I'll try to work on getting that up, but we are going into exam weeks now lol...not a fun time for me.

Wow. I'm impressed Byak...you did a ridiculous amount of work pretty much alone, didn't realize that just one person constructed that whole structure of inheritance events. Though it probably says so in the credits :p .

Anyways, my biggest issue with this event sequence idea is that I have spent so much time with the Caliphate recently that I have apparently lost my edge when trying to work with other nations...so I can't figure out what to give to Byzantium if it wins the war. Any ideas?

How about flocks of converts, where most of turkey ends up converting to Orthidox as the main Islamic power in region will no longer be able to come to their aid. That would really help them in all stand points. Just a quick thought.

Well, Byz already gets booster events for gaining and holding the turkish lands. As it seems from the event descriptions, Byzantium seems to be on the defensive (and that is also quite likely when comparing the two powers in military strength), so while Byz could get things like bonus stability and perhaps some land tech boost, it would sound more logical that Kaliphate would get problems from losing. Things like stab loss, revolt risk or even worse. It depends on what they have to gain from the wars.

Byzantium Events...

By 1533, the Byzantine emperor worried greatly to the fate of the Roman Empire, as the Caliphates influenced grew with each passing day in the Rum lands. The fall of inner Anatolia, and the loss of many important forts in the region sent alarms among the people of the second Rome.
A noble by the name of Eugustus Giovani, a Byzantine noble of Genoese decent urged the empror to go on the offensive and raid Caliphal cities close to the Byzantine border.Of course the empror feared that such an action would ignite a war he was not ready to face, but pressure from the nobility to fight the Turkish menace was too irresistable...

Raid the Turkish lands! (triggers the Caliph's missive)
Another time Eugustus....

The Caliph's missive

The Caliph of Baghdad, furious at the audacity of the Romans on raiding his western domain, sent a missive demanding the subjegation of Byzantium to the Caliphate,by sending the Ragila, and a formal apology , not to mention recompensating the Caliphate for her losses. It was an insult for Byzantium, but a weighty one....

Send a formal apology!
Bah bastard, tell the dog of Islam that we will have none of this!(triggers Ionian war- population loss and stab hits, and CB but no "real war" )

If Anatolia captured by Byzantines

Battle of Yinni Shahar of the Ionian War

The battle of Yinni Shahar boosted the moral of the Byzantine army with the fall of inner Anatolia to the Eastern Roman Empire.Over 30 thousand Caliphal troops were slaughtered in the bloody battle, and Byzantium had her share of losses too, but the fall of inner Turkey changed the character of the war.The Emperor led his victorious troops into Angora, the first victory of orthadoxy in the face of Islam.

pop losses, loss of troops for Cal....etc

Note: I have alot more, but I just made these to see what u think, if u like them though :)

Please, no individual battles as separate events. There is this thing of "Too much events" and having individual battles as events falls into that. Too many scripted wars would too, but few of them gives flavour, though they imo should only have scripted start and conclusion events.

And as nitpick, there should not be any nobles of italian descent in Byzantium. They are very greek empire, whose events often show disdain to non-greeks. If "Eugustus Giovani" (OT: Reminds me of V:tM ;)) is absolutely must, he could be an italian mercenary leader or something.

italian mercenary with an estate?nice ok :D
I made individual battles here because I believe this should be like one last shootout between the Cals and the Byzs :p

The game has a battle engine of it's own for a reason, you know? :p ;)

Well, a greek noble would be more logical there, I can supply a name for one.

you ar evil
:p ok give us a name, and do some spiffy uppit of the events
