i got a box with Abort Retry Ignore, stating missing event. When i could finally click ignore, it had already crashed. View attachment sov34crash.rar Save game attached

I have a similar problem. Played the 33 scenario (normal normal) as germany and focused on Infantry and Tanks. Equipped my units with (SP) Artillery Brigades and researched ground warfare doctrins.
My tanks are doing ok but my infantry sucks. German Infantry IV with Artillery cant win against the polish infantry, even if i have the superior numbers.

Whats GDE, how can i change it?

Playing the 33 scenario as Germany, there is a VII Deutschland Class Heavy Cruiser in production at the beginning of the scenario. Is this a mistake?
And why is the Sharnhorst Class a IV Battleship and not a Battlecuriser?

Hello;

Please, when you post your doubts, please specify if it's with AoD version or with Arma version. Thanks.
AoD 1.5

AoD 1.05, 1936 scenario. Playing as Germany had a CTD when the Anschluss fired. Reloaded from autosave and it fired OK 3 days later with no crash.

I was playing at highest speed and a large number of message boxes had just appeared when it crashed - so I guess this might have been the reason.

Hello;

We are now working in some corrections in order to prevent this sort of CTD with AoD version.

AOD 1.05 Soviets 1934 norm/norm Game crashed again this time I caught the event. DC-3 event for Soviets fires on July 16, 1936 Event missing as the game freezes up and crashes. A Not-yet described Event Command is one of the messages with Abort Retry or Ignore as your choices.

Small thing that can be corrected in due time, more of an annoyance. In 1933, the Canadian Ministers are all wrong. RB Bennett is the PM, yet the leader of the opposition Mackenzie King is his foreign minister. Furthermore, his entire cabinet is made up of opposition members. It would be nice if things were as historically accurate as possible.

Thanks

San Marino should be a clone of Italy in politics, as the Sammarinese Fascist Party ruled it.

Bug in the techtree. For some technologies that should exclude each other, there is no entry for exclusion entered in the files. That is true for all starting naval and land doctrines. That leads to situation where countries could research technologies that should exclude each other. Example is SOV which can research "combined land/sea" and "mobile warfare", or Argentina that is able to research both "decisive battle" and "block enemy ship". Reason are missing definition for blocked technologies in the scenario files. However I'm strongly for the solution to fix the dependencies in the tech tree. That would also allow to abandon doctrines and research in another direction. Atm. when one choice is blocked it can't be taken by the player ever.

In 1933, the Canadian Ministers are all wrong.

The same is true for probably most of the countries in 1933. Also, they didn't change the minister availability dates so you can't change them until January 1st, 1936.

BIGGEST problem.

I just noticed another one:
There four Techs in the game which are abbreviated as 'Mass. Prod.', which are: Air Force Mass Production, Army Mass Production, Navy Mass Production and Mass Production.
Since it is ingame rather hard to tell them apart it would be nice if you could find other names or other abbreviations.
Also:
Merge the two tiny weeny provinces near Edinburgh into one. It is nigh impossible to click these if there are armies in them or see which kind of army (size) are in them and there seems to be no important reason for them.
